This stuff actually works!
Placebo
You might feel better on Swisse
well, I have tried them and they are one of the better vitamins. You cant quantify the effect and it would vary from person to person but I found them good.
if you cant quantify the effect and they vary from person to person - then basically you are saying that buying them is like russian roulette…
translated into english - a sham (which i dont believe to be true)when I buy an apple - i know what job it does
when i buy a pencil - i know what job it does
when i buy aspirin - i know what job it doeswhy would you buy a particular brand of vitamin if you dont know what job it would do
(this is less about swisse and more about why addicted would tolerate such uncertainty or make such vague statements about something remotely medicinal)
ok, when you buy an apple- what job does it do?
quantify it.
you cant, but you know the apple is good for you so you eat it. same thing with multivitamins.
you cant quantify the effects, because the effects vary from person to person (some are more deficient than others, so benefit is of course going to vary).i think calling mulivitamins a sham is a little harsh.
Ok, just because you have dr in your nickname does not allow you to talk like one. I admit, I should have been more succinct.
All I wanted to say is as "camMMM" put it, 'I take the men's ultivites, i believe they work.'
why would you buy a particular brand of vitamin if you dont know what job it would do
it makes my pee go yellow… that's why i buy it…
You'd be better off investing the 30 odd bucks for this junk into some fruit and veg followed by a brisk walk around the block.
They may you pee go yellow, that's the only difference i noticed…
That means you are consuming more vitamins than you need.
That's actually part of the Vitamin B component in the vitamins…
If you ever have a multi B, you will notice the same thing.
its the excess vitamin b. I had a vitamin b deficiency and needed to take tablets and that still happened. I take swisse and dont really feel any different, but might as well take it anyway.
just like s3x panther, 60% of the time works all the time
I take the men's ultivites, i believe they work.
I agree.
There's more to it than yellow pee or placebo's.
I know I dont eat as much fruit and vegetables as I should, and whilst a multivitamin isnt as good as actually eating a balanced diet, it's better than not having anything at all.
When I run out of vitamins and dont take them for a few days, I definitely feel the difference. It's only subtle, but it's most certainly not a placebo effect. Here's a good 'ready reckoner' of what different vitamins do for you (and if you dont take vitamins, what foods you should be eating to them). http://www.fauxpress.com/kimball/med/essentialv.htm
I can tell you right now, I don't eat all that crap… but I know my body needs it :).
I take these sometimes too, but for it to be a placebo effect, someone would have had to substitute the tablet with a placebo for a while without your knowledge. Otherwise you know that something is different & that has shown in a bazillion studies to affect your subjective description of how you feel.
Other day it was in front page news in Herald sun that this swisse pills doesn't work They r just making people fool.Frankly speaking i got no idea for this. Here is the link
