how many people out there still using DDR3?

Definitely not common these days as it's only for older PCs. Earlier this year I bought my son a G.Skill RipjawsX 8gb DDR3 kit to bum up his RAM to 16GB. It cost much more than this item. I personally still run a PC with DDR3 too (Xeon x5675 CPU )and it works fine for what I do which includes some gaming.

People that are buying the SFF PC's that pop up here. Ill grab some to take it from 8 gig to 16 gig.
Only used for office/homework and roblox and a bit of command and conquer.

    • I’ve got a file/plex server still using it.

        4790k life

    • Me. Still running a 4690k. As it happens, also bought 2x8GB Patriot Viper III from Amazon a couple of years ago for $78 so nice to see something not increased in price in these times

    • Still rocking the i7 3770K 32g ram and RX 6700 XT. Still using for gaming on my oculus quest 2.

    • i think you'd be surprised

  • Still running a crosshair V and EX-58 Extreme paired with Intel 940 here.

Running an i5 in one the Aliexpress mystery Chinese mainboards, needs DDR3.

  • The OzB favourite Dell 9020 loves these.

  • DDR3 still worth $80 these days? wow

  • please beware of trying 8 GB sticks on old motherboards, most Intel ones didn't support 8 GB sticks. I had to use 4*4 GB on my Sandy bridge i5 (Q67 chipset) which I used until few weeks back.

the safest bet is to check your mobo spec

      • I think most can support with a BIOS update, mine was a refurbished business desktop with ECS Q67H2-AM motherboard and just had "Max 16GB" without exact slot config.
