For those who don't care about DDR5
Cheaper than the previous deal posted, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/652742

Fulfil by Amazon US, but return/RMA has been easy from my experience

Apparently 3600mhz is cheaper than 3200mhz in Black version

    Good deal, good memory.

Ordered this today from shopping express for 119$ ….

    • Plus shipping?

      • Including shipping here

        • +5

          That's 3600c18, this is 3600c16.

        • +5

corsair 3600 c18-22-22-42 uses mostly Samsung C-Die, Nanya B-Die etc, which tops out at 3600c18 with no OC head room almost at all,

whereas the crucial one's are consistently using Micron 8Gbit RevE (maybe 16Gbit RevB for their 16GB per stick), and both the RevE/ 16Gbit B OCs like no tomorrow (almost guarantee to reach 4000+)

if you really like Corsair as a RAM manufacturer (which you shouldn't anyway), AT LEAST go for their 3600 18-19-19-39 if not 3600c16, at least you will only get Micron RevE or Hynix CJR/DJR or if you lucky low bin Samsung B-Die

    • I only see the 3200Mhz version for $119 there.

      • 3200 Mhz was selling for 111$ including shipping yesterday

    thanks, bought 4x8gb

    • Will there be any cons with running 4x8GB of this kit? I am running a 5600X and thinking of grabbing two of these kits

      • +2

possibly less oc headroom but thats outweighed by the benefit of dual rank from 4x8, light on memory controller anyway, 3800 c14 'should' be possible with a proper oc.

  • +1

I managed to overclock this upto 4000MT/s without any major issues.
Highly recommend this. Especially if you are after 32GBs, 2 pairs will get you 2 ranks on each channel.

    • +1

Seeing as you're mentioning dual rank, did you manage to get the infinity fabric at 2000Mhz? Or are you just running intel?

I only ever went to 1900, and was running 3800 for a while until it crashed. Since then I couldn't be bothered as the gains were minimal, just using XMP. Maybe having 4 sticks is less stable than just 2.

      • +1

If you want to have both 4 stick and OC, try upping SOC to 1.10v~1.20v, VDDP to 0.9v~1v, VDDG_IOD to 1v~1.1v, present you have a 6 layer PCB board.

      • infinity fabric at 2000Mhz. I think I was a bit lucky with the silicon. I didn't change the voltage and it just worked. But as you mentioned there is not much of a difference is running it at 3600 - 3800 or 4000. I'm overclocking this memory to see how far I can get. I might as well revert it back to 3600 and leave it with its default XMP.
        CPU - 5900x
        Mobo - B550 Tomahawk

        • Are you running 2 sticks or 4?

I dont remember ever getting it to stick at 2000 with 4 sticks, also running 5900x on x570 tomahawk.

After some crashes, I couldnt be bothered changing all the numbers again from BIOS and just left it at XMP.

  • When is ddr5 and new ryzen coming and how much will it cost?

    • +5

Yes, right now with the global chip shortage, i would wager its still a while away before they get enough potatoes in stock. Kettles and smiths neeed to get their shit together

    • +4

DDR5 will cost way more then DDR4… prices for older stock Zen3 and even Zen2 will be discounted to the point Zen4 will look crazy expensive because amd has two more AM4 (DDR4) products coming out before then with Zen3+ (Rzyen XT & and Ryzen 3D)

Intels new stuff is looking like it will be more expesive according to rumers.. their old stock may see a smaller price drop due to how high the new product will be selling for.

I'm sticking with DDR4 for the next 3 years.. maybe longer. By that time DDR5 and new CPUs will have settled

Im waiting for a good 64gb deal to pop up

      • +1

Same thing happened for DD4, the uptake took a while as prices slowly went down and yesterweek's components were relatively cheap.

      • Ram seems to have gotten more expensive this year. I managed to get two 16gb patriot sticks for $150 ($180 with a discount) a year ago.

  • intel 12gen CPU will support ddr5 ram. It should come out the next month.

Op says order fulfilled by Amazon US -> But haven't the US stopped all international shipping to Oz due to plane shortage/pandemic???

  • How accurate are the shipping ETA's from Amazon US? Says ~Oct 27th for me, or will it be quicker?

    • +1

from my experience i usually get the item around 2 weeks after purchase date from amazon us

  • If my current 16gb of RAM is 3000MHz should I not get 3600MHz? I think I remember reading that the computer will use the lowest Mhz of ram I have.

    • Depends if you want to push performance.

You can modify frequencies in the BIOS as a first step. Need to be careful as this might impact system stability ie crashes, but you can change settings back.

    • +1

I remember reading that the computer will use the lowest Mhz of ram I have

only true in JEDEC specs, i.e. if you have a set does 3200c22 (backward compatible with 2666c19/2400c17/2133c15), and another set does say 2400c17, both will automatically run at 2400c17.

XMP is a OC profile, manufacturer just slap on to a RAM stick that they think will run at that speed. If you have 2 set with different XMP profile, and just enable the faster profile, there's no difference to a manual OC hence stability is not guaranteed.

Plus you might going to get different Memory IC like one from Samsung and one from Micron so they might not even run JEDEC together.

  • For reference, I need to RMA one of mine and it costs $41 express shipped and insured.

Regular shipping cost is $10 - 15 cheaper

  • Now even lower at $116.05 https://prnt.sc/1uzixm7

  • lol After being over RAM posts the last couple of years I just bought myself a B560M AORUS PRO this arvo, to update my current i5 4570 'rig', so now I'm looking out for RAM posts. And hopefully a 10400F deal
