If you buy 2 700ml bottles of Absolut vodka (one must be flavoured), and send in your details + receipt, they will send you an American Tourister carry-on for $30 (I suspect that is to cover their shipping).
RRP is $279

        • Damn. Hope they accept my copy. I hope they let me know pretty quickly if they're not going to accept it so I can send the original.

        • Just bear in mind the print in original thermal receipts may fade away over time. The original may end up useless then.

  • It's one suitcase per address. Which means I'm the only one at work who can get it delivered there. Not sure what coworkers are gonna do — we all work during the day, no one at home to sign for it?

    • Are you serious? Put the two barcodes in, attach your one receipt, done.

      • Are we supposed to send in the barcodes too? Or just need to enter the barcodes online during claiming process and send in the original receipt?

        • Send the empty bottles!! :-)
          The barcodes are on ever bottle, you just type them into form.

    There is only 1 barcode on the receipt. I've tried to insert the last 5 digits of the barcode in to the two barcode sections of the online claim form however it is rejected..Any ideas?

    • you should enter barcode found on your Absolut Vodka bottles, not the receipt.

  • The status of my case is now 'cleared' which according to the legend means 'approved and ready for dispatch'.
    Waits impatiently for my building concierge to let me know I have a package

    • Did you send the original or copy of the receipt in the post? I also has the status as 'Cleared - Your payment has cleared and your order is approved for dispatch.' but with almost 4 months of expected delivey date in July.

    • Just check my claim status, showing "Dispatched"…I think i will received it within a week :). That's fast, mailed my form on 19 Mar with original receipt

        edit: opps i checked again and it says expected delivery date 12/07/12, but even if dispatched from overseas it should take that long lol

        • Agh! My Scoot flight to Singapore leaves on 10/7 & I just posted my form. Maybe no new carry-on luggage for me. Scoot only allow a 7kg carry-on bag plus 3kg laptop anyway.

  • geez, how can AirAsia & Jet* accept this luggage as carry on but Virgin Australia don't…. ridiculous!

    • As I pointed out way back… theoretically it is not accepted by Jetstar.

      Notice bag is 0.5cm larger (36.5cm rather than 36 max) than allowed as carry on for Qantas/Jetstar.

      More than likely it will be accepted. (On the bags I saw in DJ's, there is a tag that shows which airlines accepts it as carry on)

  • Has anyone been able to get to their invoice page? I think there should be tracking info on it but it keeps giving me an error!

    • The 'Tax Invoice/Validation Form - click here' works BEFORE the order is accepted. It produces the same form you submitted for the order (attach 2 receipts).

      AFTER order goes to 'Dispatched' state (Yippee! Just changed for me.) it no longer takes you to the order form, as you no longer need it. You get 'The page cannot be displayed…'.
      You then get on the order page the expected delivery date: 20/07/12 for me.

      So I guess we will receive an email closer to delivery date, & maybe a tracking number. Pity I will be overseas by then, without the case.

      As for slow delivery, the closing date for claims is 6/05/2012, so delivery seems to start 2 months after the last claim!!

      • 10/07/2012 for me but I ordered the day the promo opened.
        I am a bit disappointed that they are waiting so long to start sending them out.
        Surely it would make more sense to have some stock ready to go out when you start your promotion.

        • Yes. Maybe they are sitting on the money until the promotion is over, then buying the number of cases ordered. Makes sense to the promoters, but not to us.

    I just contacted the promo people about why my claim wasn't accepted and then they only emailed me back and told me that the copy receipt isn't accepted. It had in bold letters on the claim form "ATTACH ORIGINAL OR COPY
    OF ITEMISED TILL RECEIPT HERE".

    I think that's poor form from the guys over there to not even contact me first when the claim wasn't accepted and also not following what their own claim form states. Now I need to send out my original receipts again, not too happy with this one.

    • That really sucks. I too carefully read the instructions and sent a copy of my receipt. I just logged in and checked my claim now. The status is "Dispatched". It seems they're not even consistent in approving claims if they accepted mine, but rejected yours because it was a copy rather than original.

      Simple - Yes (scan a copy to keep) & Maybe - T&C say they can supply another colour or same value product (pay with credit card - so should also cover any issues)
      But it looks like they only buy the cases after all the claims are in, as it is shipped 2 months after the last claim!

  • where's my bag farkin!?! - it said dispatched 10 days ago…. it's only going from port melbourne to south yarra… ill pick it up if its easier lol… i go away in 3 weeks and want to take it with me!!

    • As I pointed out (hope I am wrong) first delivery date is about 2 months after last claim date, so all bags are likely to be dispatched only after close of claims. Likely they won't source luggage until all claims come in. So who knows where the bags will be dispatched from - may not even be in Australia, but it won't be a tiny promotions office!

      • On the warranty booklet on the back it has empty boxes for "Dealer stamp" and "purchase date". Would I still be eligible for their 3 year warranty?

  • When people start receiving their bags, can you please post the actual date of receipt, together with day your claim was lodged.

    Would just like to know how long the delivery date is in reality, rather than the expected 120days to allow for delivery…

  • Got mine this morning. I sent my my claim form via mail on the 26th March. Blue wasn't what I was expecting it would be so getting another one sent to my missus' place. Make sure to attach original receipt and keep a photocopy of it!

    • Sounds like they are distributing from Melbourne - 2 Victorians got delivery. I sent claim form on 23rd so add a few days to get there, but it always takes longer for delivery to Brissie of promos. Anyone received a non-Blue delivery??

      • Sorry let me clarify what I meant. The shade of blue wasn't what I expected it would look like. It's more of a turquoise meets sky blue.

      Got mine today (Sydney) as well.
      You're right the blue is lighter in real life, but I still quite like it.

      Considering my expected delivery was the 10.07 and I got it on 10.04 maybe they just got their months mixed up after drinking too much delicious vodka.

        Forgot when I lodged mine but it had a estimated delivery date of 17/7

        Only thing was I asked for blue, but got red instead.

        No biggie though - still tons happy!

      Seems they are slow to move your order from 'Cleared' to 'Dispatched'. Mine has said 'Dispatched' for a while. I ordered online 22 March, posted on 23rd, so form would have arrived by 27th in Melbourne.

      Noticed no one has posted for a week that they received theirs.
      Maybe they are dispatching in batches? Or maybe those fast OBers ordered before a rush of orders that may slow dispatches to slightly later orderers?

      (As azm posted - 13/3 Submitted online; 14/3 Posted from Melbourne; 15/3 probably received posted form; 04/4 received Bag. Having received my posted form up to 12 days later, by that schedule, mine would not reach Brissie before now - given Easter break & longer delivery time.)

    • Hmmm… I haven't received that email, but ordered a week ahead of you (online 22 March, posted on 23rd March, ETA 20/07/12).

      There seemed to be a few deliveries, then nothing. It sounded like stocks were getting low, as they had substituted colour choices very early in the promo.
      By 31st August is a very long wait! I'll be back from my holiday OS by then!!

    • This is crap they held me up with the stupid Copy of receipt and then wanted the real receipt , what a waste of time!

  • I ordered online on 21 April and posted the forms the same day from Adelaide.
    Status is now 'Cleared' with the exp delivery date of 19 AUGUST!
    Looks like a popular promotion!!! Pity I was hoping it would be sent before our trip and was hopeful from others quick delivery….
    We will just have to take another holiday so that we can try out the case! Glad to hear that they sourced extra stock tho - I would have been disappointed if they canx it or subsitute with a diff brand.

      Extra stock was always promised in promo. I guess that is why there has been a consistant 4 month delivery time stated - to account for that extra time to source stock.

      Sounds like 'delivery date' is automatically generated.
      I ordered 1 month before you, and my ETA was 1 month earlier than yours. So estimated delivery date is similar delay as before, despite need to source stock offshore.

  • What happened was I logged onto the site to check. There was an estimated date of 27/7. Then I got the email with the new date a couple of hours later. I wonder if the email could have been generated by the fact that I logged onto their site.

    Anyway, I have sent them a contact and asked that since there is such a long delay, if they could change the delivery address to my PO Box. I have no idea what I will be doing with my days in August!

  • Received my one finally (Ordered 23/03/2012 ).

    It comes as a eParcel. I got red instead of blue. Now I just hope the other one we receive is a different color and not red again.

    It comes with a neat Absolut sticker at the front.

    Happy Happy Joy Joy!! Its arrived at last in Brissie.
    (Ordered online 22 March, posted on 23rd March, ETA 20/07/12).
    The new batch of American Touristers must have been dispatched.

    My Apple Green one (colour that I ordered) just arrived by AustPost eParcel.
    (No Absolut sticker on front - glad about that as my next travels are to Islamic countries!!)

    Just a bit bigger but 0.5kg lighter than my free Chivas Regal carry on bags.

    As for the 2.9kg luggage - flimsy soft case & not very secure. Hinge is a sewn in piece of plastic material! Chinese sewing may just last out the 3 year Warranty period if treated very carefully!! (Bought shorts in Beijing, was shown how good stitching was, but failed within 30 minutes of putting them on - an embarrassing lesson in Chinese quality.) Zipper material & hinge would take seconds to slash. So don't let this case out of your sight.

    • Next test - see if allowed on certain airlines, as is just a little too big. 55cm x 36.5cm x 22cm. (36.5cm rather than 36 max allowed as carry-on Qantas/Jetstar)

      No problems! The 0.5cm extra width seems to be the soft carry handle sticking out. As the case is flexible if not too full, should fit in their carry-on luggage test frames before check-in. (The handle is attached by 4 Phillips head screws.)

      I'm next flying Scoot (54cm x 38cm x 23cm) so it is 1cm too high (another plastic handle - could easily remove it!) - but doubt they would notice, otherwise I will be charged $80 extra on $160 flights!!

      • Handles are easily removed/fitted if necessary. I found tightening up the screws finger tight was all that is necessary - so easy to remove at airport if challenged.

      Some interesting things in the box:
      (probably obvious, but thought I would post)

      *includes a barcode with a price of $279

      *says approved for Qantas carry-on (but bag dimension is listed as 36.5cm, while it shows Qantas allows only 36 but says it meets that requirement!)

      *shipped in a white cover (I assumed was just packaging) which is a draw-string bag. Could use bag over case on flights if need to put in hold, or protect case from scratches & marks in transit, otherwise handy for storage of case.

      *diagramatic description of how lock works is little incorrect:
      in delivered unlocked state (000), press & release tiny button (you will hear a click) to right of the 3 code wheels (a tiny round indent in side of lock - shown incorrectly in diagram as on left of code wheels with something pointy pointing at it!) - then set your desired code, press the end of the lock (unlock) to set code, insert zipper tags, change code wheel positions to lock. (Remember code!!)

      *"The lock offers additional, though certainly not absolute security. Locks are intended to prevent accidental opening and cannot necessarily prevent theft of case or its contents."
      Now there is an understatement. It is only secure against honest 2 year olds. The case is easy to break into, but any criminal will just run away with an unattendend case or swiftly run a knife around the zipper & hinge rather than bother opening the lock.

  • Got my blue case yesterday 16/5/12 (in ACT, original ETA date was 26/7/12).

    Dad got his green case Monday 14/5/12 (in Syd, original ETA date was 27/7/12).

    I want to check with the others who got this deal but haven't gotten their case yet. I received an e-mail today with them saying that we're definitely getting our 'overseas' stock, and that we'll receive it by August 31. Thing is, I fly out in two and a half weeks, so I'm hoping it arrives by then - I believe I ordered mine around the 25th of April.

    Any luck with anyone else? If you see this can you please tell me when you received your case, and when you ordered it? Oh also - my account says that it's still been 'cleared'… not delivered yet. :S
