Bali's back!!!!

Qantas and Virgin Australia have both decided March 27th, and Jetstar has decided April 1st is the day to start flying to Bali (some days showing a dreamliner!).

Qantas is selling routes from MEL and SYD, Jetstar from Sydney, and Virgin from MEL, SYD and Brisbane!

To that end, I've done a quick search for the cheapest dates on all those routes until the end of April, and I present them below in table format.

I've also included the return legs, which in general are cheaper than the flights there.

Indonesia 17% fully vaccinated, 30% first dose. Doubt you'll be traveling there by March next year…

      Majority being Sinovac too.

      • AKA the one that wasn't even providing 50% immunity once they started factoring in unreported/under reporting and deaths

        https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-01-12/china-vac…

Yet on Tuesday, Butantan said the overall rate, which also includes very mild cases that didn’t require medical help, is actually 50.38%.

    • I think Bali has higher rates than rest of Indonesia

      • Talking with some mates there, sounds like it's pretty easy to get.

        • The rona or the vax?

          • +1

@Jack D Price: Ah dang thought I’d edited that in already - the vaccine. Sounds like large parts of Bali have been AZeneca’d up the wazoo.

  • +3

    Nah I'm good.

Just posting what the airlines are posting. It's on multiple airline news sites as well. See https://www.executivetraveller.com/news/qantas-virgin-austra… for example.

          Savage.

        • +8

The deal is for flights that start in 7 months from now. Why are you basing your neg on current border closers Xyron? Are you able to predict the future?

      • Airlines don't set the rule mate, the Fed Gov does, then on top the states do. God knows Qantas and co have tried to set dates well before anything happens.

    • +11

Come on, we are adults. We are able to make our own judgement on things. Indonesia might not have a high vaccination rate, but they are surely keen to open up Bali first to tourists in the same way Thailand to Phuket. All airlines are selling their flights, but no one is forcing you to buy it.

Bali " Up the yobbo" 😉

    Enjoy your one way trip.

And I literally just read about some Aussie muppets that had to charter a private plane back from New Zealand for about $40k per head.

I don't think the virus will be the problem.

I think being stranded in a foreign country because Scotty from Marketing was busy bullshitting instead of building quarantine and securing vaccines will be the friggin problem.

Booking any international travel right now without a 100% money back cancellation policy would be foolishly optimistic.

Forget Federal government's 4 step plan.. it's all up to the states how they will manage international travel, both inbound and outbound and so far only NSW has given a slight hint that they will "trial" home-quarantine and other measures. Nothing from other states so far.

    • +2

      Couldn't agree more !
And I hate the whingers who knowingly go overseas to high risk countries than anything bad happened they cry this poor me cr@p and blame the government and the poor taxpayers will have to foot the bill for their charter flights back, its unforgivable !!!!!!

    • I imagine their home quarantine will be about as useful as their lockdown was.

  • +8

you can go, but you aint coming back.

    • +2

Hell.. people can't even come back home from other states within Australia, forget taking chances going overseas.

NZ bubble was a good example how big of a shit-show this is. People took holidays when there was a brief quarantine free travel and then sudden border closure happened. Now thousands are stuck in NZ right now.

  • +1

Is this a fools day joke

  • +1

what is the cancellation policy ?

    • reserves the right to cancel flights

  • +5

Bali was bad enough during non pandemic times… imagine the people going to Bali post pandemic??

  • +1

    As a deal, I don't think $304 from Sydney is a bargain.

I think we will see sub $200 fares once the official announcement comes out that Bali is accepting Aussie tourists once again.

  • Those the amounts the Airlines are giving you to fly to Bali?

  • Nice, time to turn Bali into a bogan haven full of Aussies again
