  Don't trust Kogan, they have lied about other promotions in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if they lie about this one too. Why cashback and not a straight discount, sounds dodgy Kogan-style.

    Really? What have they lied about?? They have always been very good to me and I have a few of their products. The only trouble I have had with them is once an item was meant to arrive at my place before midday and I nearly missed the delivery because it arrived nearly an hour late.

      I explained it before in previous Kogan posts. The one they lied to me about, was their "Get our TV FREE if you find it cheaper elsewhere" deal. I spent hours finding the same model cheaper at another place, but when I reported it to them, they put me on hold and changed their price to just under the cheaper price, so I couldn't get the free TV.

        And they gave out quite a lot of free TVs - sounds like you were unlucky. Probably just missed their cut-off.

        Who got a free TV? I think nobody. There was no cut-off, the guy changed the price as I was told to wait, it was dishonest and a waste of my time. It sounded like he thought I was dumb for believing that they will give out free TVs so easily.

  If people were going nuts over the BigW MSI tablet yesterday, this Kogan one is similarly spec'ed and I think has CM7 community support. Making it a slightly better buy.

  Kogan and CoTD seem to get knocked big time here on Ozbargain!

    They both have poor histories..
    Paypal Cashback offers have a similarly poor history. Many people report that they have to chase Paypal to get the cashback and have to wait well after the supposed cashback date before they see the funds.

      why didn't you return it? (Given that you sold it on the second day, you would have got back your entire amount if you had just returned it)

        Because Kogan will reject the return, saying it's not in resellable condition, and you can't disprove it once it's back in their hands. There is a reason why Kogan is online-only, so they can scam you without looking you in the face.

      Depends what you're buying. I have the WiFi Internet Radio as listed above and it's the best small, DAB+ and Internet Radio I've seen or heard.
      The fact that it's half the price of anything that even comes close is just a bonus.

      My in-laws recently bought an OXX brand unit that looks like it came out of the same factory. Same UI same feel to the plastics and very similar styling.

    I tried the 7" version for a bit,
    poor webcam and poor mic,
    so killed it for Skype.
    also had little issues with screen truning on when not in use.

    otherwise it was OK, games and movies were fine, HDMI was useful.

    I returned it after 3 days.

    Who can say.. the Kogan tablet got pretty poor reviews and has a phone OS instead of a Tablet OS (unless someone has created a ROM for it).
    The specs on the other unit certainly look better too.
