I thought it was the commbank logo lol

  • got one, useful for various tasks like DNS based load balancing (USB WAN & ETH WAN) etc. I have OpenWRT though.

  • Best travel router with its size and price

The image made me think it was a CommBank deal. LOL.

I borrow my neighbours wifi regularly. Will this work on a password protected network?

    • +1

You can use this as a network extender.

    • Your neighbours wifi doesn’t have a password?

      • +1

        I know the password. It's a hostel.

Yep, I would first set it up with a randomly generated MAC address so that they can never block you though and also add in a VPN to that Mango before you use it properly as a free WiFi source for your devices.

Sorry if a dumb question. Why not VPN on phone and hotspot or tether? Is it not possible?

    • +1

This can create a hotspot OFF an existing WiFi connection (or wired via ethernet) and share to multiple devices and lots of nice things.

      • +1

you can do the same with most phones, I tried to use this at 100 Mbps WAN and it was little unstable. I don't have any AC routers and I tired to use my phone as a AC router with GbE WAN via USB C, works perfectly.

    • Good idea actually… VPN, Hotspot n cast to TV.

As I mentioned in the other GL iNet product that was on ozb I think yesterday, these things are pretty underpowered processor-wise and will slow wayyy down when you have VPN enabled. Useful for hotels but not great for constant/home use.

    • depends, if you have wireguard you can get a stable 30Mbps performance. Even with QOS, I can pass the bufferbloat tests with 20Mbps

      • Which one ur talking abt?

Depends on the router. The shadow is pretty weak.

  • Bought! Ands op

Have the black version of this use it to run a VPN to my tv for netflix as smart DNS is not working atm..

    • I have s1300 and run it the way u described. Stopped working last week or so.

    • Oh great idea

  • amazon are real ahole to publish deals that have short time frames.
