hahaha I can fully concentrate now minus the clingy toddler I usually have on my lap!

In this day and age, I'm amazed we are allowed to refer to babies as babies.

Does that really make people to pay the markups?

Instead of receiving a gift in a typical folded box (which one would usually throw out) you can instead use it for storage or in my case, I use it for nappies. Anything reusable tends to be more expensive to purchase. I use recycled metal paint tins which aren’t cheap to manufacture. All products are of high quality and $2 of all tins purchased goes towards supporting LIFELINE. I won’t be Richard Branson anytime soon but this small business is doing its best.

Can I give you some honest feedback? I think you’ll find that you might be better off selling it cheaper by using recycle material (cardboard). Especially in this day and age it’s all about being environmentally friendly etc and you would definitely loose a market (customers) who are environmentally conscious etc.

4L tin isn’t massive but if you say you store nappies I don’t know if that’s even useful since you would need to open the tin with the tin opener and won’t even store much nappies. Many mums would have formula tins which can be used as storage as well (I know it’s smaller, but if you are going down the road of marketing as a reusable tin - not sure if people would pay more specifically for it.)
With all due respect even with free delivery $80 is too much for the amount of stuff you get in there.I can’t imagine anyone paying $120 for it - I could be wrong though.

        Good luck though!!

        • I disagree with you here about changing to cardboard. I think the tin is a nice novelty to send to someone about to have a baby.

Might be cheaper to do cardboard, sure, but I think you're paying for the receivers excitement.

Comes like a little Swiss army knife of sorts that I think most new parents would enjoy. And I don't see a saturated market so good on them for finding this niche.

  • The tin can be recycled if someone chooses to do so. But we encourage people to just reuse it. Individual items in the tin can add up to much more than what I’m charging for the quality
This is actually my second release of baby ting so I definitely have a market for it.
I don’t store the nappies in it with the lid on :)
Thank you for your feedback :)

Honest feedback? I’m not sure how this is worth $80 let alone $120 originally.

The contents of this package does not amount to it. But I suppose it’s for people who want an easy one stop shop gift for people, but I still think that the cost of the package is overpriced, unless of course you’ve been getting lots of sales then I stand corrected otherwise I think the pricing needs to be adjusted. Yes I know you’re trying to target the organic like and premium audience, but it doesn’t look that premium to me.

  • so.. do you brush the baby down like you would shine your shoes?
clearly no babies in this household

A lot of negative comments but I do understand it. I take no issue with your price, just don’t think it belongs on OzBargain.

For those saying negative things, the gifting industry is huge. Look at companies like DessertBoxes, who are selling 5x donuts for $59 or 9x smaller donuts for $76, add a balloon and it’s $135.

It’s a great company idea. Especially for someone like me who has no clue what to buy for a baby. I just don’t know if this product really for OzBargain since our ethos is in the name. But I don’t think it’s a rort or overpriced, I’m sure you’re not turning much of a profit on this.

Hit. The. Nail. On. The. Head.
      Thank you for that.
You’re definitely right. This isn’t the place for tings. Thank you all! I hope you’re staying safe <3

      • Yep. It’s a great concept and wish you all the best. Most small businesses don’t do well on here. You’ll see that most posts are loss-leaders or at least massively reduced prices. Think those extreme couponing TV shows. 😜 I’ll definitely save your site for next time someone has a bub!

    • I understand the gifting industry is big, but mine and others wasn’t necessary negative feedback, but constructive honest feedback for the Op what I think they could do better. If they are trying to target “organic” in some of their products - the tin isn’t the best vessel to store the items considering op said it costs more (and like I mentioned it looses a consumer market straight up).
Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind getting a tin cause it’s a cute packaging but maybe instead of spending on the tin they can add one more essential baby item into the package. Like even baby face cloths, a unisex plain onsie (they don’t cost much) or something to fill this “gap”. Just my 2 cents.

    • it's all about the market. and yes probably not suitable for ozb
would i buy it myself? on a cold day in hell. would i buy it for an expecting friend or staff? quite possibly
