They are good umbrellas; brought from them couple of years ago.

    • Ye, I notice they increased their price by $3, but great umbrellas.

    • Yeah, I got some last year when they were going for about $27 delivered. Considering I was usually paying about $7-$10 for a cheap, tiny, crappy umbrella whenever it rained, which would usually break a few weeks after buying it, I'm pretty happy with these.

They are good umbrellas indeed, but one turned upside-down on a rainy when there was strong wind. Would still recommend it though for what it's worth.

Correct, seems to be $3 more now from tightarse's last woodworm umbrella post.

Well spotted pauly :) Now to find a ripper for my 300th post!

    • I got them at $14.95 from oo.com.au last November, yes, they are good umbrellas. :)

  • +1

    Oh wow that's a 3x pack.

  • How's the quality of these compared to those expensive gold umbrellas?

  • They were on sale at $16.95 till 2am this morning on oo.com.au - I think it was a one day sale. I was looking at them last night, and was tempted to buy another 3. I agree - they are pretty darn good - even for $30 each one I'd happily pay it.

    • Yep got them at 16.95 last year, so I wouldn't really call this c bargain, won't neg it tho.

  • +1

yeah.. worth it if price is 16.95 but @ 19.95 will wait.. This is not IT stuff that we had to have now.. haha..

  • remember the delivery cost, people

and don't get too excited trying to combine other purchases in with this, as oo.com.au don't give you much relief for multiple purchases.

PS - I think this is a great deal.

  • gladly pay $30 (taking into account shipping) for 3 large umbrellas…the $2 shops sell each for $15-30

  • Thanks!

  • Bought. Thank you.

  • Thanks Op; been looking for an umbrella this week :)

  • +1

Bought these a year or 2 back and they are still as perfect as the day I got them.
Best umbrella I've ever owned, highly recommend them.. even at this price they are worth it.

    • +1

Oops, my fat fingers accidently negged you :(

      • Yeah, I've whinged about the skinny icons to the mods.

  • +1

This is not really a bargain. They've been at this price (even cheaper) for a very long time.

Having said that, they're good umbrellas. Also withstand fairly strong winds which a lot of umbrellas don't.

    • They've got to be better than the $2 shop disposable umbrellas I buy each season.

      What constitutes a bargain?
Does it have to be THE cheapest price anyone has ever seen - ever?
Or is a bargain simply good value?
I call 3 decent umbrellas for 30 bucks decent value so in my book this is a bargain. Even if someone was lucky enough to be up at 4am on some site to nab them for 3 dollars cheaper.

Oxford definition: "a thing bought or offered for sale more cheaply than is usual or expected"

      • we need to factor in inflation.

          and precipitation

          and once I've ordered, anticipation

then when I see it somewhere else for 50c less, heart palpatations.

  • Good umbrellas. Bought last time. Still going strong!

  • Grip handle is a bit small imo.

One for a friend, and two for me. Great for the gloomy Brisbane skies :)

  • Good deal in my opinion. My employer has similar 'branded' umbrellas that they give to clients and sell to staff. Great umbrellas, but cost a good $24 each. I would have considered $24 for one cheap if I was looking for something like it in the stores. I'm more than happy to have just paid $30 for 3!

  • great umbrellas. extremely sturdy and oh so large!

  • Bunnings sells (branded) golf umbrellas for $10 each in store. Don't know if they're double canopy though.

    • Can't see that on their website.

    • Was thinking the same thing but Bunnings one isn't double-canopy. So is the double-canopy worth the extra?

        Think of it this way, if it's a windy day & you're carrying a 60" parachute…

  • Whoops, stellaoriens already posted this above.

  • These are good umbrellas, had mine for about a year now and it's traveled a lot of miles and survived a lot of rough handling.

Has been the same price for about 2 months now

    • But for people who lives a short drive to Rosebery, like myself, the pick up option makes it a deal :)

  • Dunno much about these umbrellas - seems a good deal judging by comments.

I've bought 2 umbrellas for $50 each from Myers in the last … I'm not certain but I think 10+ years. Their umbrellas are definitely a quality item, unsure of the size but they're pretty big.

In any case Myer's have an exchange policy for any failure of the frame (from wind, usage etc). I've exchanged every winter or every second as a matter of fact :D - they just replace it even though there's only meant to be 12 months replacement policy. I just ask for a replacement, show them whatever failed (always the thin spines that extend out), give the reciept and they do it no questions asked.

I only bought 2 because I left one on the bus.

    • If they keep failing once a year, they can't be a quality item can they..

      • Fair point but I do live by the beach where it's insanely windy. They've never turned inside out, the spines broke.

  • Thanks OP, just bought a set. I grabbed three last time and gave some to buddies.

  • can we choose the color combinations? really not into that black and white one. :)

Reading is just soooo overrated! :p

  • Woodworm sell bikes that I've been told 'break apart', why are their umbrellas better?

Also are they just an ourdoor company? Bikes and Umbrellas don't really match :/

    • They also make arguably the best cricket bats in the world.

  • I'm impressed that the turnaround time between order and delivery is under 24 hours. 3x umbrellas and a happy customer.

  • Sold out

    • Too much rain.

  • Ordered mine on a Sunday and got them on a Wednesday (Sydney metro).

One of the velco straps on one of the umbrellas was broken. Not TOO big of a deal if you have a grandma or someone that can sew it back on for you. Other than that, good value.
