    Mwave?

    • updated to megabuy, added shipping, and removed expiry date.

  • Is it Mwave or Megabuy?
    Pick one please.

  • Plus $2.95 delivery

  • Heaps good price. Only limitation would be the actual read/write speeds.

    • 15MB/s ain't bad for the cost, at least it isn't like the 4-5MB/s of the SanDisk from shoppingsquare a week or two back.

edit: oh wait that's what the website says… nvm

  • Delivery: $2.95 kills it! :P

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313…

Read/write speeds seem average, with some reporting 2-3 mb/s write, and others 7-8 mb/s.

After all the USB deals recently I'm not in need of any flash storage, but I'd avoid Megabuy on principle based on their actions with the HP Microserver deal!

    • hmm someone wanna be a test bunny?

i need a new usb key after my 64GB corsair GTR decided to cark itself. it was so quick too.. like 28MB/s :(

I ended up getting one, though i really cant think why i did cept for under 25$ its a pretty decent price. I have more usb flash memory sticks then i can poke a usb flash memory stick at…

I guess we'll see how it goes..

        • OS Mirror/backup drive? That's what I'm buying mine for!

    • Normally i would agree, but megabuy did the 4gb ram sticks last week and delivery was rather quick and painless, had it within 3 days of ordering. While i dont think they are fully redeemed from the microservers, they are slowly improving.

    • thanks for the newegg link - what did megabuy do wrong with the HP deal? I got a few, quick delivery, they even sorted out an RMA for me

I was talking about Richie Benaud's jacket on the Cricket.

        • I was bored and don't really give a damn about richie benaud or the colour of these drives :P

    • euros?

  • Are you sure its expired ? as i just purchased one ?.

I got one for an OS drive mirror/backup device. My OS and all installed will just fit in the 30GB of usable space.

Reviews from Newegg are mixed but most report the read speeds over 10MB/s with some saying over 20MB/s so that's all that concerns me. It doesn't matter if it takes 2hrs to fill it as I will only be doing this once a month or so.

PC Life Insurance in a stick for $23.49 delivered (thumbs up)

Also I'm happy to post some benchmarks once it arrives.

  • What is the minimum speed i need to record HD TV to it using my pvr? I've got an HD set top box with usb port, and it doesn't want to play nice with my 3.5" external 500gb seagate, and i'm thinking it's because it's not flash memory. I've formatted the drive, and it has recorded a couple of times, but then needs to be re-formatted to record again.
So yeah, i'm thinking a 32gb usb stick might be better.

  • the price of USB's have come down so much it's not funny anymore! I remember buying a 512mb USB/mp3 for about $50 bucks in 2007! I could now buy 1000gb for that price
