I really just want a front door security camera but it seems if I get this, I also get the feature of the smart door bell too?
Thats my current use case. Faces into a small courtyard which also has the front door. All it really picks up is the family coming and going and sitting eating lunch at the outdoor setting or hanging out the washing 😂 but also anyone else like the postman and couriers. I only get notifications of motion between 11pm till 7am and on doorbell ring.

Yes it works like that.
But the battery is worse than the eufy security camera, 3 months vs 1 year
pretty much.
I can see my whole (small) front garden day or night and get pretty fast notifications as soon as it detects a person. I setup detection zones so it doesnt go off from people walking past my fence. It loads pretty fast but as the person hinted above, the integration with home automation tools like home assistant and google home is pretty minimal
I think the Eufy Smart Floodlight is an excellent replacement for an existing light outside the home. As it is wired, there is no need to charge the batteries. The light is super bright and is adjustable in brightness and the time it is on. There is also up to 2 minute recording each time and is very responsive.

My concern is the speed/delay between motion detection and recording start .. i have tested several makes/models in my use case where this delay makes the unit virtually pointless, the recording starts as the subject is about to move out of recording frame. I'm reluctant to buy more stuff to test if it has this same annoyance.. but sounds like you are saying this is very snappy?
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I am referring to your link. It is very responsive. Wired ones are always faster than the wireless ones as the wireless needs to conserve battery. I have the ring doorbell which is wireless. It responds much slower than the Eufy floodlight.
How much would an electrician cost to install this?
No electrician needed. The doorbell is battery powered so you just have to mount it. The homebase just can sit anywhere there's WiFi in the house (but within range of the doorbell)

Still tossing up between this and the new google doorbell, although the deal with the hub is finished now. I like the 3:4 of the google, however lower res, not sure if there is any real-world difference though?
Yea, me too but i like the idea of.no internet video local storage a bit more vs google home integration. Just still undecisive yet.

What benefits does the Google Home integration provide?
@jamestownfx: basically the integration with the hub and hub max where you can see the video feed, and you can even unlock the door if you have a smartlock compatible. The eufy is compatible too, but you can see in the youtube videos how the feed takes like 15-30 seconds, making the compatibility useless
@cholas: Ah ok, thanks. I don't have a hub so was just planning to use an app on my phone, but something to consider for future if I would use a hub down the track
well just saw on another post that the google doorbell can only go back 3 hours and not 3 hours of clips as I thought it was, so this one is back to the top of the list
I bought this about 2 months ago and was using the home base as the speaker. It suddenly stopped ring from the home base. So I remove the doorbell from the account in order to reconnect it. I was hoping it would fix the issue but now the doorbell won't reconnect. I believe the speaker is broken as it is used to add new devices.
Doesn't look like I'll be getting it replaced anytime soon due to the lockdown and Officeworks only doing exchanges in-store.
I had one at the start of the year, it worked fine at first but after a few days would keep going offline every couple of hours or so, sometimes would last a day. Only way to fix it was to manually remove the camera and set it up again re adding it to the homebase.
Practically unusable, had to reset it multiple times a day, most days.
Returned it for a full refund.
Using an Arlo Essential wire-free doorbell now and has been working fine for a few months now.

Very good. Didn't realize Bunnings has eufy and price match.
My son has this and it works quite well on his phone. The Homebase is not loud and cannot play thru his Google mini or Display Hub. The Google Doorbell will play on all Google Displays and sound thru Minis too.
If anyone's wondering, the home assistant integration for these is basically nonexistent.
App is alright though if thats all you want.
