Read reviews on Electrolux before buying.
    Preferably from established users.
These machines have issues and i wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot pole.

    • This machine has 4.6 out of 5 rating from over 1,000 reviews. Looks a safe bet.

Established users, or bots and day 3 users… serious question.
Best to disregard the stars and number of reviews and focus on the negative, then decide which ones sound honest and which are unfairly negative, then look for a pattern to see of there is any known design issues.
It's hard work… but the integrity of review systems are pretty poor these days, just a sad fact.

        • Especially when 95% of he reviews are written a week after delivery when Amazon sends you the reminder, pretty useless for big ticket item reliability, part of the reason car reviews are rubbish

I completely agree with the sentiment. My Electrolux dryer stopped responding to button presses (electronic). The replacement part costs 150+, more than a used functioning one. Thus, purposefully marked up the board to prevent repairing or being "eco". Almost the same board was used by the other companies (i believe there is only one parent company) costs cheaper (software locked).

Moved to an apartment with an electrolux washing machine and dryer combo. E10 error on first use. The technician had to change one of the something and mentioned this is a common issue.

Prior to all this, used a Simpson manual and essentially was 8+ years old. Got the landlord to replace it given it just didn't clean/dry as well anymore…

So yea, I would avoid Electrolux as the service support is horrible and rather go Bosch if it is my own place.

          • @samkenny: Yeah my experience with Electrolux/westinghouse/AEG/dishlex (and whoever else is under that umbrella) is that parts prices are a total rip off and unless you can get them online/aftermarket nothing is worth repairing. I should qualify that it's pretty much the case for every company, so what would really be helpful is a league table of prices and availability for different companies

How do these compare to German made Bosch front loaders?

      • German made but still only backed by a 2 year warranty, Beko now offering 5 years..

        • I would not say German made. Bosch is German but the bulk of their washing machines are made in Romania (expect the high-end models).

I don't have this specific model but another Electrolux 9kg and I have no problems recommending a front loader from electrolux

    • Not sure what the reviews say because I haven't bothered looking, but I've owned this model for about three to four years. It's pretty decent as things go, however the control panel is now starting to detect 'presses' even when we're not touching it. It's frustrating but I just turn on the child lock and that stops the issue. That's my only gripe as otherwise it washes clothes fine.

      • You should call that in under ACL while you can, not good enough for a 700-1400 dollar washing machine. That sounds like some kind of short circuit in the board or control panel, they arent cheap and usually come with no/ 3 months warranty

    • I got the model and love it.

    • I've had an Electrolux washer for 7 years. Needed to get it serviced a year ago to fix the door seal. Other than that no issues. Had an Electrolux dryer for 1.5 years with no issues.

    • I touched it with my foot long like 10 years ago and still going. Maybe not the exact model. I have said it before , product review site is only to complain.

  • I would have gotten one but I’m in Brisbane

Seems to be about $100 less than the normal price. Maybe it sold for the rrp years ago?

I purchased this model in 2018 for $800. It's been solid so far. Washes really well. Fairly quiet compare to my previous Samsung machine.

  • I have a 10kg Electrolux front loader that's about 4.5 years old. While we've had no issues with it mechanically I'd buy another brand if I needed a new machine. I feel it is very rough on clothes. I've had lots of clothes develop little holes after being stretched and pulled, even thick things like towels. Not something I've ever seen with 2 previous machines.

    • Choice recommended but Gentleness score 58%

Checked a few others and best was still only 5% higher.

I have this washer. I’ve owned it for the past 3 years, it’s going strong. Great wash performance, lots of different wash options etc. At this price it’s a no brainer.

  • DO NOT BUY. I just checked the specs, it's not a Bosch. Ozbargains favourite washing machine brand.

    • You could buy two Electrolux with that price. Nothing against both brands.

  • I paid 850 for this machine 2.5 years ago. Washers well and haven't had issues yet, but 2.5 years isn't long for a washing machine.

  • Had similar looking 8kg version for about 7-8 years now. Replaced solenoid valve few years ago and door locking mechanism this year. All up around $100 for parts.. Next purchase will likely be German made Bosch

  • friends of mine own an Electrolux washer and it's been a solid machine, despite near commercial usage for several years. I just purchased a Bosch and as it is only a few days old, cannot comment on durability. I would think there is a range of durability with all brands from great to poor. This seems like a great price for this model.

  • I have the exact model. Been using for nearly 4 years now (around 4 times a week) - no issues whatsoever.
