  • This or GSP 602?

    • 602s 3.5mm audio jack - Stereo pair
This seems to have some 7.1 channel trickery with USB interface

May as well get Dolby Atmos or DTS:X headsets if you're going this far for fake surround sound….

  • Is this related to Epos Audio or just a coincidence?

I also just found out the Sennheiser audio division has been sold to another company.

    • Originally branded as Sennheiser, but the two companies that made them split up and forced a rebranding of the gaming range to Epos.

TLDR is Sennheiser once made headsets alongside Demant - until they decided last year to split and focus on different things. Now Demant own, design and manufacture EPOS headsets but still carry the Sennhesier tag. I haven’t tried these headsets so I can’t comment on build quality or listening experience but seems like Demant wanted in on the “gaming” faction and why not use Sennheiser to do so?

Pretty orchestrated if you ask me haha

  • Anyone recommend these?

    • Depends. I'm a Sennheiser fan from way back so got these when they were around the $400 mark. A lot of people complained they were too quiet but I can only imagine they just didn't realise there was a volume wheel on the side as they are perfectly loud.
They have great build quality, sound quality & a beautiful quality mic.
They are open backed so you can hear outside noise which suits me.
The 7.1 feature is nice but I don't really use it.
My only problem is that they are quite tight on my larger head so are not overly comfortable for long wear sessions.
They have adjustment on the band but even on the wider setting I still find them too tight.
This is something that will vary between people so hard to recommend them or not recommend them just based on this.
I've since moved to a Logitech G733 due to being wireless & got them on a deal. Much comfier for a long periods but I miss the open back & lift up mic & mic quality.

      • Awesome thanks so much ☺️

    • I have a pair when mwave was selling these for $99.
      Bloody good headphones, bloody good.

I returned my xbox wireless headset and changed over to these ones. Sound is great, good bass but not overwhelming.
Suitable for music too. I find them way more comfortable than the xbox ones.
They advertise them as broadcast level mic and my friends over discord would agree.

Only complaint is that they made the usb dongle way too far to be easily reached, but considering there's only one 7.1 on/off button and one light on that thing, and you can use their software to toggle 7.1 on/off, it's not unbearable.
Plus if you use an amplifier or something, 3.5mm cable for these things are about 10-20 bucks, which I have bought.

  • Has a military vibe to it.

    • You meant the greenish plastic tabs?
They actually ship a pair of black ones which I liked better.

  • Thanks for Posting. Bought one as my work Plantronics were dying - hope these live up to the reviews.
