Think these were the ones that JB had for 15% off for 98$ or something, CMR and can be shucked?

    • SMR and it can be shucked.

      • Is smr the good one? Hard to remember and everyone is obsessed about it.

        • We’re obsessed with smr because we want to avoid it like the plague.

          • @Awesomandy: How to recognise when a HDD is SMR? Is it written in the specifications?

            • @Laziofogna: All 2.5 drives on the market are are SMR now. They are not too bad for storage, but random write performance will suffer.

    • Yep, I got one in that sale

Hmm waited too long, iOS lol.
I'm sure they are still fine for data drives, still got a 2gb 3.5" I could retire or use for something else.

          • @DiscountForThee: Officeworks weren't picking up their phone, my local store saying low stock, may be worth a drive down there.
These should be fine for a working data drive right? or is a 3.5" mechanical drive still better?
I think it may be a bit slow these days? (WD20EARS-00MVWB0 SATA 3Gb/s)
Something like an 8 or 10TB Seagate IronWolf NAS 3.5" HDD SATA woudl probably be better long term, maybe too noisy for a pc on the desk I suppose.

            Cheers,

the One Touch is equipped with a 5TB hard drive and a bus-powered USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) interface

This should be fairly quick as an external, but would probably shuck it

  • i thought we cant stack 3% gift cards with afterpay anymore?

    • -1

Still works. I’ve stacked $1,300 worth of gift cards with the Afterpay code

    • +1

You can but not the full amount. For example a $500 item can be with $490 worth of gift cards and $10 charged to afterpay
