I would be weary of this model.

I have twice had issues with it where the headphone made a weird crackling noise with BT on.

Had it replaced and it did it again a few weeks later.

Its apparently a common issue if you search online too.

    • Interesting. Mine were perfectly fine. Probably because I haven't used them much yet?

      • I may have been unlucky but even at the price of $78 i got it for, (if they were working) I dont think they are worth it.

My pair of Taotronics i got for $50 odd a few years ago was much better quality but only was replaced because the hinge broke after 2-3 years of heavy daily use. (gaming, work, music etc.)

        • What is your source device for the taotronics? They sound so muddy and bassy when paired to my oppo and samsung mobiles. These are comparatively balanced.

          • @usbc activist: I used it with my Nintendo Switch, Iphone XS Max and 12 max pro, my surface laptop 2 etc.

I admit the sound wasn't as good as my XM3 but for the price and the ANC it was priced well.

I used it also for sleeping for the ANC as well

  • I picked these up for $79 at aldi 24th of July and they are alright… you have to mess with the EQ to get them to sound normal though which was odd.

  • I thought these are $104 at BigW and $99 on Amazon? Sale might be over…

  • Do the microphones on these work with the wired connection?

Also do they work while charging?

    • +1

The cable has a mic and remote. It will be lot better capable than the wireless one.

      • Interesting, thanks. So basically, even if the battery is completely drained, they're still functional with the cable, as a wired set of headphones?

        • +1

Yup you can used them wired for meetings and calls even if battery drains out. Very few wireless headphones give you a nice cable with mic and remote.
If you do not already know, you can also use them wired with active noise canceling ON.

          • @usbc activist: Awesome! Thanks a lot for this detailed review

          • @usbc activist: I'm dumb - how do you turn ANC on when connected wired?
The manual and FAQ's don't have much detail.

            • @Weshouldgetsushi: When the auxillary cable is plugged in, if you press the button to turn on the headphones, they detect that the cable is inserted, they only turn on the active noise canceling and keep the bluetooth off.

  • check the reviews for JBL products, many have issues

  • Bought a pair for $79 from Aldi a few weeks ago. Took em back the next day. Bluetooth stuttering issues and poor sound quality. Also, you have to install the stupid JBL app if you want to turn on noise cancelling (which did nothing anyway). Avoid this model imo.
