        • Pro tip: get out before everyone realises your business has more nothing than an episode of Seinfeld

    • CBA invested $30 million into Little Birdie to integrate direct with StepPay, wanting to provide a comparable product to Afterpay’s in-app shopping platform.

      • +1

Doesnt make sense though. Should have just promoted StepPay directly as backed by CBA and get the big online shopping names out there (Catch, Amazon, Kogan, eBay) to accept it as a form of payment.

    • $30mil funding and no app?

  • +3

I bet more than half of those that complain will at least attempt to get some items and when failed, they will come back here and whine..

    • That seems to be the flavour on here. People bîtching and moaning cos they didn't get something for free, and shouting from the rooftop when they save 5% off something. Strange little lot on here.

  • How are we supposed to know what time which item is dropping? Just guess?

    • +6

Seriously I wouldn't waste your time . They have a major advertising campaign going so its going to be like 30-40K of people hitting at the big targets of 100 lol .

  • can't wait for this to launch. Good luck!

  • +1

Getting vaccinated that day + time, but guarantee it'd be near impossible to get almost any of those items, either way.

    • What time does it launch exactly?

      • I saw another person's comment of 10AM, then must've just hallucinated that it said that in the post, too.

        • +1

Oof! Thanks for letting me know though mate.

  • I am thinking I could get lucky, given 99.975% of traditional OzBargainers will instinctively aim for the cheapest item available … i.e. free pizza LOL

  • No harm in trying luck. What time it starts?
Midnight or 10AM like eBay Plus sales.

  • How do we know which platforms are the items going to be sold? Like ebay or nintendo store or…?

  • +2
  • +1

Is this website like price hipster Australian version

  • +2

All the good items will be gone in 20 seconds.

  • +10

    Should be moved to competitions.

    • -1

Competitions don't require you to spend money, and the chance of purchasing an item is much higher.

      Invalid neg.

  • +1

The sites like those mobile games that spam click me, anyways…

Free Dominos pizza, no win delete account.

  • Weird, Apple does not show up as a technology brand to follow but I can follow brands like LG, Google, Samsung etc. Any reason why this is so?

  • -6

I got an email from them after clicking the link… Unsolicited email, I didn't even register

    • +1

you probably obtained a voucher from them earlier this year or participated in their competition?

      • Never heard of them until I saw this post.

        First email from them

    • Pretty sure that's not possible.

    • you dont get emails from anyone just by clicking a link.

  • Interested to understand who the target audience is for Little Birdie? Are they private or government run?

It's promising to provide a combination of pricehipster/staticice/ozbargain based on members preferences, yet not bombard members with spammorethandaily offers like groupon/catch/kogan/cottonon.

If they didn't notice, we're in a pandemic where uncertainty is driving people to reduce disposable income spending and reduce expenses and debt.

  • -6

    I can't find Soniq 65" 4K TV — $299 :)

  • +2

With all the SMS bombing from birdie, being much worse then kogan, if I don't get that free pizza I'm unsubscribing and doing a review on products.com about the sites shottyness

    • Is shottyness the hip version of shytyness?

  • Do we know what time this launch starts? Can only see the days of 24-26th.

  • Anyone know whether Nintendo Switch on this promotion is the new OLED version or the old one?
Based on their picture, I presume it will be the old version?

    • +1

Buy now think later. Assuming you can secure one during the rush.

      • If it is non OLED version, I will pass on this deal so others who never own Nintendo Switch can have one…

  • +1

Anyone knows when they start dropping deals for tomorrow?

    • +1

Everyone wants to know, but the more people that tell, the less chance they'll get to scoring the deal they want…

  • +1

I hope they do this after 6pm.

  • +2

So this website just looks like price hipster and ozbargained combined wonder how well it will do

  • +2

I tried search results on 2tb nvme drives. The littlebirdie site displayed 99% crap I didn't search for. Not a good start.

If I search for 2tb then I don't want results for enclosures or 500gb drives etc..

    • so just like amazon search then…

I was looking for DDR4 SODIMM memory sticks from amazon and even with "SODIMM" I kept getting desktop DDR4 rams in results.

    • +1

      Thanks justtoreply!

This is very solid feedback, it's greatly appreciated and I will make sure it's passed on.

      • +1

-search uses awful logic. Using an OR operator instead of AND when multiple words are searched for? NO. Guaranteed way to get useless results.

-that would be ok if quotes around search terms functioned. They don't. Yikes!

-refreshing a page clears filters. No!

-can't kill categories from appearing in the main feed. Ie: I want to kill all fashion.

-it fails to find the best price. Possibly because it also fails to group some of the same items together

-the whole site is spammy "last chance" aka Catch style. I can't tell if there's any real deals at all. I won't be using it.

It was better when it was $20 off vouchers (even though i never even used one of the vouchers) because i knew i could log in, get one, not stare at what is badly filtered and not lowest price product adverts

  • +14

First impression, the site is just trying a tad too hard. Every deal has a tagline to supposedly drive the sense of urgency, but has a completely opposite effect because it’s used everywhere - for example “Shop fast, won’t last”, “Best price now”, “Don’t miss out” & “Get in fast”.

    Seriously?

Also the taglines are somewhat misleading. For example, when I searched for Sonos Sub Gen3 White from TGG has “Best price now” at $999, and next to it, the same item at HN is listed at $995. Best price indeed.

  • Woohoo

  • Tontine Ergonomic Anti-snore Pillow is $20 at Spotlight with free C&C. Do you have to pay delivery for the deals?

    • Update: It looks like my suspicions were correct on the postage.

  • +5

So how exactly does the launch sales work? I can’t see any listings on there at all with the prices listed.
Are we supposed to just continuously refresh a search for the next 48hrs in the hope that the item (at the advertised price) will suddenly appear?

  • +3

    Are we there yet?

  • The site is getting hammered hard already.
Edit: The front page of the site suggests that the APPs will be "tonight."

    • Looks like have to skip tea/ early bed!

      • -4

yea so what time do you think "tonight" is

        • I’m just archiving this - in case they decided to pull back this info.

I obviously wouldn’t know what time tonight is either…

  • +12

It is a weird site. Every time, I open the site, it asks me to sign up. On clicking the sign up button, it says already signed in and the page goes back to the home page. I cannot find the product that I was looking for.

    • agree

    • +1

Yeah, the Launch promo just links to the registration page.

The search function is working very intermittantly, and seems to have some very, very fuzzy logic attached to it.

      • +2

My rice cooker has better fuzzy logic

  • Is $299 for the switch worth it or is it better to get the newer version with a game bundle? I was thinking of getting a Switch for myself plus buy the usual Mario Kart game.

    • wait for the new OLED one goes down to $350 ish.

    • The OLED switch is not worth $200 more.

    • "Everything you want now is worth its price. But remember, most of the things that you want will depreciate in value over time, so by timing your wants, you can buy everything at the price they're worth. It's all a matter of spending time versus spending money." ~Anonymous

What a mess of a site

    • I would really like to know the name of the agency that built this site.

  • Got the Coles code!

    (edited)

I refreshed and a new code was given.. not sure how this works :D

    • +4

If you are not going to use the code, let other people redeem it.

      • I initially thought the code was generic being BirdieLittleBirdie.

    • Where were you refreshing?

      • +1

Well, technically I clicked on the URL I linked above to make sure the link works. I didn't expect a new code (and really, it shouldn't generate a new code by going to the same page).

        BIRDIE+2x Alphanumeric = 36X36 = 1296. You've got more than a 1/3 chance of guessing a code…

    • +1

      Mine is BIRDIE6B
Don't need it but please comment if you use it so you don't waste other people's time :)

      • +1

        Mine is BIRDIEFU

        • +1

          Mine is BIRDIECN
Feel free to use it :)

  • +2

    That's not very unique lol

    • What does your code end with?

      • Mine is B

      • Mines A so at least a little unique

    • +2

Yeah someone can easily steal voucher code by guessing it, so would have to use fast or just not bother, lol.

      • +3

only if you are planning to use it…

15 off 120 is not an "amazing" deal anyway

  • +8

Coupon stacks with $10 off $100 spend for first C&C order with "CLICK10" to get $25 off $120 spend.

Should just be able to create a new account to use both together.

  • +5

    the website design is horrible

    • +3

I find it a little too busy and cluttered with logos and images. OzB is much easier to browse.

  • -1

Most confusing site ever, search is useless, launch event seems to be just for getting attention

    • +2

Imagine a promotional event for the purpose of promoting :O

  • +1

No verification of email address when you sign up. Total amateurs!

    • +1

      Yep, bots have it ez

Umm, why does it say all claimed if it's still giving me a code? Or does it just recycle someone else's?

    • +3

Lmao I got that exact code, check my comment above

      • +1

Lol wonder what the rep has to say about this 😂

        • 500 generic multi use codes?

  • Can’t see bluey plush toy anywhere apart from promo page

    • +1

      it’s not started yet AFAIK

    • There's a banner for Tontine Ergonomic Anti-snore Pillow Coming up this afternoon, so I'd assume that's next.

    • +1

I imagine that’s one of the less popular items. I reckon you’ll get it.

  • +1

Theres a paid ad for this site on 9 news tonight

    • That’s not good

      • +5

        If that airs we’re doomed
