HP Printer Bluetooth Won't Connect

It's been driving me mad for last 3 hours, it used to work a year ago but now when I try connect to my HP AMP 120 it only connects to my Bluetooth speaker on that printer but the printer won't print. I'm using he eprint app and tried AirPrint which both used to work now it just won't print on the apps saying can't detect a printer?

Think you're conflating different things which is causing confusion.

That printer has a built-in Bluetooth speaker, as odd as that sounds, but does not print over Bluetooth.

AirPrint does not use the Bluetooth protocol, it's wireless LAN.

Thanks I have check manuals, but like mentioned how ever I had this set up it used to print without issues but leaving it over 1.5 years and restarting it I'm having this issue.

I thought most blue tooth printers can print directly with out having a wifi?

I think I found the source of the issue looks like the wifi has a password, any idea what the password would be never made a pw for it and can't find whatever the default PW is in the manual.

I done this exactly, the iOS and Android eprint apps won't detect the printer only the wifi and Bluetooth does, the apps won't detect the printer.

      • You won't find the wi-fi password in the manual of your printer, as it's set by your internet router. It's what you use to connect with your computer, your laptop, anything else.

Try looking on your internet router, often the wireless details will be printed on there.

  • I have always printed on my iPhone with ePrint hp app, seems to be connected before without a modem, never had any modems anyway just the phone, I’m not very computer savvy if you can see what the issue is.

Printed a status report and just says the printer is not connected to a network.

Thought when you connnect via Bluetooth it also connects wireless printing with out wifi required?
I’m now suspecting it to be faulty, used to switch it on and turn in Bluetooth and connects automatically, then was able to print.

Sorry if I’m not being clear with the information, just hard to grab the end of this problem.

    • Basically the above responses point you to a solution, but if you haven’t picked it up you told them they know nothing, you got it to work over BT without a wifi before and now conclude the printer is faulty.

      No

  • If your wifi password isn't recorded on your modem/router, or on a card that came with it, but you have a Windows 10 computer or laptop connected via wifi, you can find out your wifi password using this process:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/find-your-wi-fi-…

Or, if you have a phone or something running Android 10 or later that is connected to your wifi network, you can find out your wifi password like this:

  • Here's a possible solution; I messed up a setting on my HP printer a while back and now need to change my Wi-Fi network to the printer to get it to work. Eg:
    1. Turn on printer.
    2. Go to phone settings>wi-fi network>select HP printer as the network.
    3. Print whatever then switch back to normal wi-fi network.
I'm sure there is an easy fix on my printer btw but I print once every six months at the most so not worth the effort.

  • Sounds like you were using WI-FI direct and printing through the app. First make sure WIFI-Direct is turned on and then connect to the printer wifi with your iPhone. Open the app and hopefully it finally sees/connects to printer.

This should be the correct manual, page 65:

  • Printer is a pos

If you have changed your wifi settings on your router you need to reset the printer settings and start the whole process of configuring the printer from the start, it's not easy.

I gave up doing it so I just connect to my printer using a cable

  • Thanks guys finally got it working playing around and reading forums etc, only had to press info button to print status report that gave me the password for the printer I must have deleted the connection or reset it sometime ago.

  • How old is the printer ???

If its a inkjet printer consider throwing it in the garbage, than to go over the hassel of ink replacing or this random trouble-shootings, and buy a used laser printer, i find Brother MFC printers are very good.
