Got an email today, it's back on. $20 coupon that can include postage with the code BIRTHDAY1. I used it last time and couldn't use it again but I assume it works for first time redeemers.

  • Awesome, but i feel guilty as hell buying it, feels like im stealing :O

  • this is a great deal i got a free pack of 5 sand baggers
for the value of $19.90 but with the coupon FREE :)

  • these things are pretty shoddy quality though. not surprised if the goods they get come from the reject shop. so they're not really spending all that much money on their b'day promotions

  • will it break 100 pos+ vote ????

    • This week's winner!?!?

      [ :- { )

      • record broke !! 100 pos+ vote !

        • Uh Oh. Now Scotty's going to have to change the coding to cope with the votes!!!

          [ :- { )

          • @TeaEarlGreyHot: It's like the good old days when the petrol price was still two digits. And when it occasionally breaks the 100 barrier, the numbers always looked a bit funny (too close together etc).

            • @cacbm: Blimey, you must be as old as I am cacbm…
And you try and tell young people today that,, and they WON'T believe you!!!

              [ :- { )

              • @TeaEarlGreyHot: Gawd I must be old too! I can remember when petrol was waaaay under $1.00.

                • @chichi: Right!!
                  You think you’re old…
I remember when petrol reached $1.00 per gallon!…
…and when after hours petrol was delivered by putting 20c pieces in the slot of an orange metal machine built into the wall of the servo’,,, and even then you couldn’t get more than $2.00 worth of petrol at a time…
And you try and tell young people today that!…
…and they’ll probably fall asleep due to boredom. Ungrateful little bastards. Don’t they realise that we fought and died in three World Wars so that they could slope around with the arse hanging out of their trousers, feeling SOOOO bloody hard done by!!!

                  [ :- { )

          • @TeaEarlGreyHot: Oh no! You broke my stuff! Sob sob…

I guess the fonts just need to get progressively smaller when it gets more votes. It might become unreable when 4,192,953 people voted on the same deal.

Moreover, we are still waiting to hear whether anyone has actually received their purchases from BigGift.com.au.

  • Expired :(, lucky order one already

  • Anyone tried using the $20 coupon to buy a $50 giftcard and then use the credit in that giftcard to buy another giftcard with another $20 discount? Hence, unlimited credit for just $30 when you purchase the first giftcard?

    • Obviously you didn't try it YEH!?
      [ :- { )

      • It worked when I applied the coupon to purchase the giftcard ($50-$20) , but I felt guilty and didn't continue with the transaction. o_O

  • it has now expired :(

  • my order was cancelled couple of days later. no email or exlapanation!!

    • That's weird. Well, I haven't had any confirmation of delivery yet, so there might be this slight chance that they are working through the cancellations now.

      • You can see your order status when you log into their site, and mine currently say "processing". It's possible that they might be working through the cancellation process but let's hope it's not the case.

  • My orders are currently:
    1 x invoiced
    2 x processing
    3 x cancelled
Yes, I'd say they're working through and cancelling orders.

    • Ah well, at least we all tried. :)

My says invoiced by the way, so I gather that would be just a matter of time before it becomes processing -> cancelled.

  • According to someone on Whirlpool:

Just got this email from support

Sorry for the delay, we received over 3000 orders from the Birthday promo so the warehouse is slightly behind. Your stock will be dispatched early this week.

    3000 orders… Go Whirlpool!

  • Had an order cancelled with the following message:
    Good Morning,

Your was order cancelled because the Birthday1 offer was only valid for one purchase per household.
    Kind Regards

My only beef with this is that this was not recorded anywhere - if offering a deal, these things should be clearly stated (ie either they should state it in their website OR if they have done so then the person who posts the deal should record this in their post)

  • So with that excuse, shouldn't they honour one order to a household?

  • I received my order today along with a colour catalogue. I ordered a travel sized faux croc travel jewellery case which is good quality and exactly what I wanted with plenty of room for 8 rings and compartments for everything. I had scoured the stores looking for something like this and found nothing remotely as good. The dept. stores were charging around $40 for smaller poorly designed travel cases which would not close when you put your rings in! With the discount I paid only $4.95. Happy customer.

  • Orders cancelled left right and centre. Only one that I can see of mine that didn't get cancelled was the one I paid for.

I wonder what the legality of the situation is. Last time I checked, if you order something from any store and they accept your order as confirmed (like they did here), they can't cancel it. Especially not if their T&C don't say anything about the usage of the code..I'd like to see where they say 1 per household.

May be worth following up if I have the time…

  • You are right in my understanding - I think they messed up by not including anything in T&C's. Can't see it making any difference though, but if you do follow it up then let us know!

  • I got my order this morning. A couple of wallets for free, nice.

  • been waiting for more than 2 weeks and nothing is here yet, hope it comes

  • Nothing for me yet. I had two orders and one was cancelled - the other says 'invoiced'.

  • Hi, wondering whether anyone received the "Birthday1" offer via email could check to see if the email stated one purchase per household? This is an email reply received from them when asked why the order was cancelled: "Your was order cancelled because the Birthday1 offer was only valid for one purchase per household – this was explained in our email we sent out." Thanks.

    • Hi, my first time posting so I hope this works!!

      The bottom of the eamil read;

      Regards,

      The biggift Team
      www.biggift.com.au

      Offer valid for -
      - From Thursday 4th of September 08 TIL Friday 12th of September 08 9.00am AWST
      - Offer is valid for one purchase per household only - multiple orders will be cancelled

      • Thanks Rae1 for supplying the confirmation as requested by others.
        [ :- { )

  • I just got my Free Tub Buddies from these guys. Delivery took a little long but it worked and they're really good, my kids are gonna love them!!!

  • I got my candles!

  • Got a massager and CD :)

  • My order arrived..but it was the one I paid money for. I guess they couldn't withhold that at all otherwise they'd be in hot water.

It was a decent deal, but still, they haven't honoured the "one purchase per household only" condition either. I ordered something for the rest of my family (different address/name entirely) but nothing's arrived there either.

Good deal, but not if the business won't follow through.

  • Got my 1st order (of 6) OK - 2 x free coffee mugs.
It looks as though the others have been can'd.
But hey, how can you really complain about a freebie?
    Thanks again PeteDude.

    [ :- { )

  • i recieved 3 orders out of 6

    so great deal thankyou :)

  • I got my first order (The one I paid for) a little while ago, but I am still waiting for ANY of my free ones to turn up, and that includes ones I got for my family at different houses with different names… (I emailed about one of my free orders to my household and got the "Your order was cancelled because the Birthday1 offer was only valid for one purchase per household – this was explained in our email we sent out.”

I sent them back an email asking if I would have ever been told of this had I not emailed them, because they would have decided that weeks ago and I've been waiting for the parcels like a fool… >_>

  • Received another 2 of my orders this morning.
That makes 3 out of 6, just like Elicool44.
    So thanks again Pete123.

    Cheers,
    Live Long and Prosper.

  • it's been over 6 weeks and I have yet to receive my item! They dont reply to emails

    • if you haven't received it by now, they may have cancelled your order - have you logged in to check the status of your order?

  • I received one order within a week and the second about 2 weeks later. But you were right in a earlier post, both items looked like they could have been picked up in a $2 shop. But Free is Free!!!!
