i have them. they do the job, but certainly nothing special. app somewhat sucks and only operate on 2.4ghz
Most wifi based smarthome stuff only runs off 2.4ghz and honestly why would you need 5ghz? It's not like you need the data throughput. Plus 2.4ghz has better range and lower energy consumption. And the app is really only needed for initial setup. Once setup and linked to Google Assistant and/or Alexa you never need to use the app again.
I bought a whole bunch, but realised some of my old wired light switchs only have Live wire and missing Neutral.
You need to have both live and neutral for the switch to work. But its pretty good switch and the app is easy to use.
The othe problem is there is no 4-switch so you going to have problems in that scenario.
Same scenario here mate
Have to get a neutral wire or put a capacitance btw neutral and live going out (with a 2 wire switch that doesn't require neutral wire)
Ultimately have to stick with smart lights and plugs or battery operated smart switches e.g. hue dimmer switch only cannot use mains smart switches
Deta makes a 4 switch version you can get through Bunnings: https://www.bunnings.com.au/deta-grid-connect-smart-quad-gan…
I got it, works a treat.
I presume these are not compatible with tasmota…?
Most likely it would as they would probably be rebranded sonoff/tuya devices. That is kogan’s MO after all
If memory serves kogan changed their chips to be the non esp ones.
The user guide states they have a Zigbee repeater. I’d like to use these with SmartThings but am not 100% confident that they aren’t just wifi, not Zigbee enabled.
Probably a copy paste job from similar items
Are they WiFi?
Stack with Karna?
Yes this is a good price. Have been tracking for a while.
Currently the 3 gang switch is cheaper than the 2 gang.
All my switches only have a loop wire. I thought this was the standard in Aus?
Newt houses (maybe 10-15 years) have neutrals
Does anyone know of any switches like these without the tacky blue light to indicate if they are on/off?
Wouldn't mind the same design as long as you could have just a soft white or something for the lighting.

On/Off blue indicator
The blue light indicator can be toggled on or off. To do this open the glass cover and toggle
the white switch on or off.
Snap!
Item description mentions you can turn off the blue light (probs via app)
I presume this is approved to be used in Aus?
"This product is compatible with AU standard switch mounting blocks and clips, requiring a neutral wire for installation."
It is compatible with AU standard switch mounting blocks, so is Xiaomi's Agara switches. But are they approved to be used?
yes. Must be installed by a licensed and qualified electrician.
@PissLUR: May I please ask where does it say that it is approved for used in AU? It just mentions that it is compatible. Approved and compatible are two different things.
I have the Bunnings version of this, and it's great. Flashed with Tasmota to work with Home Assistant. Might actually be the same product, but Bunnings brand it as Deta. Worth noting that the Bunnings version is $45, so might be a better option to avoid shipping and have better returns policy.
The only annoying thing is that you have to look at the button to push it, compared to a traditional rocker switch which you can feel.
Mind to share how to flash it with Tasmota? or link about it.
Thank you
@bwid: I think these were the instructions I followed to install Tasmota: https://www.ozsmartthings.com.au/blogs/news/tech-guide-how-t…
And the Tasmota Blackadder website has details about the pin configuration for each model of switch
This or Shelly?
Completely different product and price point. Personally I think Stitchy is better. Works on Zigbee instead of WIFI and integrates seamlessly with HUE equipment.

I don't see a difference in price point : https://smartguys.com.au/shelly-25-wifi-relay.html
Couldn't find the price of Stictchy.
That's because you should be comparing it with something like this:

@aldroid: got the idea.
I had few DETA smart switches installed, purchased from Bunnings. Even where not needed, I've purchased either 3 or 4 gang switches, the spare switches/buttons can be used for various different automations from what I've read, but am soon to give it a shot.
you need to check if your home has netural wire install before purchase, normal house only has two wire (one live and one earth)
Is there any easy way to check that?
yes, just open up your wall switch, if you found only two wires that means you dont have the netural then this is not for you
Yes i accidentally bought one of the expensive sonoff branded 3 gang switch
And found i cannot use it
Aka learnt the hard way
does anything have these installed at their home - are they any good?
