Frequently asked questions

Thanks to taeyeontrash for confirming you don't need to remain subscribed to Crunchyroll if you're only signing up to get Game Pass. Just remember to cancel the trial.

And also thanks to GoonSack69 for mentioning if you do wish to remain subscribed to Crunchyroll, signing up with an Argentinian VPN brings the price down to ~$1.80/month. This is similar to the Netflix and YouTube Premium deals that have been previously posted.

FYI you can conect to a Argentina server using a vpn and get crunchyroll cheaper, currently paying $1.80 a month.

    • will you get banned when streaming in Australia?

      • +1

I have been paying that amount for 8 months and my account is still fine. Don't use a vpn when streaming, have seen a few people say that they have been banned when streaming with a vpn.

Im trying to pay but it asks for a DNI? tax number? maybe they've barred this?
Edit * nevermind i just changed the country back to australia and put postcode and it let me through. Thanks

    • What are you using for the payment?

      • I'm using my Westpac Debit MasterCard and get charged around $1.80 a month for the $10 plan.

    • Thanks for this, just signed up for the trial, and it shows I will pay the Argentinian rate coming up. I couldn’t signed up using my CC cause it requires a DIN (Argentinian social security number) but it worked with PayPal

Obviously it’s cheaper to sign up to the annual, which works out around $17. I was happy with the free version of Animelab before they got greedy and removed it

I was happy with the free version of Animelab before they got greedy and removed it

They got acquired by Sony and are being merged with Funimation so they don't want anyone using the old site now.

Funimation also has a free tier, just click on Subscribe and then scroll to the bottom of the page to make a free account.

        • But you can’t view on, for example, the Apple TV or other device expect the PC, with the free tier. With Animelab that was possible. Oh well :(

          • @Psygnosis: I mainly used Animelab on my desktop PC or my TV web browser, no apps. The Funimation player is garbage on desktop, doesn't take up the full browser screen like animelab, it's restricted to a tiny sized player. I don't want it to go fullscreen just be a 1080p sized window on my screen.

In my profile I've selected Japanese as my preferred language but everything still starts playing in English until I manually change it.

The Animelab site was way better designed and the player was better. I could also download any videos from Animelab as MP4 but if you try on Funimation they have DRM encryption and won't play.

  • Anyone know any decent deals for Xbox game pass for Xbox? Thanks

    • +2

use Bing and edge, get points, redeem for free, if you are patient enough that it

  • +1

Valid for new Xbox Game Pass members only.

Should put that in the title or description I think

    • This is the second line in the post, but I've now added it to the title and made it bold.

My Xbox game pass trial is ending in a few days :-(

    • Mine is ending on 13 Aug :(

      • Have you found the solution yet? :-)
My trial also ends on the same day - this Friday

        • +2

I might just continue the subscription for one or two more months to see - I do use it every day and I don't really want to miss Halo Infinite….

  • +1

This is a good deal, also ironic since Sony now own Crunchyroll, I don't see this offer repeating itself!

  • +3

You don't even need to buy crunchyroll premium lol, the offer's available on the free premium trial. And no, can confirm you don't need to remain signed up with premium - you get a one use 3 month code with sign-up

  • +5

    Go this after signing up.
Currently out of codes. More coming next Wednesday.

    • same. :/

I received the notice that they were currently out of codes, but I was fortunate to get a code by chance, as when I duplicated the webpage to a new browser tab, a code was displayed in the new tab.

  • Can we use this and get the 4 month free spottily premium still?

  • Redeemed my code last night.

Make sure your ad blocker is disabled!

  • Thanks, got the code immediately. Sadly, I had to create a new Microsoft account to redeem it (my existing one used a trial before), but it is easy to sign in with a different account in Windows and collect achievements and statistics with the old one. Now, I can try Humankind.

Presently out of codes, " more coming wednesday"

  • Signed up today, no codes available.

    Isn't this blatantly false advertising?

    • +1

It said the same thing for me, I turned off my AdBlocker and then the code appeared and Redeem button worked.
