Not a bad price at all for this 500gb m.2 nvme. Its DRAMless FYI
If you want low cost nvme with DRAM, check Crucial P1 at https://www.amazon.com.au/Crucial-NAND-NVMe-PCIe-M-2/dp/B07J…

Still appears to be cheapest since Feb/Mar?
It was down to 64 last night from HT via Amazon, with Amazon pricing theirs at 65.
How does this compare to the Gigabyte deal that was posted yesterday?
Appears it's $1 cheaper if delivered by Harris Tech.
high capacity
I bought a 1TB SN550 earlier this year as my first nvme SSD, and now I regret that I haven't bought 2TB
I cannot switch back to mechanical HDD anymore
Hmmm, this post makes me highly consider going for 2TB instead of the 1TB I was thinking of for my new build lol. GOD DAMN IT
Can just get 2 seperate drives? 1TB and like 500gb, if your mobo has 2 slots though
My mobo MSI B450M Mortar Max can only handle one full speed m.2 I believe
@Ilikecars: A regular SATA SSD isn't really that bad, especially if its not a boot drive.
@Cronium: I will just get a 1or 2tb nvme m.2 and be done with it. But yeh can then go Sata SSD for extra storage if i need. good call
2tb sn550 is about the same price as super fast 1tb pcie4 nvme
do they make similar capacity drives in m2 Sata still? Need to upgrade a laptop.
I found m.2 sata is more expensive than m.2 nvme these days
What's the cheapest 2tb m2 around?
Not sure but sn550 2tb is $310 on amazon
Kingston NV1 is the absolute cheapest you can go
Not sure if its just me… but I got $10 off too…
"Get $10 off only on the Amazon mobile app. Enter code AUG21 at checkout. "
prob targeted..?
Damn I think it's targetted, instant purchase for me otherwise
Yeh you're right… its targeted to Amazon n00bs…
Those enterprise intel ml graded ssd's while old s3700 series, they however stay at transfer with no degredation or slow down for 24 hours non stop reading and writing, absolute beasts if 800gig a problem for you
I am patiently waiting for a deal for sn550, a2000 or another Samsung promotion.
Can anyone recommend a good ssd enclosure for m.2 SSDs? I have no idea if the ones on Amazon or Ebay are good quality because I really don’t want to get any data errors.
I’ve been using HDDs but I think its time to move on.
Sabrent all day!!
Is this compatible with Macbook Air 13 inch Early 2015? Do i need any further adapters etc?
The Crucial p2 works great with our 2 macbook air 2015s, have installed 2 500gb over past 6 months. Fast enough, maybe slightly less battery life but not really an issue. Needs nvme adapter, have used both Sintech (as recommended by most sites showing how to do this) and a no-brand adapter too, both bought off ebay and seem to work the same.
How do I install this in my 6 year old Acer laptop that has a hdd?
Very much doubt it has an M.2 slot, so may need adapter.
Thanks
M.2 > SATA adapters only applies to M.2 SATA drives… not M.2 NVMe drives ….
It’s likely you can just buy a 2.5” SATA SSD which will be cheap, will give you 95% of the real world benefit and will slot into exactly the same slot as your current 2.5” HDD with no adapter
Agreed, something like the Cruical MX500 which has DRAM will provide similar enough real world performance, especially for games.
Maybe even better, as the P2 is DRAMless.
Good point will do.
Good price thanks OP.
However I am waiting for a good 1tb deal…
Thanks, time to give that piece of junk a new life.
P1 is the same price at Scorptec, too, if you can be bothered picking up / allowed to drive there.

Anyone know if this will work on a Mac Pro 6,1/TrashCan Mac
This vs P1? P1 has DRAM but is QLC, and slower speeds. Is DRAM more important?
https://premiumbuilds.com/comparisons/crucial-p1-vs-p2/
I thought this line was interesting…
" the Crucial P2 also makes use of a much faster TLC NAND, which is more reliable and less prone to errors that the Crucial P1’s QLC flash – which is generally not recommended to be an operating system’s primary drive. "
Thanks for the link, did some other research and it seems like P2 may with have QLC or TLC, which is a bit of a gamble. But they're both the same price, really can't decide between them still.
P2s have TLC but DRAMless
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/crucial-p2-m-2-nvme-ssd
P1 have QLC but with DRAM
At those speeds, the difference is negligible imo. Also, to exhaust the P1's "low lifespan", you'd still have to write ~50gb every day for 5 years or something. Buy P2 if they are the same price, but can't go wrong with either.
Is this the type that'll work in a ps5?
Back up to $73.50 now
3C reports recent price increase.
