    this doesn't really look like a deal…more like advertising…

I buy my text books online from overseas. Same books, but usually half the price of local prices.

    • Yeah that method worked well for me. Up until the missus joined Uni, and in her science course they have specified the "Australian Edition" for all her text books. $500+ in books for 3 units, not cool for 13 weeks of use.

But isn't 12.5% off RRP expensive?
Anyway there's www.booko.com.au if you are looking for books.

  • Do you have any price examples?

  • since you are new to posting in ozb.. readers here hate to see rrp.
to me, rrp just stands for Retail Ripoff Price. you just have to do better.

  • Basically my uni offers 10% off, and the prices are competitive already.

The website is a fail and a half. What's stopping them bumping up price 10% instore and then saying HURR DURR 12.5% off.

    Just sayin…

  • I don't get it. Where's the bargain? I thought this was OzBargain.

    • No, that was before this was 'bargain' was posted. Now its OzAdverts.

      Sus looking website.

On the "About" page it says "We provide textbooks to major university in WA at a lowest possible price". OP you should put that in your title if you can cater only for WA students on this deal as there's no mention of delivery costs to other Australian locations. And a round of grammar and proof reading ("universities" not "university") would be great.

Most smart uni students use textbook exchange. My net expenditure on law books is close to $0 at the end of the year because the books hold their value so well (sometimes you can sell at a higher price than buying). This is only really handy if your course requires the use of a 2012 edition book.

  • Ohhh. I remember these guys - they were around during my university days and used to be known as Encompass. They were marginally cheaper back then but now that students have online options which are cheaper, I don't see why they would go back there. I agree - this is more of advertising.

  • never buy from uni bookshop or any australian retailers unless you have no other choice. bookdepository is where i get all of my books, and once you are done with them you can sell them for the same price you paid new.

    • you can sell to book depository?

  • this is an ad, as if printing little squared of paper and littering the university with them wasn't cheap enough…
