    • Already included that in the deal above

      • +2

Dropped even further on Amazon $499 now

        • Should I try to update the deal or just submit a new deal?
EDIT: Looks like someone already submitted new deal

  • I got some in-store only gift cards but I am in lockdown. Is there any ways to pay this watch with this?
Maybe I can buy online and when in-store ask to swap the online payment with the gift card?

    cheers

    • +5

@ets27 I recently made a purchase through their telesales department. Was a great experience. Very simple and straightforward. I would do it again.

      • Call up their sales team
      • get them to price match - tell them the site and what to look for - they will confirm it matches and apply the discount
      • they took my delivery details
      • sent a link to my mobile which took me through to a JB shopping cart populated with all the details I had discussed with their rep
      • entered my Gift cards/vouchers and completed the purchase.

      Hope that helps.

      • -1

        Yes that helps!
Were your GC supposed to be used in-store only?

  • +21

Nice price (I got mine for $749 in the middle of last year). Changed my outlook on health and fitness, used the inbuilt running app and did a training plan, it was excellent. I also used a few of the weight and core exercises (program into watch and counts your reps and breaks etc while doing the exercises.

Also used the maps and saved my skin on a couple of remote SE QLD hikes/walks.

I got a $10 3x pack of screen protectors off Amazon for it and has worked a gem. I cracked one of the screen protectors on an obstacle course (probably would have done same damage without it).

Hope this helps with anyone on the fence.

    • +2

      Hello fellow Joe,
Did you find most of these things on the watch? I’ve got one and have struggled to find the training plan/exercises useful, but I’ve mainly been looking on the app.

I feel like this watch has so much potential that I don’t use, would love to get some tips from people who are using it right.

      • +4

Yeah no worries it's easy to find once you know on the Garmin Connect app, left on drop downs- then training and you search through them and add to your list/ watch.

Also for running it's on the very bottom bar.

I found sometimes it's a pain to syncs and takes a while for them to load on the watch. It eventually works though.

Anymore help needed let me know.

      • Gday Joe, wondering how you find it for running? I broke my vivoactive3 and looking for a replacement, I tried this on and found it pretty heavy on the wrist, I run half maras every now and then, not sure whether this or the forerunner 245m. Thoughts?

        • +2

Not Joe, but I upgraded from a forerunner 235 to a fenix 6 sapphire when they were on sale.

I don't think the fenix gives you anything extra for running itself over the cheaper & lighter fr245m.

Personally I don't mind the extra weight of the fenix at all on long runs - but that is very much personal preference.

And love the look & feel of the fenix and the extra features - particularly maps & navigation. If you are also a bushwalker or trail runner I'd say spend the extra on the fenix.
Its not hard to upload a route and navigation works well.

        • +3

I got used to it in not time at all, the first time I wore it I thought it was a brick- yeah the first few weeks were a bit rough, it felt clunky and heavy (used to wear a basic Timex wrist watch).

I got used to it in no time, cycling, running, walking, gym and work it feels A-OK (was a pain to wear in boxing)

It is awesome for running, I manually created routes I normally do- so I could log times etc and it's great. You get interval beeps if you are or aren't on pace- or if you've taken a wrong route or street it frantically beeps until you're on course and self adjusts (when using navigation in running)

          • +1

@JoeJoog: Thanks Joe and Litoria, appreciate both your insights.

    • +1

Same here. If you follow the coach programs the results are great.

  • +3

    Also, same price at rebel

  • Sapphire glass?

    • Nope

    • +1

Nope - the Sapphire has exactly the same features as the Pro + Sapphire glass.

  • +1

The 245M is also on sale, down to $349 in many places (from a nominal RRP of $579). Its a much more exercise specific watch, rather than a 'lifestyle smart watch'

Few extra percent off through cash rewards etc depending on which shop you buy it from (eg Rebel 3.5%)

    • aqua on Kogan showing as $289

    • +7

Lifestyle? The Fenix series is much more adventure and multisport oriented, with larger battery life, inreach satellite phone compatibility, additional sports, and an expedition mode.

The 245 series are more running specific, but I definitely wouldn't classify Fenix as "lifestyle"

  • Got the pro solar last week for $750. I’ve taken out of package and worn once. Too late to replace?

  • Oh god, just yesterday bought Venu 2. Should I return it and get this one instead? Mainly looking for sleep tracking and gym strength exercises.

    • +2

Check Garmin Instinct. I just sold one on ebay for $200 as I got fenix 6 sapphire. They good

      • Garmin Instinct are too bulky and also their readings are buggy. I've been speaking with support for some time and only solution they have is everytime I go for a run or bike ride is to calibrate altimeter & barometer sensors.

        • Bit bulky but very lightweight. And display is super contrast compared to colour ones. I had no sensor problems too, for a year I had it

        • I had the Instinct Solar before upgrading to the Fenix 6 Sapphire. It's an excellent watch and the battery lasts forever, a lot longer than my Fenix 6. Main reason for upgrading is because I wanted some of the training metrics from the Fenix which the Instinct doesn't have, other than that, it's a solid watch.

          • @ZippyRoo: My main reason was maps, still had not figured it out but now i have maps!

    • +1

Keep the Venu. Fenix 6 doesn't have the muscle group graphics and workout animations for strength training like the Venu 2, it's generally more focused towards gym-related activities whereas the Fenix 6 is at the pinnacle of outdoor activity support (with good indoor support too). Fenix 6 also doesn't have the new HR sensor array like the Venu 2 which helps with sleep tracking accuracy.

    • +10

I just don't trust Kogan.. I hate their fake reviews and other tactics e.g. those pop-ups telling who bought what! Haven't had much luck with them and I avoid them like plague so I will be happy to pay more and buy things from elsewhere, just for the peace of mind. Others might have had better experience with Kogan.

      • +1

Last time ( and by last I mean…LAST!) I bought from Kogan, I have been bombarded dy text and emails for a good 2-3 weeks. Never again.

        • Haha yeah their emailing spam is profilic. If you don't unsubscribe, by the 2-3 week mark you'll be copping 3+ per day.

That said, I'm bought my last two mobile phones (bought $1k+), and my 245 Music from them, no issues. Had a warranty claim on my 245 Music direct with Garmin Australia and they were fantastic.

I really don't know how to rate Garmin on their build quality. The items feel amazing, aren't bloated with uncessary OS draining garbage etc, all three of my kids vivofit jrs completely died within 10-14 months, and the bluetooth got too weak to use (with headphones) on my 245 around the 18 month mark before it then got a white spot on the screen https://www.google.com/search?q=garmin+245+white+spot&rlz (click images). So I give them something between a 3 and a 9 out of 10 haha.

          • @nzcoops: I have a fenix 3hr that is still going strong after 4 years. That's why I'm a bit hesitant to upgrade. :)

    • If this is the same model, that's a great saving on top of this deal!

      • Amazon have now price matched

  • +2

Ive been waiting for the 6x Sapphires to go on sale again.

    GAH This gives me hope!

    • -3

why pay so much more for Sapphire glass, you can just get glass protector for these cheap and they are pretty good
sure, not the same but the $$ difference just doesnt justify it

  • +1

That's an awesome price. Pity the sale doesn't cover the 6S Pro—I've been hanging for one of these.

    • I agree, this is a big watch when you see it next to the 6s Pro. I was going to buy a Forerunner 745 on sale from Rebel last week but holding for a 6s.

The 6s Pro doesn't seem to go on sale as much.

      • +1

They seem to be rolling the sales from version to version. A few weeks ago it was the 6X pro and last week was the 6 pro solar. If your preferred version hasn't gone on sale yet, I would just hold on a bit and it should eventually roll around.

      • How much was it at rebel?

    • +1

I have a 6S pro, i paid $1100 odd for it. Can't believe how much they are discounting the bigger ones!

I don't regret buying it as I run most days. great watch.

    • 6S Pro is $649 on Amazon, but it is the white version https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07X6GTFS4/ref=twister_B09BCWM9…

  • +1

Damn kinda want to upgrade from my 6S Pro. Wanted the bigger battery.

    I shouldn't…

  • How does this compares to the Samsung watch 3?

    • +3

There are lengthy discussions on such comparisons. In a nutshell, Samsung/ Apple is a good smart watch with basic fitness features where as Garmin is an excellent fitness (and multi sports tracking) watch with good smart watch features.

      • Thanks Mate, that kind of summarises it

    • yeah apples and oranges - this is a fitness watch , no touch screen - huge battery life but limited apps
you can still use features like offline music and garminpay etc but no pretty apps and other features like that
you can get Venu2 - that is pretty solid smart watch with most of fitness features

  • damn Rebel, just bough it last week for $624 on their sale….
great watch btw - came from Forerunner 235, massive improvement

  • I have a Fenix 3HR sapphire which I love. Just not sure if this is enough of an upgrade. Anyone made the move?

    • +1

      Same situation.
The Fenix 3HR is the Nokia 3210 of fitness trackers..

    • If it is any help - I'm on Fenix 5 from Sep 18, I'll try stick it out another gen or two unless it breaks of cause. The only new feature I think I would use is the onboard music storage for longer trips. Usually don't listen to music for trips under 40mins.

  • Are these actually in stock? I’m hearing some trash from the seller of the last Garmin sapphire deal that there’s a “semi conductor shortage” worldwide and basically zero local stock available until “late July”, which has come and gone…

    • +2

Got one last week, arrived in 2 days from rebel

  • I've been eyeing this one and the Venu 2. I have a Fitbit Charge 2 & A ZeBlaze Vibe 3 HR that I'm looking to replace with 1 single watch,

Not interested in many fitness features and looking at a more smarter watch, which would be the better option?

Massive fan of the styling of this one over the Venu.

    • Venu 2 is a smart watch, def not this if that's what you are after , this doesn't have touch screen

  • Amazon are $569 now ?
    Plus a cash back ?

    • I suppose so…

Mobile Phones & Wearable Tech (Includes Smartwatches, Fitness Trackers, Dashcams, Tablets, Navigation) - 3.00%

Better off getting the CB from rebel

  • +1

I got the Forerunner 55 last week via AIA vitality 25% discount bringing it to $245. Super watch and is actually making me run longer too! Hah, the motivation from a watch!

  • Make sure you pay for extra warranty, they last about 2-3 years with sea swims

    • Garmin support is known to be fantastic regardless, often offering out of warranty replacements and discounts if anything goes wrong. Definitely better to just care for your watch properly (rinsing it straight after chlorine/salt water submersion, cleaning often) and save your money on extended warranties.

  • +2

Thanks Amazon have it for $499 now. I had to cancel and reorder for the new price.

    • link?

      • Clicked the link in the OP and it opened up in the Amazon app on Android phone. Come up 57% off.

    • Thanks. I cancelled my order and re-ordered at $499

  • had a 935 on order getting ready to ship. canceled that and ordered this. Thanks for the link

  • Can't see the 499 Amazon deal?

  • How is the Garmin for weight lifting?

I have a polar and a polar chest strap that monitors my heart rate much more consistently with the strap.

I noticed with my polar using the watch to monitor heart rate doesn’t keep it live when I’m weightlifting as the heart rate is quite volatile

  • Im keen on upgrading from my Huawei Active GT and keen on getting this. I use Samsung as my smartphone. Does this sync data to Samsung Health or Google Fit?

    • Yes to both as well as Strava and other fitness trackers

  • Does this do offline Spotify?

    • +1

Yes, Pro version has 32GB onboard storage.

      • i'm moving to Europe this weekend…do you think it would be possible to order it and send it there? lol

        • Instore?

          • @choodi: Might do it. Fashion vs Sport aside. What would be the draw to this watch over the apple watch series 6

            • @[Deactivated]: Well, it really is about fashion vs sport.

              • @choodi: Rethinking this as I already have a fitbit versa 2

  • +1

I found this link on Reddit- Garmin Fenix 6s Pro vs 6 Pro-vs-6x Pro. It's very comprehensive

    https://smartwatchchart.com/garmin-fenix-6s-pro-vs-6-pro-vs-…

  • Silly question: whats the difference between this and the Fitbit Versa 2?

    • +1

Versa 2 doesn't have as good sensors, small battery that needs to be charged every 3 days if you use exercise tracking, Fitbit hide features behind a premium subscription. In saying that I've had the versa 1 for around a year and a half and I'm only now looking to upgrade

      • I'm pretty happy with the basic features. I may look at an apple watch but truthfully need to reserach this more before committing this kind of money

        • Apple is geared towards being a smartwatch. Garmin Fenix is aimed at sports tracking and battery life.

          • @Yeahyeahok: I may be more incline to get a smart watch. The Garmin is great, but I"m not impressed with the size of the face to be honest

  • +1

I was able to get jbhi sunshine to price match catch.com 550$ price if anyone interested

  • Anyone else get sold a lemon? Got one off Amazon and it's riddled with problems.

    • Mines pretty solid

    • Had the Fenix 3, Fenix 5 Plus and now the 6S Pro and had no issues.

What are the problems you are having?

      • Backlight is broken - sometimes doesn't work at all, sometimes flickers. Also had some issues with connectivity. Have a replacement on the way.
