Not as cheap as it has been but still fairly cheap. About $20 from cdkey sites. Installs using GFWL.
While thats a specific issue, a bigger issue is that their installers appear to be encrypted meaning if they shutdown you have no way to reinstall the game.
Same can be said for Steam.
Not really.
Even if they stopped publishing games they would still be making insane amounts of money.
Their service will stay up as long as new games use Steam, they have very low expenses and employees unlike other companies.
GMG's download service on the other hand is nothing special
I didn't have any issues downloading the game from GMG. But the game doesn't save when I play it so it starts at the intro every time which really sux.
Sounds like you need to actually register the game and make a GFWL account.
I would be wary of purchasing (large) titles from GMG that require the use of their in-house capsule program.
Long story short, I bought Arkham City off them for this price in early january. However apparently capsule doesn't do such a great job at downloading stuff, so I ended up blowing 60gigs of download quota on corrupt data and multiple download attempts. Luckily some smart cookie on the forums devised a way to download direct from the GMG servers using more reliable download programs, and I was able to get the game downloaded after many nights of speed-shaped downloading. Apparently capsule has been updated to fix such problems, but I'm in no hurry to test out their claim.
Then once you get around the atrocious GFWL integration, and the fact that the game was apparently ported to PC by a group of short-sighted monkeys, the game is sort of decent.
