How does it compare with aldi or Costco for pricing?

    • +5

Aldi's 4 ply is 36c/100 sheets. If you S&S this is 29c/100 sheets.

    • Pricing is no longer the priority, availability is my concern. The worst is I can no longer leave my LGA.

        • +31

lol. He said it was his concern not yours.

Nice, thanks. Anyone actually feel awkward picking up toilet paper or tissues in-store nowadays even when really do need them?

    • +10

anyone ask, tell them Gladys made me do this

    • +1

I felt like a right prat buying two packages of toilet paper at the one time.

In my defence I was down to half a roll so when my local FINALLY got stock in I cracked the shits with the (profanity) overbuying and bought the two.

They made it an act of necessity. :/

    • i dont care. i usually buy them when i do my usual grocery run anyway.

  • Thanks OP .

  • pack of 30 wow, thats too much for me. I'll have trouble using this within 2 years

    • +3

I keep the amazon box unopened and keep it in attic. Ordered 90 packs

      • +9

Be careful. I used to do this but rats ate them. The rats followed the possums and according to the pest control person, this is very common.

        • Oh really Thanks for the info 😊

      • Insulation. Smart.

That's 28 for my partner and 2 for me, not sure why women run through this, just waiting for the day it cloggs up.

I have more problems trying to find somewhere to store it….

  • Ordered. Thank you

  • perfect time for 4 weeks lockdown~

      Supermarkets are not closing.

      • +5

yeah, sure they do. My local Woolworths does at 11pm.

  • Thanks ordered S&S

  • +6

can anyone actually feel the difference between 3ply vs 4ply? apart from accidental finger up the Boom

    • +2

yes can feel its much thicker

    • +1

Definitely but you have to remember to use less.

    • +15

I find 4 ply feels nice. I think it's worth it especially when it's on sale.
However, there are other variables to consider such as how many sheets are used each wipe, fold or scrunch, fiber content in diet, strength of hand, dexterity of fingers, etc.
You really need to experience it for yourself and do your own cost-benefit analysis.

      • That is alot of variables to consider!

      • +3

Do you run a course for this? I wanted to be your first student. As a qualified professional.

        • And then there's the western medicine alternative, they're called wet wipes.

    • 4/2 = 2x the amount of 2 ply

  • +2

Works out to be the same at woolorths if you were to buy the 12pack https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/473213/qui…

Woolies price can be cheaper 5%cheaper for woolworths staff, 4% cheaper with wish giftcard and 10% cheaper if you are in time to use the woolworths insurance monthly discount.

    • +1

Butt butt, this gets delivered straight to my bum.

      • -1

I recommend the Woolies one over the Amazon, try comparing 1 roll of each side by side next time, and you'll notice a difference in quality.

        • +2

Just don't pull your pants down at Woollies to compare.

  • +2

My bum gun hates this deal.

  • Thanks. Saves me a trip to Woolies.

  • That's called the Perfect timing. Thanks OP. Was going to order 3ply after my Break. Good thing to have lunch with ozb Bookmarked :)

  • +1

    Gold medal!

  • Thanks OP - was almost going to buy some this morning, but thought I'd wait for another deal on OzB… And behold it arrives!

  • just ran out of the batch from previous deal, bought more.
cant go back to 3 ply

  • I do not have prime or free trial . any chance of getting free delivery ? thanks

    • +1

      Yes buy 4 packs lol.

      • How did you get 4 packs? Unless using 2 different accounts?

    • Too late but via s&s it was free delivery

  • How is it compared to newspapers..?

    • Newspaper? I think you're in need of sandpaper.

    • +1

theres an endless supply of junk mail you can use.

  • I go through these alot faster than the 3ply.

    • +1

Is it because it makes your bum feels so good you cannot stop wiping it?

  • +2

Last time I got this from Amazon (a couple of weeks ago) it came as 5 x 6 packs which was handy I was able to redistribute a couple of packs conveniently to family members.

    • That is so nice.

  • Now coming up as third party stockists only…..FWIW to address buyers regret - mentioned deal to wife "no thanks quality has declined, get mine (cheaper) from Aldi" - yeah do have to go to store but even a mention of free delivery was still, "no".

Disappointing to see OOS in under 2 hours from a HUGE retailer.

    • +1

I just ordered it - is still in stock?

  • +2

This or 3ply double length rolls

    • +1

we recently bought 3 ply and 3ply double length.
they don't seem at all like the same product… it's nice having double length but it's not the same quality as the regular 3ply.

  • Australia owned, but who makes this?

  • +4

For all wondering, these 4ply quilton gold is 100% lower quality than the same from Woolies etc.

I've purchased at least 10+ separate batches from Amazon over the last year and similarly purchased smaller packs from Woolies/Coles whenever on sale and the difference in quality is noticeable.

You'll notice immediately when opening a new roll and trying to separate the first piece from the roll, it almost always rips the tissue on the below layers due to the sticky residue being poorly done - this almost never happens on the better quality local variants.

The tissue quality/softness is also noticeably worse.

    • So Amazon sells the stuff that Quilton QA rejects?

      • +1

Probably manufactured elsewhere, the consistency in the higher vs lower quality is identical every single batch I've ordered.

    • Makes sense. Your new roll first piece description of the Amazon product is absolutely accurate.

      • I still end up buying from Amazon when not on sale elsewhere… but no idea for those that can't notice a difference, gotta be truly senile or a bit dense to not be able to see and feel the difference when comparing side by side.

        • That's probably the problem. Rare people do a side by side comparison as you tend to either have stick of stuff sourced from place A or B only.

I'm guilty. Never thought about it at front of mind but after reading what you said, yeah, I've thought about that subconsciously many times.

  • Still trying to finish off the $3 packs from Coles.

    • Eat more beans.

    • Eat more prunes.

  • good price but $13 for 30 is better

    • I prefer $12.38 for 30

      • very nice

      • $12.35 if using wish card at Woolies at 5% off?

        • $12 at Amazon using 3% off gift cards.

Woolies is $5.50 for 12, so $13.75 for 30 so it would be $13.06 with gift card? Or am I missing something?

          • +2

@Miss B: woolies sometimes have it on $13 for 30 just not now

  • +1

I still have my TP wall for at least another 18mths I reckon .

    • Me too especially after the 30 rolls for $3 from Coles of their brand.
