Luigi’s Mansion 3 has dropped to $59 delivered by Amazon AU. Not the lowest but a good price for physical copy. They seem to be price matching Catch but only 5 remaining: https://www.catch.com.au/product/nintendo-switch-luigis-mans…

Description
Luigi embarks on a dream vacation with Mario and friends upon receiving an invitation to a luxurious hotel. However, his dream quickly becomes a nightmare when King Boo reveals everything had been a ploy to capture Mario and friends. With the assistance of Professor E. Gadd once again, the reluctant and cowardly hero Luigi traverses up and down treacherous floors of the now-ominous hotel on a quest to save them. Wield the upgraded Poltergust G-00 to slam and blow away the ghosts’ defences, or summon Gooigi, an all-green doppelganger that can help Luigi overcome obstacles he can’t get past alone. Interchange between Luigi and Gooigi as one player, or grab a friend and control one each. For more frenetic multiplayer action, race the timer to clear various objectives on a series of floors in ScareScraper mode. ScareScraper mode can be played online* or locally** with up to eight players on four Nintendo Switch systems.

I hated this. The controls ruined it.

All they had to do was make the vacuum auto-suck on right stick movement. With a L/ZL to aim low/high and ZR shoulder button to toggle to blowing.

Then the left control stick would have been free to use with a better movement system.

I remember getting used to the controls quickly enough when i played it, and whilst having a learning curve not finding them to be a dealbreaker. Was a super fun game that just had a charm that most don't.

Me too, controls were a non-issue after an hour of play.

        • I probably tried 10 hours. I was always battling the controls rather than the ghosts.

        Agreed, loved it.

Agreed, there's a good game here but the controls are trash.

    • +4

Definitely bit of a learning curve with the controls. But a couple of hours and they become intuitive enough.

Really great game! It might be the best for Switch in terms of level design - very creative and playful and rewardingly puzzling 👍👍

Me and my 6 year old son loved this game. So much fun.

He would play the Gooigi character who just regenerates when he dies - but still has some key tasks that only this character can do.

No issues with the controls for us, worked well (we used full sized controllers rather than the joy cons though)

  • Playing through Sackboy on the PS5 with my partner at the moment and loving it - would be keen to hear any experiences playing this as a couple. Is one of the characters relegated to being the "little brother" character who is low-risk/impact?

    • one of the characters is low risk yes. There are certain things the little brother character can only do, and there are some that only the main character can do.

Having said that, I wouldn't say the little brother character is that limited, it's more so opening doors etc. that the main character does.

  • Multiplayer is not enabled at the start. You have to play through a couple of hours before you unlock "Gooigi" for multiplayer mode.

I really tried to like this game but after a couple of nights got over it and traded it for Mario Tennis

    • Shouldn't take a couple of hours, probably about 1 hour to enable gooigi. Given the whole game takes a lot longer, it's worth it.

Definitely more suited to playing with a child of some age, or a less experienced gamer partner.

… and traded it for Mario Tennis

      Credibility of critique shattered 🤣

The controls did take a while to get used to, but the level design and gameplay mechanics were so good. Really enjoyed it, I put about 25 hours into the main story.

i enjoyed it and play with my girlfriend (whom is a non gamer) and would recommend

pros: fun game with relatively low skill level requirement
cons: you need to unlock multiplayer mode which might take an hour, also found some levels were not intuitive and despite some clues we had to look up a walkthrough, i did hear it can feel a little short

Same, my wife doesnt normally play games but this is fun as co op.I wish they made a 4th one now.

Even at RRP its worth it if you think about it.

A couples night out watching a movie and dinner would cost easily $60-70+ on a weekend.

This game gives you many hours of fun and worst case you can resell the game for $30-40.

Even at RRP its worth it

    Love this game.

Partner gets annoyed with the controls but she's a non gamer. I had no issues myself after playing for about an hour.
