What IS the MSRP for cards? They've been skewed for so long I just don't know anymore
$529.
Damn, still a fair way to go
@twig: On track for 2023.
@pharcyde: when they are superseded LOL
This is true, however, we never saw anything below $730ish here in Aus. Suspect $529 (or similar) won't happen any time soon but if we can at least get back to $700ish, push 2060 down to $500, that would be a start.

Vanilla 3060 seems to be on par with 1080Ti for some games here, not sure how the XC compares, but still a respectable performance (based on MSRP).
Doesn't really say much for the distributors if the MSRP is $399 (USD), and our retail is between $900 - 1200+ AUD.
Surely the distributors / suppliers are getting these things at or around MSRP and with the constricted supply, operating on a supply and demand based valuation, and passing those costs on to most retailers / consumers.
Would be extremely interesting to see the breakdown of pricing at all stages of the supply chain (manufacturer, board partners, distributors, suppliers, retailers).
you are forgetting import duty, GST, and probably something else our grubby politicians add in to the mix, cant ever compare us to aus
Yeah only about 2 times the MSRP now /s
Yeah, doing the USD / AUD conversion on EVGAs own website $399 USD works out to be around $550 AUD.
I'd settle for $600, maybe $650, even though I used to set my budget at $500 tops.
Never a straight USD/AUD conversion from the USD MSRP, have to include things like tax and import fees etc. It's the same way with all electronics.
So, maximum 20% on top for those. That's $650.
No matter what way you cut it, we don't get just import fees and such.
There's always a secret 30 - 50% tax I like to call the 'Get (profanity)' Tax.
Are chips growing back now?
natures healing
Life finds a way.
Looks like mother nature always adapt
Mommy's very angry
I'm going to burn if the 3060s get below $869 as that's how much i paid for mine 2 months back.
Got this exact model for $759. This is a bad deal. You can get a lhr 3060 for $829. This is a LHR card, eVGA just don’t state it.
Aren't all 3060's hash rate limited or something?
This is the 2.0 card. The version 1 could be unlocked by 470.05 driver
@CrazyBargainCatcher: Oh ok, I had no idea there was an unlock for them. Hopefully all these LHR cards keep the prices coming down
@dmouse81: Yea, version 1.0 can easily be circumvented by the driver. Some developer "accidentally" uploaded a version of the driver without the limiter lol.
Yea, this is a bad deal.
Isn't this a KR rather than a KL variant? I thought it was KL variants that were hash rate limited?
Looking forward to cheaper
Bought 6 in the last 2 weeks. My electricity company is loving me!
“Electricity companies hate him!”
Yeah, I bet they think I'm having a crop house but letting me roll with it due to the extra $$
Lol. I'm sure not these exact ones
maybe, maybe not :-)
For mining? Thought these cards only got 25mh/s
Since when did Ozbargain become OzRRP+50%markup
Since these used to be OzDoubleRRP
Eh, OzRRP and a Half eh?
Its not there yet, but its getting better.
Would you complain about a mint condition Super Mario 64 being advertised at 2x MSRP?
Market is what the market is. MSRP is meaningless.
This card performance only worth $499
If you can hold out until 2023, then it very well will be.
Gaming performing yes, but mining performance….:D
It’s an LHR card, worth less than an RTX 20xx card for mining
Hold !!
my beer
Is this a good graphics card to run fortnite guys ? Sorry i know nothing about pc
overkill
go on YouTube and search Fortnite GPU benchmarks where they show the performance of each GPU for that game; and yes, the 3060 is overkill for Fortnite.
Yes, but it's overpriced and unnecessary if that's all you want to run. You could get away with something half the price, or possibly CPU integrated graphics.
Depends, for a basic playable experience? A decent phone or cheap laptop could work.
For competitive(consistent 240fps, broadcasting, etc)? Will probably have noticeable dips when shit gets real in tournaments & scrims-the 3070 should give you a little headroom.
30series purchase should start with 3060ti.
3060 has smilar performance like 1080ti / 2060s except DLSS feature2060 also has DLSS.
but 3060 has better DLSS performance
Yeah..cool..not what your initial comment said though.
Or just use FSR with your 1080ti hehe
I think the 1080ti beats the 3060 in performance.
Hanging out for a 3080ti.
1080ti is faster , and you could get them for near this price during sales in 2017. That's how crazy it is that this is consideted a bargain now
I think this is a similar deal for the same price + delivery.
can we get some $900 3070s up in dis bitch
When that happens I'll go in hard :-)
Don't you mean $750
il happily pull the trigger at $1000-$1100.
waiting patiently in the EVGA 3070 queue. They need to make the hashrate limit stick and crypto needs to crash hard for that to happen unfortunately.
Its the invisible hand of the market. Gamers value the cards differently to miners.
How hard? Months ago Bitcoin was 60k, now it's like 30k isn't it? That's a 50% drop
a year ago it was 13k. all relative i guess!
I've been a miner since 2013. Mining is still very very profitable. I'm not mining Bitcoin by the way, no one uses GPU to mine Bitcoin, well technically they can, they wouldn't get much profits though.
Months ago Bitcoin was 60k, now it's like 30k isn't it? That's a 50% drop
What's your point? 1 year ago to this day, it was $9536USD, 3 years ago to this day it was $7518 USD, 5 years ago to this day it was $2750 USD, 7 years ago it was $280 USD. We can quote prices all day lol.
Bitcoin was one of the best performing assets in the last decade (property returns are not even in the same universe by the way) and I'm sure it will be one of the best again in the next decade (2020-2030). You can screenshot this and remind me in 2030 haha.
90+% drop like in the bear market I reckon. During 2019, I was still mining, but it was very close to break even, sometimes at a loss when I turned off my rigs.
Not happy with this card or the price, but +1 for that tasteful profile pic.
(I think we've been "GPU Spoilt" from 2007 - 2017)
Disappointing they dont list LHR on their description. Mining or not, we have a right to know if the hardware we are buying is handicapped in anyway.
Aren't all 3060s LHR? You could probably just get the driver update that disables it anyway if you wanted to mine
All 3060s should be LHR, however there's a difference between version 1.0 and version 2.0. The first version of the limit can be easily circumvented via a driver, while its a little hard for version 2.0.
Its a bit of a grey area I think. Its definite to the 3080 where there is a clear distinction between the LHR and non-LHR version.
They do this for 3060ti/3070/3080 now. 3060, 3070ti and 3080ti are all LHR standard from what I'm aware of. Yes early 3060 you could circumnavigate but they were intended to be LHR.
Still a dogshit price - I'm hanging on to my RTX2080 until the RTX4080 comes out next year.
2080 is better than this lol. I sold my 2080 in may 2020 to make sure I got value in preparation for the new cards. Is it hard to jack off with your diamond hands?
Straight to the point…dogshit! I'm hanging out for my $1500(aud) 3080ti
Sure, Q3 2022 maybe.
Maybe…and maybe later…but maybe sooner
Next year? Not with the way they're selling, they'll milk for ages
Expect the enterprise sector to get their replacements (Hopper / MCM GPU) next year, then in '23, we'll most likely get the RTX 40 series.
going for 4080 or 3070?
Hold! This is still more expensive than 3070 AIB launch price! Just buy a used 6700xt for this kind of price, much better performance
Looking for an upgrade from a 1050ti, I'm assuming hold a couple months?
I can’t see the 50% discount code. Forgot to attach it?
Hold on is that 899 USD or aus, 12gig of vram that's like 450% cheaper than when the titan equivalent was $3000 few years ago version came out(or what ever the equivalent as it shares similarities) sadly stock will be gone.
Great for non gaming situations, definitely a better substitute over the 3090
Wonder what the refurbished eBay china ones will be priced at, with the right research.
If anyone is looking for a Intel i9 extreme edition CPU 18cores, going on eBay for $650, but doesn't Cator to gen pcie 4, or what ever windows 11 tmp equivalent requirements will be.
Mine just fried on New World - shit price but it will do
3060 ti then maybe…..
For those waiting for MSRP or the price to drop significantly further, you may have to wait abit longer or it will never come at all. The drop in prices has stalled, the market has found a new equilibrium.
Despite the fall in crypto prices, it is still profitable to mine with these cards, so the there's demand from miners outside of China for these cards, hence prices are unlikely to go back to MSRP.
Probably need to wait until etherium fully moves to proof of stake and becomes more profitable on other rigs for them to go much lower sadly.
Well, Ethereum is just one of hundreds of coins which can be mined on graphics cards. This is why even the LHR limiter wouldn't be effective as it only targets Ethereum. When Ethereum moves totally into proof of stake next year (if its not delayed again), miners will switch to other coins.
GPU Prices are really getting closer to that sweet msrp we all want!
