Good price, same as the Anaconda 20% off deal earlier this year.

  • Very Nice.
Wonder if an "S" version is imminent?

    • I mean it barely came out late last year, November i believe.. so who knows!

    • yes, they are pumping them out faster now a days.

  • +4

showing me check out price as $948??

    • +1

      Yep can confirm.. It's gone.

    • Same here: $748 for the mini 2; $948 for the combo.

Couple of tips i wish I'd known. 1. Don't use the propeller guards outdoors in wind. 2. Make sure you get the return to home function going before getting adventurous. I nearly learned the hard way. Happy flying

    • are there a lot of restrictions on drones in Australia?

      • +2

There are but because this drone is under 250g you therefore don't need to register it.

        • There is currently no requirement to register a drone flown for recreational purposes - although that is changing in May next year

      • There's a few. The main one though is the no fly zones within a 5km radius of controlled airports.

        • I think the rules have changed to allow drones up to 250g

"If your drone weighs more than 250 grams, you must fly at least 5.5 kilometres away from a controlled airport, which generally have a control tower at them."(https://www.casa.gov.au/knowyourdrone/drone-rules)

          • @skimp: How do they enforce this?

            • @Manny Calavera: The same way they do speeding. You might get away with it; you might not.

            • @Manny Calavera: I think the international airports have drone detection software.

But apart from that you're supposed to land when there's aircraft operating where you are.

So if pilots see it and radio it in you might get a visit.

The restrictions look extreme but as long as you don't fly high around flight paths you generally don't have much trouble.

I should note I'm in a regional area though, cities are probably stricter

            • @Manny Calavera: the app won't let you take off. it finds your location with gps.

        • In Victoria, its also illigal to fly it near a prison.

      • Especially Victoria state.

        • well they cant be super strict, because a guy was flying one just above us (maybe 1m above our head) going into parliament station.

apparently FPV drones are also not allowed outdoors :(

    • Also pro tip (I have the Mavic 2 pro, no not sure if the controller is the same), don't accidentally flick the switch to 'Sport Mode' the first time you ever fly it.. it goes.. a lot quicker than you expect it to with the sensors off.

  • Can it be price matched lower anywhere? Ow doesn't sell it online..

  • No Litchi.

    • Are you sure this doesn't support Litchi? That's a bummer.

    Actually it shows 948…

  • Got this just in time, thanks !

Great price for whomever managed to get in. I bought the fly more pack from JB for $950 not less than a month ago

    • +2

I'm pretty pleased with myself! Been keeping my eye out for this for a while. OP found a great deal!

  • Remember when the previous model was selling in the combo for like $450? Hell of a deal.
I know this is better but man. $450!

    • Can't really compare. I would not get the previous even for half of that due to no RAW shooting

      • Is RAW really that important? What's the differences?

        • If you are into photography it gives you a higher quality file that you can edit.
If you usually.domt edit your photos, no difference

    • +2

That was a deal for sure. It was $438 if I remember correctly. I got one, never opened the box and flipped it for $675 on Facebook Marketplace.

I recently bought the Air 2S Fly More for $1999 from TGG (full price $2099) minus 10% using the recent Home gift card deal.

      What a drone.

      • +1

Nice move! The Air 2S is my next drone. The Mini 2 is a helluva performer for the money, but for professional work I really need to upgrade…

      • +2

Must be newbs on fb. I had it gumtree for $500 no takers. Ended up keeping it… check out my roof..

        • I had plenty of low ball offers trust me but I wasn't desperate to sell and waited it out.

  • +5

    Ooft. Glad I missed this.

Would have been an awkward conversation with the missus otherwise.

  • +2

btw, what do you do with these? They seem illegal to fly most of any city. Unless you live rural or don't give a shit.

    • +1

If you live in a city and aren't willing to travel to fly it, then it isn't really a wise purchase

    • I thought 249 gram was ok?

  • +2

Did anyone buy this and not actually want it. I'm legit in the market, let me know.

  • Hmm, Gone already. This is fast. I am thinking to buy one of this.

  • +1

    Jesus that didn't last long…

    • +7

Now that's a phrase I'm used to hearing.

  • +1

Wow, bought one yesterday from JB for $950. Glad it was expired before I saw this.

Got to say this little thing is amazing. Shocked at how high and far it goes and the 4K video is smooth. Go my heart pumping after it flew so high I couldn't find it. Thank god it has the return to home button

  • Does this have obstacle avoidance?

Worth getting this certificate for free. (Note: You do have to register with CASA and provide Id though)

    https://www.casa.gov.au/drones/accreditation

I already knew the material and it took me about an hour's effort including creating my CASA Id. Might take an extra hour if you are seeing the information for the first time.

At the very least if people went through this there would be less questions here and you'd have more of an idea of what you're getting yourself into. This certification lets you fly over 250g (but under 2kg, or 25kg over your own property) and let you do some work or hobby stuff CASA might consider work (FAA in America considers flying in a way that promotes a Youtube channel to be work even if you're not paid. It looks like they're talking about similar things here). There are lots of other restrictions you can bypass if you do the expensive paid accreditations, but this is free.

  • Dang, miss out again!

  • Managed to just scrap in and get it at this price earlier today! So stoked! Have been waiting a while for it to go on sale. Can’t wait to use it!

  • Ugh! Been waiting months for it do drop, then it does for 10-15 minutes when I popped out.

  • how did you see price drops on amazon?

  • +1

I've been waiting for a deal like this for ages but missed it :(
Has anyone found a store currently selling for less than 900 so I can price beat at Anaconda?
