What one would you recommend?
I have the LG one you linked. The sound at the end is the most annoying sound you could possibly imagine. But other than that its a great microwave.
@solidice: Surely it would be able to be turned off
@solidice: hold down STOP + Inverter buttons together it will turn it off
Not based on my experience with them. I'm on the third one within 4 year period (2 replaced under warranty and 1 under Customer Care plan with HN). They don't last, but awesome microwave when works.

Is this the same?
@josepet: reviews on that website is really bad
Reasonable microwave, but plays an annoying song!!
@placard: The song can be disabled
what is the difference between that LG and this one?

You can't see shit inside.
You can't see shit inside.
The xhit inside
that means you don't need to clean the spatters :)
Use torch lights on your phone.
You can't see shit inside.
Who microwaves shit?
I have a similar (3 years older) Samsung model and can confirm "can't see S#!+ inside", which seems to be an ongoing design flaw.
Also the touch tones "beep" when pressing the buttons and notification when the cooking cycle ends no longer works.
I would not recommend a Samsung microwave.
I've noticed many new microwaves have very dark doors so impossible to view in. Not sure why they are going for this.
On top of that, the light inside is being replaced by smaller/dimmer LED, compared to the old incandescent globes.
Why they don't install bright LED inside, I'll never know.
Yeah these are pretty terrible. You can't see what's happening inside and they are fingerprint magnets. Honestly they look great until you actually use one.
I have this Samsung microwave. I bought it recently because my old one had flaking paint on the inside. But both of them allow you to turn off the beeps, which is why I buy this brand.
Yeah i would get 1100W or higher… I have this Samsung 1000W one. It's pretty slow when cooking and sometimes doesn't heat that well.
I have had a similar older model Samsung microwave and it has been going strong for 6 years +. At the time it was the only one this size that was a reasonable price. Yes, you ‘can’t see shit inside’ but hey, just open the door if you want to check. Can confirm you can turn the beeps off. I recommend.
I am ready for an upgrade too - so what do people say the most reliable microwaves are?
Like the old Panasonics used to be?The Sharp microwaves I have had have all lasted well over 10 years, I bought a Pansonic once and it lasted 2-3 years.
I just buy Sharps now.
The old Panas (20th century) were awesome - ours lasted 20 years
I just got Panasonic SF574SQPQ for $225 after my noname one died after 10 years, we'll see
the samsung one i has doesnt heat evenly and there's cold spots…
sharp and panasonics are the best from what i've readI don't think any sharp is good from the current range. I was considering them but they always have bad rep from user reviews.
I’ve got one, correct that you cannot see anything inside & also the door is quite flimsy when closing. They don’t make anything like the good old days is all I can say. It’s ok for $179 but I had a sharp carousel previously & could not fault them. Good luck with finding the right one as I’m still on that journey.
I had this microwave for 2 years before it died suddenly. Wouldn't recommend.
Yes everyone above owns one and so do I (albeit an older model) and use the same model at work. Yes, ‘you can’t see shit’ inside it and yes the push to open mechanism has slowly become weaker over the 5 years I’ve owned mine. However the main thing all above are missing is that this microwave is inconsistent in its ability to heat anything, needing to have it on for longer than desired because the food at the centre is cold compared to the outsides (bloody thing heats up the bowl before it heats the damn food), and you’ll end up spending more in power making up the difference between this and a better microwave like a Sharp Carousel.
My LG microwave is still goind strong for 14 years now. And its used daily. Not sure if I can justify buying a new one.
Why would you buy a new one if there's nothing wrong with the one you have?
Lol I've been looking at a microwave as well I drilled it down to lg neochef for basic microwave or get the Breville combi if I want microwave oven and airfryer.
Currently at GG commercial for $560
did you read the reviews? they are not that great.
