    Anything protective? Padded bags?

    • Not at the moment unfortunately. We're working on it!

Might be worth adding dimensions of each bag to the post.

    • Thanks for the feedback. Dimensions added along with links.

  • So how do perform when not composted? i.e. how long do the last in landfill? do they biodegrade?

    • +2

      Excellent question!

      1) They still break down in landfill however it takes a bit longer than usual (roughly 2 years to break down compared to 90-120 days if composted).
      2) Our mailers are compostable rather than biodegradable. There is a big difference between the two as biodegradable only breaks down into microplastics, leaving behind toxic waste. Compostable completely breaks down, leaving behind only the beneficial residual products like fertiliser. You can say they are a worm's best friend.

Be sure to check out our FAQs page if you have any more questions.

biodegradable only breaks down into microplastics

Holy hell. This is like when I found out that some products are allowed to use the recycling symbol but aren't recyclable.
Or that organic is basically a meaningless term when there's 7+ different certification bodies all with different standards and levels and prices…

I knew that degradable was better than biodegradable but I can't believe they're allowed to use that term when it can still mean plastic turning into smaller bits of plastic.

Love the perforations for reuse! Pretty sure my Paddy Pallin order came in one of your bags.

Yes! It’s a very deceiving word and only when we learnt more about it, chose the compostable pathway.

Great to hear, hope to see more compostable packaging being used by other businesses.
