Did not know about that copy link to highlight function. Handy.
In case you were wondering, this is a women's watch.
It looks masculine enough for me, would it not fit my muscular girthy man wrists?
Black also available
What's the difference between these Vapor 2's and say this Vapor 2 at JB for $379?
Harvey's seems to have an equivalent model for $127 which is not far off Amazon's original price
Watch size?
JB model is MIS7203 which comes with NFC.
Ah yes, makes sense. Thanks
seems the last digit is colour, mis7201 is silver , same internals i think.
The SOC was 2 years old when this was released 3 years ago. So a 5 year old SOC at this stage…..
Appreciate this is a V2, but the changes by all accounts didnt go far enough to fix the issues of V1. So, great deal but…. dont do it…. my partner the version prior to this and the pin charging is annoying to get working. The battery life is erratic, and the smarts mostly need to be off to get through the day, sometimes dies by lunchtime. The first one she had was replaced under warranty due to bootloop.
Just a reminder to iOS users, despite the claims of Wear being compatible, real life usage is terrible.
My wife has a Skagen Falster 2 (subsidiary of Fossil)
Watch has been repaired under warranty when the back fell off. Took 2 months. She frequently has to reset to get the vibration to work again.
I HAD a Fossil Carlyle Gen 5
Was hard to get it to charge had to spin it on the receptacle a few times to get it to go. Even then I could not guarantee full charge in the morning. Even when I did it never lasted a day always going to battery save mode (initially with everything on but as the watch approached 8 months old I had to turn pretty much all the features off to get it to last a day). In the end after 1.5 years it lasted maybe 4 hours on average. Contacted Fossil - got the "we may not guarantee the battery" spiel and "it will take 8 weeks" thing so I contacted JB where I bought it. Manager called within 30 minutes and told me to come get a different replacement watch as the Fossils "are no good" (her words - apparently a lot got returned).
Swapped it for a Galaxy Watch 3. Very happy so far with everything ON it lasts more than 48 hours.
Just FYI. I won't be buying Fossil or any brand under their name again. Not high quality in my opinion.
Battery life is an issue, need to charge every 36 hrs
I have two of these in the larger size for the last couple years one in black and one in stainless. Wearing the black one right now :)
All Wear OS watches with the 2100 qualcomm chip and 512mb of RAM perform pretty much the same. Slow…
But it gets the job done with a few tweaks and haven't felt the need to upgrade to one with a speaker yet.
512mb of ram…
On a watch…
Wtf…
Modern people can't code for shit if they need that much ram.
Software developers and their poorly coded apps are the bane of my existence…

It's running Android. Android uses Java. This means high memory usage.
@PainToad: Java… Yuck.
Java was always a slow POS.
You're telling me all android uses it (like phones and tv) or just some apps? You're telling me all android uses it (like phones and tv) or just some apps?
The UI for the entire system across all Android devices is Java.
Assume this is gen 4. Gen 4 runs like a dog . Green 5 is the Min that is usable
I bought one of these about a year ago and have since switched back to my LG Watch Urbane (V1) as this watch is very slow and I didn't end up using NFC payments as much as I thought I would.
If you don't have a WearOS watch and want to get in to one, for the price this isn't too bad but its not the best watch out there. My much older LG runs so much better and has better battery life, it just doesn't have NFC. This one you would pretty much need to charge daily and would not be very good if you intend to wear it for sleep tracking.
There is a fairly common issue with the metal charger ring on the watch falling off with this model, I never had that issue in a year of use, but something to beware of.
Shows "unavailable" for me
I bought this last July during a JB sale. I think it was about $100
It looks nice, and seems fine enough, but… as someone mentioned above "all Wear OS watches with the 2100 qualcomm chip and 512mb of RAM perform pretty much the same. Slow…"
This year I bought the Gen 5 Carlyle for $150 on sale because I saw enough in WearOS to think it would do ok.
The Carlyle is a revelation in comparison to the Vapor, with twice the ram (1GB) and the next Qualcomm chip - the 3100, AND it has a speaker. I'm actually quite happy with it, and with the right watchface and settings I comfortably get through to the next day.
The Vapor? Not so much. It would die at night when I was out.
I don't regret buying it, but I 100% would not buy it now.
With all this being said, I don't think I'd get this watch, especially seeing as the next gen of WearOS watches is coming (Samsung/Fitbit/Google Pixel Watch perhaps), and the old ones won't be upgraded to the new OS - finally we're going to have some watches with really great battery life because no one will have to use the Qualcomm chips ever again.
Fossil!! Noo. Its Misfit
