Not the cheapest ever, I bought a pack for $38.52 ~2 month ago. But this is pretty decent compared to local prices for Hue GU10 spotlights, almost half price

Be warned: just white, not white ambience.

This is not half price, I think the poster is confusing these with White Ambience here: https://www.amazon.com.au/Philips-Hue-Spotlight-Bluetooth-As…
Even if it was White Ambience it's still not half price

So expensive, can get Ikea smart gu10s for $10ea.. guess this helps ppl committed to Hue hub.. otherwise if starting out on home automation get a zigbee stick and mii or ikea lights

    • Yeah i bought this one about a month ago for $40. However Kogan brand goes for $25.99 for 4 pack.

      • Kogan ones are wifi, only work via a China server, so until support is dropped or you internet goes down.

guess this helps ppl committed to Hue hub.

Nope. The $10 Ikea ones work fine on the Hue hub. Also Ikea has CCT (warm/cool) for $20 each.

Hue hub does a lot more than the Ikea one, but no need for expensive Hue bulbs.

I really would not recommend the zigbee stick for people "just starting out". Go with Hue bridge or Amazon Echo (not Dot).

      • White ones are the CTT? I bought a heap of RGB only to find out they're RGBW and cool white is not very bright. So much dimmer than warm white.

        Guessing it's 004.086.07

        • Ikea says "white spectrum".

          https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/tradfri-led-bulb-gu10-400-lumen…

I bought a heap of RGB

You mean colour e27? They are not very good. Ikea does not sell colour gu10.

            • @sini180: Ah, new item, thanks. Surprisingly, they are cheap than the white-spectrum version. But dim, eh?

              • @bargaino: The warm white is fine, but cool white isn't that great and certainly less bright than the cheap generic eBay WiFi bulbs. Don't really care for warm white, looks crappy vs cool white, so that's a bummer.

I use RGB in some places so will have to consider mapping where I need RGB and where I want white-spectrum I guess.

                • @sini180: I got one Ikea colour E27 to try, was not impressed. Hue are too expensive. I've gotten used to 2700K warm-white now. It is cosy.
Plus some warm/cool task and mood lighting.

                  • @bargaino: Using via HA+Conbee II so not sure what temps are. Same thoughts on Hue though, can't justify the price.

  • $10 in Bunnings for a single bulb.

    • Did you mean $100? That is for the colour version.

  • I’d recommend checking out the V-TAC brand that Costco sells, for those who can get there. Works with Alexa / Google. RGB 6 pack is $40 if I recall correctly. I’ve got 16 of them and they work well.
