Received the full 3 months by clicking 'Go to Deal' and agreeing (an uncancelled subscription to be taken from PayPal) - and have never played any form of Pokémon. Thanks OP.

  • Nice. Haven’t tried YouTube music yet and my free Deezer trial ended a couple of weeks ago.

    • I trialed YT Music and preferred it over other music streaming platforms.

  • Anyone compared YouTube music to Spotify? Worth making the switch to also remove the ads from YouTube? I'm paying Philippines prices for Spotify though…

    • +2

imo, Spotfy hands down - YTM interface and how you follow artists etc is garbage, but the value for me (others not so much perhaps) is the no ads on Youtube. I'm comfortable paying for both since the amount of usage the fams does on both services is quite high.

    • +3

If you use YouTube on PC, just use an Adblocker browser plugin. Otherwise, you can use the various other clients to get around ads and lack of background playback, or you can indeed pay up.

      • Any options to avoid ads on mobile?

        • +9

          Youtube vanced, or Newpipe

          • @pichxlonco: Thanks

          • @pichxlonco: Does it stream in background?

            • +2

@capslock janitor: youtube vanced does, newpipe i can't remember.
You have youtube and youtube music form vanced, both work on do backgrounds streaming.

              https://vancedapp.com/

              • @pichxlonco: don't think you can chromecast via youtube vance , can you?

                • @Mr Frodo: no apparently not. I think there are some ways to cast some of the content but it depends on the version of microG you use, and there are a couple of steps involved in getting it to work, but i haven't tried it myself. If i recall correctly all iformation should be on the site, or available on the main app once you download it.

It comes with my premium so I use it, but in reality it is a really awful music service. Spotify has better playlist creation, both algorithm and other users. YouTube then also plays videos/“music” that you have watched on YouTube.
For example Epic Rap Battles, I don’t particularly want these in my playlist. It also plays partial and looped songs (actual dancing videos) as if they are the proper song.

If you have your own playlists it is a fine service, if your lazy and just want it to ply recommendations it’s awful.

      • +8

It really is awful. God I miss Google Play Music…

      • Playlists are a bit whack, I had to create another separate one when I was using it.

    • YM has more choices imo like unofficial uploads and compilations. Spotify is usability king though.

    • They are much of the same.

I prefer Youtube as I like the daily mixes better than Spotify and Youtube content creators supposedly get 10x the ad revenue from Premium viewers.

I prefer YTM's integration into Google products. But if my system was Sono or Apple, I would use Spotify as I like how Spotify integrates with those two brands better.

    • YTM does have bigger library (mixes, covers, all that stuff from regular ol YouTube), simpler UI (no podcasts, no lyrics, canvas etc) and it's included with YouTube Premium.
Still, Spotify does have better interface, playlists, way better suggestions (YT music does have daily mix recently but not that good), multiple platform support, also some fancy things like year summary, lastfm integration.
      Can't decide so i'm using both…

    • Sign up for yt premium using a VPN and India for the location. It is cheap as chips! Or papadams i might say!

I just got offered a 4 month free trial on my Samsung Galaxy.

    • Galaxy what?

    • +1

Had the same thing, I'm using a Galaxy S21 Ultra, but my wife has an older note and got the same offer.

    • Got offered 3mths on my Huawei Mate20

  • +3

Showing as only one month free trial..

    • +4

Same here, only shows as 1 month trial. Never had premium before.

    • Doesn't work for me but I had YouTube Red before.

  • Can't purchase via Android. Says 'Sorry, cannot open this link, purchase cancelled'.

  • +2

Can you cancel immediately after signing up and still retain premium until end of trial period? Only ads I can't block are on smart TV, as adblock doesn't work natively on the TV app nor when cast to it.

    • Yeah I am pretty sure you can.

  • -3

Woah, people still play Pokemon Go?

I remember when it was all the rage a few years back, now I hardly ever hear about it lol

    • +6

I asked the same question 1 year ago, and now im addicted to the game again LOL

      • It makes me nauseous looking forward then down at the screen constantly.

    • +1

They have had constant events due to covid-19 for the last year, so good spawns and endless items.
They have already stated they want to turn it back to crap, with rubbish spawns and less events in upcoming months, unfortunately.

  • +1

Showing only 1-month free trial, thanks anyway.

EDIT- NVM I checked, I forgot I had Youtube premium 4 years ago smh.

  • +2

Guess none of you heard of YouTube Vanced then :/

    • -6

Most sheep probably have iPhones so they cant get that. Imagine paying for youtube or spotify when you get both ad-free XD

      • How do you get spotify ad-free?

      • mOsT ShEeP…ok buddy or just use pi hole and block it at router level like a real 5head

      • +3

Because people can't possibly have a preference and the only way people have made a different decision to you (obviously the WRONG decision) is because they're uninformed and have been duped

    • Vanced never worked for me, always got ads despite keeping it up to date.

    • In Australia, iOS has 55% market share. I think YouTube Vanced isn't available on iOS.

  • +7

For anyone wondering, yes, you can cancel your membership as soon as you get it and your benefits willl stay up until the end of the trial period.

I deactivated and canceled my YT Premium from this 3 month trial as soon as I got it, so I won't have to worry about any payments at all. Thanks OP!

    • +1

good tip, I did the same.

  • only 1 month for me too - but i'll take it :)

I think it's cause i had Premium trial earlier this year already.

  • Nice 👍

  • +1

Only 1 month offer which is anyway available directly from YouTube.

  • Premium is free forever, depending where you go

    • How?

      • Modded APKs

        • Can you please explain in detail if possible? How does it work on iOS devices? Thanks.

          • @buddysayshi: Google's changing the APK extensions soon, to mitigate, APKs. So get it while it lasts.

It's magnificent, the video plays offline when no internet, similar to the Xbox console, if you haven't logged in less then a month, you can play certain gamepass games offline.

while both are different knowing is sometimes better then not knowing.

            • @LoserScott: Could you please help or advise how modded APKs work on iOS devices? Does it require any particular IT knowledge? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

              • @buddysayshi: Well for starters you have two options:

Create 10 Gmail accounts and subscribe to the 3 month deal, per account via VPN when signing up.

And your second opinion is, buy a spare android, any crummy tablet, or even TV will do, what ever that has android capabilities above android 6.0.

Once you've done that, you then need to source the taboo website or torrent for the APK file.

You can always download the videos offline, that's probably the easiest.

The hard way will require you to create a APK file, and create a backdoor.

  • +1

Brave browser on any device will block youtube ads also.

  • Awesome deal, thanks OP

  • For some reason wasn't eligible for the 3 months but was for 2 months. Cheers

  • I'm not eligible :(

    • me neither

  • Feel free to add me XD
