  • i love my blendtec…but this is a good price :)

  • Sigh.. I paid $37 for a replacement glass jug a month ago..
    I use mine 3 times a week

  • Haven't used it personally. PR only has 2 review but they're enough to make me think "u get what u pay 4."

Apparently not recommended for warm/hot contents:

  • Looking at those reviews, it is obvious that when using it the instructions need to be followed.

I've been using one for close to 3 years (several times a week) and it's been fantastic.

-You can't freeze liquid in it then expect it to be able to blend it. It does perfectly well if you drop ice into it though. The ice that comes out will not be like the product from a slushie machine, but it will be quite fine.

-Keep it clean inside otherwise you will essentially glue it up and give the motor a very hard time.

-Read the instructions regarding the length of time it should be run for.

-Don't put hot liquids into it unless you gradually warm up all the glass a little at a time. Essentially it is temperature differences that will fracture the glass. I'm only intereted in using mine for cold blending though, so this hasn't worried me so far.

-To remove the blade assembly follow the instructions in the manual. It is easy if you follow the instructions.

My main complaint is that the lip where you pour from does not stick out enough, meaning that thick liquids will run down the side of the jug. Also, there's a gap that you can't get to between the glass and plastic base on the outside which will be uncleanable if you spill into it.

  • Good price for a blender, but I love my Braun MX2050. I puree hot soup in it all the time and never have to heat the jug, very tough glass. 5 speeds, easy clean. 5 or 6 years old, but never a problem.

  • I bought this last time and I was pleasantly surprised by its quality. I have had no problems blending/shredding all fruit and veges. Carrots were done with no problems. I highly recommend it.
