Yeah, i did better by calling the store also. $3,600 delivered for a 65" G1. Did not take the bait for longer than a 1 year warranty.

    • can you post receipt please?

  • Warranty any different from buying in-store?

    • Nice.

  • Ordered, then got a call 20 minutes later from the local store saying there was no stock nearby that could be delivered, do I want to cancel.

Waiting on a call back from them on Monday to find out when stock will be in, and deliverable.

Their ebay page is very misleading, given it shows

    More than 10 available / 30 sold

Item location: Essendon Fields, VIC, Australia

    I'm in a different state.

Delivery time is estimated using our proprietary method which is based on the buyer's proximity to the item location, the postage service selected, the seller's postage history, and other factors.

I feel like it is reasonable to expect delivery from Victoria, and not be denied due to there being no 'local' stock.

    Disappointing to say the least

    • Maybe they don't do interstate delivery for bigger items, or at all? Makes sense to me.

      • No, a retailer with so many local stores and warehouses around the country wouldn't be moving singular consumer items like this interstate, of course. If they did, the shipping costs would be probably be high enough to eat into the discounted price's value too much to bother with.

I'm just a bit annoyed that when I check GGs site, there's a green tick for next day delivery from warehouse to my suburb(which appears to me to suggest the local warehouse has deliverable stock), and it shows OOS at the two closest stores, with 'stock arriving soon' in the same info panel.

I'd be fine with it if it was going to take a couple of weeks for delivery, but I did have very specific TV usage planned for the last week of the month, which is why I had a 1st world problems whine.

I've been wanting an LG OLED for years, so I'm sure I won't be too devastated by waiting a bit longer for it. :)

          I'll allow it.

If you do die from it, please let us know.

        • Did you have to pay for postage via ebay? I don't have the option for pickup anywhere (as in on eBay) and would be an extra $250… so comes to around $3900…

          • @Woody982: I had to pay postage via ebay. There were no options I could find to opt out of delivery, or even change delivery options(like adding insurance), and so there was no C&C option as a result.

The delivery cost was the same on the GGs site though

            • @Freewheelin: Missed a call yesterday, no message, when I checked the number was The Good Guys. Maybe in the same boat as you. In the Delivery notes on the listing, it says: "All our online orders are despatched from one of our stores. With over 100 stores across Australia, where possible we will ship from the closest store in stock of the items you ordered. In most cases this may be your local store although from time to time we will ship items from interstate to ensure you get it as soon as possible."

It may just the local store checking if you wanted as soon as possible, as it's not in stock. If they didn't have stock numbers to sell and fulfill, and were saying they did, this would look bad for TGG. They should be able to work something out. Happy to wait personally, this is a great deal.

              • @corb: Oh wow, that is interesting, and I hadn't seen it, thanks!

Assuming the info box I saw was showing the nearest store with stock, it was far enough away(200km) that it doesn't seem that unreasonable they asked if I wanted to cancel.

I'm happy to wait, too. I'm not going to be upset if there are deals for $300-$400 less than this price in the month/s following it being delivered either, since it's still such a nice deal.

JB price matched the G1, no stock but it's on back order, said they have 60 on the way.

    • I called 1 JB store and few GG in NSW and none would match… guess it depends on the individual stores

  • Sony XR55A80J 55" A80J 4K Bravia XR OLED - $2580.75 delivered.

  • What are the chances of the 65" C1 getting below $3k any time soon (July)?

Seems the G1 is the same price as the best C1 offerings…

    • It has been below already - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/635398

      • I think he's probably looking for likelihood it's gonna happen again. I'm in the same boat. Missed the $2950 C1 and waiting

        • Thanks snuke I did see that one (should of mentioned it) as Boor alluded to.

Hard to justify the extra $700 for the G1 but if the C1 isn't likely to be cheaper than the G1 for awhile might make the plunge tonight!

  • Anyone who ordered the G1 65 received their TV yet?

    • +1

Got a call from GGs today saying they have stock in their local warehouse now.

Delivery will be some time tomorrow.

      • Which state is that in?

      • Nice, just to confirm - you got it in the end? I tried chasing my one up… TGG person said - "It hasn't even been reserved yet.", then said - "Will call you back…" :|

        • +1

Yep, I have it, but haven't installed it yet. Should be done by the weekend

  • I had a noticeable vertical band in the middle of the TV. I ran a pixel refresh and it went away, hoping it doesnt return.
