Historically popular washing machine on Ozb :)
TGG charging $55 for delivery to my postcode - YMMV.

No, you wish at this price.. lol
I do definitely wish haha
Made in China going by the old deal comments.
But has 10 year drive warranty.
Nein
sale rep at TGG advised anything above series 8 is German made
No. Series 8 is also german made
If I put 4 above 8, does that count?
BOSCH lower end models like this one are made in Thailand
If built quality and efficiency done by german company policy properly then it should not matter too much if it is made in China.
Of course German made would be better though.
Hmm, do GoodGuys do old appliance removal?
Yes. they have a premium delivery option that costs a little more
Struggling to work it out on ebay - I only see Standard Parcel and Click and Collect listed as options
Hi OP, how is this compared to Aldi's $399 washing machine, which one should i buy?
The aldi ones are pretty good, but you might struggle to get one if you don't get there early. I've had mine 3 years and hasn't skipped a beat, friend's is going on to 11 years and he thinks only just now bearing is starting to make a bit of noise, not bad for a $369 FL washer (ours are the 7.5kg)
Easy to find parts for Aldi ones?
Looks like a Haier model, some in the UK have said it's same as a Hotpoint one. haven't needed any parts yet so can't be sure
I got the $500 dollar ALDI one a couple of weeks ago. It seems to do alright. 10kg capacity and has not of the same features as the other brands.
Weighs about 85kg which was a bitch to transport.
I wouldn't complain about the weight: think metal Vs cheap plastic = durability ;-)
Are you sure? I reckon they have a decent block of mass concrete inside to hold the machine steady during a spin cycle.
@Hasbulla: Yes they do.
@ChickenDinner123: Just took apart my Samsung to fix, and there's actually 3 decent blocks of concrete attached to the tub
When they charge delivery, will they deliver it to the second floor of the apartment or just till the ground floor? Any idea?
may need a carton of beer on hand just in case
.
lol, it will always be there.
Generally, delivery means delivering at your required spot wherever it is.
Great! Thanks!
Technically no, I've paid premium delivery for them to set up my appliance and take the rubbish but they refused as apartment had stairs with a "bend" so they outright refused to take it. Weirdest delivery rejection I've had.
Drum volume of 55 litres on this model.
That would be a much better way to indicate capacity than the BS weight system. I got an LG 12kg and it's hardly any bigger than the 8.5kg it replaced.
Bosch Serie 8 German made washing machine owner here.
Since washing machine is a long term investment, you should spend some more money and get a much better built German product.

Also check this post so you get an idea what the actual capacity is. Capacity expressed in Kg can be very deceiving and varies a lot across different brands!

I had this machine for 3 years before I moved cities, never skipped a beat.
After how many years do the German ones start to go ahead? /s
PS
Don't listen to this guy, these machines are amazing, specially at this price. I'll probably get one later when I go home
Would the Esatto 7kg Heat Pump Dryer EHPD7 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/611181) be able to stack on this? (or any decent under $800 dryer). Worried that this washer might be a bit small to stack. Thinking of getting these two combo when there's a sale…
For those in VIC, you can go to e & s and they will price beat this offer. We did this last week before EOFY. Got it down to $635. It looks like e & s still have free delivery for this model as well and will remove old unit.

7, 8 and 9 kg machines only have 1 cycle that actually does the maximum load and its not by default. All other cycles are 2 - 5kg
I have this in a 7kg good machine, has been running fine for 6 years now
Here is another option for folks.. I just ordered, and they provide free shipping and pickup of old machine (I am in sydney)
this unit seemed to have good reviews on other sites. Also a german company made in China.
