      50 vOtEs nO cOmMeNtS?

    • Just one….wait make that two…hands on there is like 5 now!!!!!

    • +4

Wilson's app is crap. Secure park website is good.

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

Wilson parking's book ahead and save always doesn't work if you're booking on the day itself and it costs you less than paying when you enter. Hopefully this code would address this.

    • I've been able to use previous $5 parking bookings an hour or so beforehand.

    • friend did it like an hour before hand. no issues there.

  • +16

What comments are you expecting? "Free delivery", "Don't forget to use Cash Rewards"?

OP did a great job in posting the details, so there is nothing to clarify

    • OP is the Par King

  • Parking sorted .
    Where the BOGOF deals ?

  • Wilson Parking normally gave me evening and weekend parking for $5 through the Book a Bay function of the app.

    • I use the Wilson app quite a bit, only few car parks have $5 evening and weekend carpark, usually the ones further away from the middle of the CBD or small very tight carparks.

      QV was still $12.

Wow! For $5 parking to be considered a deal, parking must be horrible in the city.

    • +5

Street parking is $7 per hour usually until 8:30pm (sometimes a little earlier in some areas of the CBD) so yeah I'd say this is a good deal.

Moving people away from street parking is a good initiative. It isn't very efficient to have people driving around in circles looking for a spot. The space is better used for pedestrians and cyclists. The alternative ideally would be city owned parking garages like in a lot of US cities but unfortunately in Australia privatisation is all the rage.

        $7/hour? Geez..

        • +3

What planet are you on Bud standard parking around $16 ph ( 50% off after hours ) from Wilson .

          • -3

@popsiee: From the planet 'don't drive to the city'.

            • @OnepunchDan: At night time it's normally around $20-25 flat rate. I'd rather pay $20 for a car of 4 people than each person be slogged $12 on Myki fare and we save an hr of travel time by driving in. Can also leave on your own time rather than having to wait 20min for the train to come (or worse, the night rider…). Driving to the city is far superior than public transit unless there is an event on causing congestion.

              • @Agret: Clearly this deal is for people who rather not take public transport and are willing to pay good money on parking. Also it's not worth paying > $20 on parking if you're only travelling by yourself is it?
Obviously if I drive to the city and use paid parking alot then I would've considered this a good deal. Fact is I don't travel to the city often so people needa chill. My post is not discounting the fact that this may be a bargain for others..

How does booking work, never done before. What do you do at the gate?

    • +6

You have to lightly bump the boom gate at the gate 3x then reverse back to the intercom machine and press and hold the ticket button for 5 seconds. Then tap intercom 4x and the person on other end will match that to your online booking and open the gate for you.

    • On a serious note, how does it work?

      • +4

Put in your car number plate and they have plate recognition. Or linked to your credit card (insert same card as you booked)

  • +1

FOMO discount code, I thought this is investment, crypto services or something.

  • Where do you enter this on the app can't find it?

  • Now to get rid of those stupid new bike lanes.

  • +1

    awesome deal

  • +2

Meh. Good deal on parking, but there's nothing worth seeing or going to in the CBD anymore anyway.

  • Planning to spend a Friday night at a city hotel, anyone knows if I can just book one session from friday afternoon to sat morning and another one from Saturday morning to evening? Or do I have to move the car out and re-enter at the expiry of the first parking session?

    • you can a long weekend session depending on the carpark, normally works out to be cheaper.

      • Neither chain allows me to book a longer session online somehow. Says no product found when I book from friday afternoon to sat afternoon. Weird.

  • $5 parking have been around for a while probably not as many parking locations as this.

  • Any recommendation for a cheap overnight parking?

City is dead thanks to the unnecessary and long lasting lockdowns and restrictions.

They will lockdown the state though If there are 4 people are coughing at their homes tomorrow. Parking is available yet bars and clubs are barely open.

    • +1

The city might be dead but atleast you are not.

      • -1

Yes because I'm not 95 years old diabetic person.

  • -1

i'd rather a 2 week lock-down early on (with 4 cases) than a 2 month lock-down when its gone out of control (like in Sydney)

    • It takes two months to get back to the pre lockdown conditions though.

      • In what way do you mean exactly?
Once a lock-down ends we're mostly free to do what we want. If people are too afraid to go to bars and clubs that's not because of the lock-down, that's because people are still scared from the last outbreak. More so if the outbreak was severe. If NSW had done what the other states are doing with their early circuit-breaker lock-downs (when there are only a few cases) they wouldn't be in the mess they're in now. The pubs and clubs in Sydney are f'ed for the next 3 months and it could've all been prevented.
A single party at the wrong time could spread the virus like crazy and cause hundreds on people to quarantine at home.

just used it the past weekend, 2 days in a row. $5 parking is a bargain

  • Please do sydney

  • +1

    Parking should be free

  • awesome deal, but previously using secure a parking for weekend and weekday evening parking also around $5

  • +2

$5 is about what parking should cost at any time. Parking prices are the biggest scam ever.

  • Any good all day parking about?

    • What days were you looking and how long for?
Queen Vic Market has all day parking for $18 on non market days (Monday & Wednesday). Plenty of car parks do early bird deals, get in before 9-10am (depending on car park).
Just saw 420 Lonsdale Rd does $15 early bird on Monday and Friday with promo code MONFRIYAY.
      Don’t know if that helps.

      • I'll check it out.. thanks very much

  • Anyone got the weeknight to work without having to exit before 6am?

  • Anyone got this working. It is not working for me at the moment

  • +2

Booked with Wilson for the weekend (online booking did not work in my FireFox but was OK in Chrome)
$5 including booking/fees, where it seems the other two companies add another $1 or so more.

    • Thanks Wolfy, yep wouldn't work with firefox
