60k are going to be at the semis and final and the atmosphere around England will be electric.

All made possible in a large part by Astra Zeneca.

Whatever your feelings about the vaccines, the simple reality is this wouldn’t be happening without it.

    • It could have happened without the vaccines.

      • -4

It would have happened if China wasn't an (profanity).

        • murdoch eater

      • you are like that dumbass truck driver who brought the Delta covid to NSW

        • You're like that brainwashed moron. Try to understand how the world actually works.

          • @Dentshop: yeah dont need a lecture from a highschool dropout who thinks the earth is flat

  • -4

Wait, I'm confused. There was a UEFA EURO in 2020 too? And why is everyone so excited about that?

    • The 2020 tournament was postponed to 2021.

  • Covid caused it to be held this year even though they refer to it as 2020.

Eh back to watching AFL, at least no rolling and pretending. Tells you how significant AFL is in this country.

    • +3

      Lol AFL is dying sport

      • -3

Lol yeah sure it is. Go back to watching some Italians roll around like ballerinas and pay 10 streaming services to to watch it. Oh and no Les Murray to call the game anymore :( Gone are the good old days of football.

        • 'Go back to watching some English roll around like ballerinas and pay 10 streaming services to to watch it.'

          modern football

        • If you think it’s only the Italians, you are sadly mistaken

        • and you go back to watching something thats has 1/100th the viewership just to be a hipster

  • awesome! will have danish croissants ready for whole evening/morning. ls wimbledon matches caught up the same time too?

Anyone know if they have Copa Americas Peru v Brazil game?

    • +2

They will, not for free though

      • Thanks mate

  • I have been watching the Euros on the BBC Iplayer, using a VPN. The broadcast is good and up until the England V Ukraine game the picture and sound were working fine. The BBC has a commentary team that knows its stuff, former England players being used. I'm wondering whether to switch to Optus for the finals, all comments gratefully received.

    • If the VPN + BBC is working stick with it. Optus is good but only 720p

      • Thanks Terry

Aussie Aussie Aussie…… Oi Oi Oi !!!!

5am… yawn… no wonder they made it free

  • Seems to be restricting me from airplay is that the same for anyone else? I can only watch it on the computer and when I try to either screen mirror or airplay to Apple TV it says I’m not authorised

    • Just use the Apple TV app? Unless you’ve got an older Apple TV?

      • Don’t seem to have an option to play Optus sports through the app though

        • As in - go to the App Store on your Apple TV and download the Optus app to watch.

          • +1

@TightTerry: Ah thanks! I’ll see if that works for the next 2 games

  • Watched the game this morning, major buffering/ playback issues from around 70mins in, I thought Optus ironed out all these issues after the 2018 World cup?

    • Glad i wasn't the only one that was having issues. They had ironed out all their issues after the 2018 world cup however it seems like opening the doors to the public is causing the same issue to re-appear.

I was hoping this wasnt going to cause servers to overload again and issues to appear but it seems it has….. its only going to get worse for the England game tomorrow and then the final as well.

      • Mine dropped out twice too.
You’d think they’d be ready for all the extra streams seeing as the invited every man and his dog.

    • I watched using the Fetch mini with no issues, could be an app thing.

    Replays not free :(

    • Me disappointed too seeing as the first game on the tournament that was streamed free is also free on demand. Might just sign up and watch all the England games (six so far) before the final on Monday.

  • Does Euro2020 use VAR? Didn’t seem to see those VAR BS in EPL - running to the sideline and interruption of the game. Euro 1 England 0

    • Yes of course they use it

    • lol. england have beaten VAR today

  • C’mon England!!!! Kane gives us a goal!!!

    • +2

      that's not a penalty

      • I picked it. Thank you very much! Who is the man!!!

      • and the Danish Free kick wasnt a free kick either

        • keep making excuses rofl, when its given against you, you’ll sing a different tune.

  • I'm an Optus customer (not Optus Sports) and I want to watch on my old fashioned non-smart TV. Usually I hook up to my old fashioned windows 7 laptop with a hdmi cable.
Do I need to stream the match through the actual app - or can I log in and stream through a browser on my laptop?

What are the alternatives? I just visited Kayo Sports but can't find anything about Euro 2020 there.

    • You need to use the optus sports page. Wether you're a customer or not. The laptop method should work (using my laptop via HDMI to watch atm).

    It's Coming home!!

    • +2

      It's going ROMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

      • Fair enough Its GOING ROME!!!

        FORZA Azzurri!!!

  • I couldn’t even watch it when I paid for it let alone for free. The few times I tried and the stream played for more than 10 seconds it was pixelated but most of the time it just kept buffering constantly. Optus told me it wasn’t anything to do with their app yet on my Apple TV 4K I stream Netflix Kayo Stan daily and other video apps regularly which all work flawlessly so their advice was to disconnect every other device from my network or find a different internet connection besides my Optus 4G mobile data or home NBN WiFi. It’s never Optus’ fault they do everything perfectly in their world.

Thank god it was only $5

Penalties is such a bad way to end the final.

  • Marcus Rashford, 1 up in penalties, got to take a stupid penalty

  • +1

    The trophy going Rome….

  • Hahahah United players are dumb RESPECT!!!

  • Watched it on YouTube. It's not really LIVE as Optus advertised it, there was a delay of about 15-20 minutes or so. I was happily watching the match and then a message came on my phone saying "Italy won!" - that was before the extra time had ended…
