Are you like me and have a stack of Telstra points, and nothing to spend them on? Why not make use of the near 35% discount from the usual 50k points to just 32k and grab yourself a Gen 2 Nest Hub.

It sure if that’s such a good deal. You need to spend a lot of money to get to the 32,000pts 🤷♂️
Some people got 30,000 points with the xbox subscription through Telstra, which was a great deal, it's enough for a free Xbox controller or almost a Nest Hub.
My Gen1 just started having the dreaded screen issues and is no longer under warranty… tempting..
They have 2 year warranty have they even been out that long?
Yeah got it in 2018
Ask Google, not hey google, call them or email, likely to help.you out to keep you in the system.
@eggaz: Tried that, after a bit of back and forth they confirmed outside of warranty and it was probably not the answer I was looking for…
What issues with the screen?
My screen stopped showing the colour red, so everything including white and grey had a blue hue to it, except for the boot-up screens which were perfect grey tones.
All came good after a factory reset.
Tried factory reset but no luck. It's random horizontal white lines, and the photos all look low quality/resolution as a result… even the UI looks fuzzy now compared to my other Nest Hub.
What does one of these do?
They’re across quite useful. Ask the weather, stream music, control the cameras and garage door, can play some games, and shows photos
One thing the kids found out recently which blew their little minds, is if you have a chromecast (and a google home/hub), you can say “hey google, turn off the tv” and it’ll turn it off!
You can also ask Google to cast what you're watching on the Nest to a compatible TV, it's really convinient.
You can also broadcast messages around your home. Cool feature for calling the kids to dinner or to annoy your pets if you don't have kids.
Oh I so agree, tops number 1 over Optus by far, try too talk too a real person over the phone all I can say is good luck
Must be telstra fans here with all the down votes. People have no idea what a decent company are. Telstra were recently sued for 50m highest in history On 26 November 2020, the ACCC instituted Federal Court proceedings against Telstra for admitted unconscionable conduct in the sale of post-paid mobile products to Indigenous consumers.
I think people are negging as the company being "the worst company ever" means little, we are Ozbargainers (said in This is Sparta tone), we want deals. If we can get one and the warranty isn't via Telstra then who cares?
Thanks. What’d you have for breakfast?
I grabbed one because it’s cheaper with some points compared with RRP. I moved away from Telstra, so might as well use the remaining points that I didn’t even intend to use.
no video calling?
You need a camera for video calls and it hasn't got one.
can we connect to any camera for whatsapp video call?
You need the Max version that comes with the video camera. It only allows Duo video calls though.
Ic
Incorrect. Zoom also works for video calls.
Ok didn't know this. thanks.
I have three Gen 1 hubs and a Lenovo hub as well. Google is better. A bit disappointed with the sound quality though. Nest Minis gen 2 are MUCH better with music
thanks op
Thanks OP! I have an alert set up for home hub deals, been waiting for something worth while!
I didn’t realise I even had a Telstra plus account, clicked on your deal and low and behold I have 8500 points! Haven’t been with Telstra for a couple of years, so must have signed up ages ago. With travel closed it is nice to have one's own spy. I got stuck with one of Jeff's.
Let’s check my balance…. 32,075 pts.
So be it!
Thanks. Never knew about this Telstra plus. Signed up
Thanks grabbed one with the 2000 points and $99
These are $99 on special for the week. Can anyone convince telstra to lower the points+pay price?
Not bad. Also for 2000pts you can top up $99 which is also a cheap way to buy these gen 2 hubs.
