  • Never heard of this brand. Anyone have experience and can provide comment?

    • Pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

I have the 60lts for over 2years now and works a treat, use a bit more power then the expensive brands but exceptional for the price , and now I jst bought the 95 for the camper( it use a lg compressor) , it also come.with 3years warranty and Jaycar is really good with warranty

That’s similar to what I’ve heard. Based on the people who I’ve talked to the general claim seems to be that the quality is similar to or slightly better than the cheaper dometic units but they draw a little more power, however the price is very good when on sale and they seemed to be rugged enough for 4x4 adventures.

They are fantastic. Good quality and great value, 3 yrs warranty too.

They've been around for a while. I have the 45l, its been fantastic so far.

Jaycar are reputable and great to deal with. 3 year warranty says the rest.

      • Not saying anything about this particular product but IMO Jaycar generally sell the cheapest crap for not the cheapest prices.

        • Back in the day their response amps and speakers used to be considered pretty good entry level car audio equipment for the price.

I have the 36L brass monkey fridge running no stop for 1 year so far. I put it in the back of the ute for camping and set it up under the gazebo sometimes. Never missed a beat.

With the warranty I'm happy with it.

    Cool

This is a massive fridge, consider if you actually need something this big as it'll take up space and won't run as efficiently as it can unless its packed full.

    • Great for your camper trailer.

I have the 50lt version and it's always worked well.

  • If your after a smaller fridge, The 60L Kings is $420 with the afterpay code delivered. Includes an andersen lead as well. Pretty darn good considering it has a SECOP BD35F compressor and a 2 year warranty. Shame it doesnt just plug in with a 240V lead anymore but it does include the 240 adapter I believe.

I have already made andersen cords for my existing fridge which I will use so I saved an extra $5 and got the one with the tie downs.

Ive never bothered with a bag, just seems to be another obstruction to getting a beer out. True ozbargainers would just throw a beach towel over it if in the sun.

  • Was looking at fridges the other day and noticed a couple of good buys around this capacity on Gumtree atm. Dometic CFX 75,95 for $800 ea, both with covers. Smaller One in Adelaide, the other in Sydney. Still available it seems. Signifcantly dearer obviously but much better products overall.

Note that some of the last two years dometic range don’t use secop compressors anymore

      • They've been using their own for many some years afaik. As good as you'll get, along with Secop (Danfoss). Basic info here for anyione interested: https://www.mygenerator.com.au/blog/a-look-at-the-best-compr…
I haven't looked but doubt the variable speed Waeco compressor is used in all their CFX range? Bonus if they do.

        • Seems I have my own little negging stalker. Grow up junior/Uncle, or if that's beyond you (highly likely) at least grow ONE.

          • @[Deactivated]: Have a poz. Probably someone that doesn’t realise secop and danfoss are now the same company?

            • @mapax: Why thanks mapax. Too kind, and unnecessary. If I'm not mistaken he's a mother's brother still approaching adult maturity who rates himself very highly - judging by his smart-arse comments elsewhere. Just wanted to let him know I know is all.

  • That funky monkey

  • Picked up an engel on ebay with the afterpay discount. I think that's about the only time you'll see these units with some decent discounts.

    • Highly regarded fridges for good reason, as are quite a few other brands.

      • What kind of battery setup do you use with them?
Any good EOFY deals to pair with fridge?
Looks like you can pickup an ecoflow delta with the ebay/afterpay discount. Then there's jackery and bluetti.

But it seems like the consensus in youtube land is that they're overpriced toys and you're better off DIY.
I'm looking for something like those 'solar generators' mentioned above, but with the ability to replace the Lifepo4 battery when needed. It seems like once the life cycle is through with them, you have to ditch the whole unit.

        • 12V 100Ah LFP in a battery box, with a solar blanket (/panel).
