As law abiding citizen in NSW, unfortunately I can't buy one even I really want one.

    • Same here. Very keen on getting one but not keen on getting fines for riding an unregistered and uninsured "vehicle".

    • Go away and dont be a hero….

  • can these be ridden in rain?

    • I got caught out once. Would not recommend riding in the rain at all.

    • +1

Yes, to some extent. It's water-resistant, but not waterproof. The electrical components are all encased, so they function fine during rain. The rest of the exterior is plastic, rubber or metal that copes fine with getting wet.

Getting caught in the rain is fine, but riding through deep water is likely to be a problem. I suspect it would not survive total immersion.

  • Great price, thanks!

I have the first gen scooter (m365 pro). Great scooter for the price however it does struggle up inclines and going up slopes/hills. you'll need a more powerful dual motor scooter to go up much steep inclines and slopes. Food for thought.

    • +1

I have the M365 pro and done the firmware hack, makes it much better coping with hills and better top speed.

  • Worth upgrading to this over the original M365 pro?

Does this scooter have front brakes? If so, not so hard to have it registered with a few simple mods to add front and back plate lights + back constant red light + right hand mirror and use motorcycle licence to ride it here in VIC

Repeating my question in the past since I asked it too late last time:

What do you do with the electric scooter when you reach a location (office/supermarket/mall/open market/whatever really)?
Do you just bring it inside with you or do you park it with bike chain on a bike pole or something like that? I just can't imagine lugging this thing around for example if I go to a place like Ikea

Again, I'm asking because I never seen anyone inside building with electric scooter nor I see parked electric scooter with chain, so I'm genuinely confused what the electric scooter owner actually do with their scooter when they reach the end of their commute

    • I ride mine to the station, then fold it up on the train and walk it into the office. I leave it under my desk charging at work. Nobody really seems to notice too much. But our office is pretty empty these days so

    • +1

I would not want to take mine to the shops. You can use a bike chain and lock it to a pole but I usually use mine for commute to office. Earlier, I could fold it and keep it under the desk but the new building forces me to keep it licked in the bike rack. Not an issue as its a safe space. In public, I wouldn't want to do this regularly.

"the new building forces me to keep it licked"

Man you have some weird sadistic building there. Not to mention the cost of hiring a licker. I feel for you.

          Good pickup :)

I lock up the back wheel to the bicycle post when I have to leave the scooter outside a short while.
I also disable the m365 via the xiaomi app so the scooter won't accelerate when throttle is pressed.

Having said above, I won't be leaving my scooter outside for a whole day. Because the gap at the back wheel is too small so it limits the chain lock to a rather small size.

    • When I had an NYCewheels Kickped (oh I miss that scooter) I would ride it to the shops/supermarket/whatever, and just wheel it around with me inside.

It was also light enough that I could sling it onto my back - may or may not work with a heavy escooter.

    What's OzB's favorite scooter overall?

    • Not me, I want ninebot max G30. This is not to say this xiaomi one is not a good scooter though. I just prefer one than the other.

    • +1

I got the Zero 8 Value with 13ah battery, max speed 38km/h. Paid under $1000, it's a lot like audio, pay a lot more for a little bit better quality/perfromance.

Considering it’s Aus stock, would this be covered under warranty through Gearbite?

  • Hi Rep, any deal on whale spout? Still sitting at $389…. Haven't seen that usual $330 price for ages!

  • +1

    Is there cashrewards for this?

  • Got this for $600 a few months ago. Ride it everyday and have hacked it to go up to 30kmh in ACT. Follow the pro2 wiki at scooterhacking.org
Done a few trips in pouring rain, just left it to dry and wiped off the mud the next day.
Don't take it anywhere I can't take it indoors with me. Work let's me charge it at my desk.
Starts losing its grunt under 60% charge but I can still go 25kmh on flat ground at 20%.
    I weigh 100kg.
    Would recommend.
Just don't get a flat tyre as I've heard it is a massive pain to change.

  • Any chance of matching at JB?

Hey @gearbrite, hows about a deal on the S5 max? Literally hundred people waiting for a very long time

Me included 👍 otherwise some will head to the current kogan deal (noone wants that)

  • Tempted. Was looking at the 1s.
