  • What's the advantage over this one from bunnings?
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/arlec-grid-connect-smart-4-outle…

    • +1

Kasa app is excellent and gets very positive reviews and feedback. I don't have any experience for the arlec app but will vouch for Kasa any day

      • Definitely agree with you on that point: the gridconnect app does work but the interface is pretty crappy

      • Yep, the Kasa app is pretty good. However, I've just switched Mesh routers and and there's no way to change in the app so have to reregister each plug. Not a great user experience.

Exact same here haha, you don't realise how many wifi things in the house until buying a new router… Yikes… I got the Mesh M9 and love it, hope yours is going well

          • @cook99: out of curiosity was there any reason you didn't just set the new router wifi settings to the same as old ones?

            • @peter05: OCD mixed with didn't know how…
OCD= Old one was labelled Asus, new one is Mesh M9.

              • +1

                @cook99: oh haha.

it may never come up but it's probably security wise not the best thing to put the model of your device in your wifi broadcast as a particular model could have a vulnerability that can be exploited with that knowledge

                • @peter05: Good advice, now to tackle my OCD vs security concerns, can I do it 🤔

  • I think the one from Bunnings is a better value.

  • I have been using the one from Kogan

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-smarterhome-smart-power-b…

I connect it via tuya app and also configured it for homebridge.

I have it working on google, Alexa abd Apple HomeKit

You can sign up for a free trial and get it for $39.99.

    Comes with power monitoring too.

    All the best
