    To clarify, its $100 saving split into 3, 70 off 1st 20 off 2nd and 10 off 3rd.
first box costs 40 if original price is 100+10 shipping.

    • +5

First box is free if you choose 3 meals for 2 (70$ value)

    • +1

Mine shows as $60 off the first, $20 off the second and $20 off the third

  • +1

Can i sign up again with a different email or do they check addresses and mobile numbers..

    • +2

I’ve done it a couple of times. Use a new email and mobile.

    • +2

Yes, I've had multiple free boxes delivered to the same address. Use a different name, email and mobile (the number isn't needed for any purpose anyway).

    • +4

We've noticed that you're very hungry for some more HelloFresh and we don't blame you.

Unfortunately, our records show that your household already has a HelloFresh subscription and unfortunately our vouchers are only valid once per household.

used a different email but the same payment method I think?

      • +1

yep i always had to use different cards. i've run out of options now

        • +1

I just moved so I'm going to have another shot. also I'm going to get my old accounts deleted because they shouldn't be storing payment info.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: I actually just moved too. get so many offers to reactivate all the old accounts i can just cycle through i suppose.

Honestly don't use HF that often. Just that moving and renovating has been insane.

        • +4

I'm now using revolut's disposable card feature for unlimited cards

          • +1

@lawyerz: is this free to use, any restrictions or things I should note?

            • +3

@sakurakiks: Nope. Free to use. Free account includes disposable cards despite not listed on the website.

for hellofresh: I use random phone number. New IP. Incognito/diff browser for no cookies. Add in space, dash, or dot in address and not use the drop down list. Diff name. Works about 90% of the time. Feels like getting harder recently though.

          • +1

@lawyerz: Hey mate. Thinking of getting revolut just for the free disposable cards… The website says only fee paying 'premium' and 'metal' accounts get disposable cards. You get this with standard account?

edit: NVM just reread your comment. Thanks!

            • +1

@jimboner: just to reaffirm, yes I'm getting disposable cards with the standard free account. I'm not on any trial or whatever, and its been 3 weeks but I've used the disposable card feature several times now.

Not sure whats up with the discrepancy with the website details.

          • @lawyerz: couldnt you just use a visa gift card?

            • @redrooter99: why go through the process to buy and activate visa gift cards when there is a completely free, unlimited virtual cards at my disposable?

you need a different card number for each new account…

        • +2

Coles Gift MasterCards worked for me.

      • +1

As a test I just did another box to the same address to see if I would get that message, but fortunately still no apparent issues.

Forgot to mention previously that it should be different payment method as well as name, email and mobile.

    • +2

It worked three times, last time they said that's enough sir.

  • +1

How do you get the free box and just pay for shipping? Can't get it to work

    • +2

Did you click the refer link then pick 2x3 meals option? It should minus $70.

      • +2

they charge an additional $10 for non metro delivery

        • +1

I'm in Metro and the delivery is $10 as well

  • +2

Does anyone know why sometimes you a few cards for few boxes to give to friends… and sometimes you don't?

    • +2

They probably have low volume of orders so they want to give away some for free

    • +1

      Yep.

  • +1

Does anyone recommend a particular meal/recipe?

    • +2

I have been on and off again claimed a few free boxes and finally settled into HCF 10% discount on all boxes including future deliveries. Some meals are fantastic and other times bit mediocre. The most important thing is convenience and letting go of worrying about what to cook. We go for 3 deliveries a week and some kids friendly meals have been a hit in our household.

Our best cooks so far have been
      - all salmon dishes
      - pesto crumbed chicken with salad
      - roast cherry tomato and pesto pasta ( this was smashing good)

  • +6

Just started this. On the second box. Pretty big meals and tasty. Lots of sauce (too much for some meals), so add sauce to food gradually rather than food to sauce. Could possibly get 3 small meals from the 2 meal packs. Everyplate is a bit smaller and cheaper, but not as good. There are heaps of companies doing this to trial (in cities).

You have to change or cancel about 8 days before delivery so don’t leave it too late.

  • +3

Great meals, great portion sizes, great referral program. Hello fresh are the pick of the meal delivery services I have tried…

  • +1

This is new to me. So are they cooked meals delivered to you or just packed ingredients for you to cook?

    • +5

Fresh ingredients with instruction cards for you to cook. If you look on their website (or the cards) you'll see each meal has preparation and cooking time estimates so you can pick the faster (or more laborious) options. If that's your thing…

      • +3

        Thanks for the clarification.

    • +1

The latter. You can pay extra for prepared meals, but referral credit doesn't count towards it.

      • +3

        Thanks 2

  • +1

Just stick in the microwave,.. simple as that?

Edit: I should've read above umm maybe I'm hungry 👍😁

    • +6

      Definitely not.

You're after a YouFoodz or something from your supermarket freezer. These are all market fresh and do require some knifework and prep time - and often, an offensive amount of bowls, pots and pans. The effort is justified though - great flavours and freshness, and you'll learned plenty of new techniques and recipes along the way…

      • +3

Your words certainly sound tasty, thanks something I might look into cheers 👍😁

Edit: Wondering how often do these deals pop up for HelloFresh?

        • +3

Often - they are a constant part of their customer acquisition strategies, but this one worth $100 is as good as it gets since I've been a member.

      • +5

        I'd echo this

I've gone from cooking less than 10 meals in 15 years of marriage (outside bbq, pizza and spag Bol), to cooking 2-3 times a week for our family

I don't love it, but I definitely don't hate it and it's very easy to follow the steps.

Minus occasionally forgetting a few things

        • +2

          Ill echo on this.

This takes the "effort" out of cooking for me which is deciding on the meal, shopping for it, and then making it.

Having the cards and everything ready makes it super nice for me personally.

          • +1

@Jofzar: Also less waste. You do not need to buy a whole whatever of something and have the remainder go off. You just get the amount you need.

  • +1

Sometimes I get $70 referral credit and sometimes $50. Strange

  • -7

just tried this for the first time for the $10 delivery fee. based on the menu items and ingredients - never again.

  • -1

Sorry, maybe I'm being stupid but how do you make this work? There are no instructions and the link doesn't take you to a discount.

    • The referral link works perfectly fine for me. Plus the instruction after "***Tip" is as clear is it gets. Reread the OP might help. Not sure why you neg the deal just because you didn't read the OP properly.
(Ah looks like you retracted the neg vote)

  • +1

I signed up, got the discount, then filled in my address and it says "Sorry, we can't deliver to this area right now". I'm about 25 minutes down south of Hobart. Do they not deliver in Tasmania?

  • +2

Thank you got myself 3 meals for the week.

I've ran out of numbers, worked with some random digits. Sorry to the poor bugger who gets a text when it's delivered.

    Any good meals to recommend?

    • +1

I'm not a vegetarian but I've noticed the meals to be pretty tasty.

    • +3

their menu seems to change all the time, but i had a really good dukkah crusted salmon, crumbed chicken, and beef stirfry with an amazing sauce.

also learnt that adding sliced pear to any salad makes them fcking tasty!!

  • +3

Hmmm. Not sure why this deal with it's current 64 + votes, doesn't show up on my front page (with default settings). I think it's the best referral deal they've ever offered. Can only assume that because it's a referral deal they are pushed down the scoring analytics to make it harder for the front page to be dominated by such offers.

Regardless, thanks OP. I've taken the opportunity to send out a few boxes to family members to sample the offering. Cheers.

  • +1

What, it says Sorry, it looks like we can't apply this discount as the offer has expired. Any one got ideas?

  • +2

Sorry, it looks like we can't apply this discount as the offer has expired.

    Edit: Still gives a $50 discount… but not a $70.

    But the totals don't add up - $75.93 Total: - $15.93

  • +1

Is there any way to see meal options before committing to the purchase?

    • +4

      they change week to week.

Here's the food options for the coming week
      https://imgur.com/a/p6mOCKb

Their food is pretty delicious. Have been using them since Nov 2020.

  • +1

so whats the best way to cancel after the first box is received?

    • +7

set week 2 and 3 to skip. wait till you get your delivery then cancel. do this when choosing your week 1 meals.

      • +1

Does this work for other similar offers like 40% off first box, 20% off second box etc…
I'm happy at 40% off a box but not the pidly 10% on week 3

      • +1

Does not seem to work that way for an existing account. I have some credit to use, logged in, re-activated select meals, first window available is 03/07 and can only pause now which would be this order. So looks like have to wait until next week before can pause future weeks.

        • +1

No - you can definitely do it on existing accounts too. Just look for the box "Edit my delivery" under the weekly calendar showing delivery schedule.

          • +2

@UncleRico: Thanks, that was a bit confusing but worked it out. Bit sly the site design!

  • +1

What the fk… I just got billed $75.93 by Paypal after selecting the referral code and it said all I had to pay was shipping?

    Ordered 2 x 3 meals

    • +1

      damn thats the full price

    • +1

      Call up and complain

      • +1

They refunded my money so at least customer service was easy enough to deal with.
Was told the referral code wasn't accepted. Don't know why, because it was still showing up on the Account as having being accepted.

Most annoying part though is the page said I would only be billed for Shipping and it was $0 cost before I paid so imagine my surprise when the whole amount was billed.

Totally get if the referral code doesn't work, or if I'm not a valid customer (for whatever reason - maybe I signed up to HF in another life I cannot remember), but they should tell you your not eligible before they hit you with the full purchase price, instead of showing up as valid.

Maybe a system error. Anyway, enough to make me not bother trying again.

        • +2

I had a similar thing happen before, though my case was different to yours. As far as I can theorise, it was seemingly due to a gross error with cookies (not the edible type) in my case.

Definitely surprised and annoyed to see a full RRP charge after the $0.00 payment page. Fortunately they have livechat at all hours and quickly refunded (though they made out as if they were doing a big favour).

Since then I always clear cookies and monitor the credit card charges, and it's been smooth sailing. Gotten many boxes with no issue.

  • +1

Fantastic, I have just added my referral code as I have $100 off too!

  • +3

the gift that keeps on giving. Signed up to the last deal and added my referral code at the time. Have received $210 so far today in credits. Last time i got about $500 odd in credits that i all but used it. Rather than cancelling my account I've just kept skipping deliveries waiting for a new deal to come along and rack up some more credits.

  • +1

Do Ozbargain referral setting get reset every so often, because my referral wasn't there and had to redo it. Periodic wipe by admin or something?

    • +1

Yep, referral codes automatically expire (how long depends on the referral type), but can also be flushed by the mods where appropriate.

      • +1

Is there anyway to know how often so as to set a reminder to re-enter them?

        • +3

When they expire automatically you should receive a notification inviting you to re-enter the referral code.

  • +1

Where do you get the referral code for $70 off the 1st box? Is it the one above giving random referral codes?

  • +1

I just clicked on the referral link from the post and put in email id. On next screen for sign up it shows you have chosen "Meat & Veggie" . Is there a way to choose only Veggie option during signup or after signup ? or the meals are fixed?

    • +2

You can change it in your account. They have a cut off date for when you can make changes to your delivery.

  • +1

    All good. Deleted comment

    • +1

Some referral offers change week to week depending on who your referral is from.

Last time I checked, the $50 discount also included free shipping, whereas the $70 discount still had $9.99 shipping on top, so it's only really $10 difference.

If you're determined to get it, just click through the referal link at the top and cross for fingers for a $70 random referral - or keep trying until you get one.

      • +1

Yes referral link at the top worked fine. I am now finding my code to add to the list

  • +2

I’ve ordered 3 boxes so far and have really enjoyed the meals. I’ve been loving chicken, veggie and baby spinach salads.

    • +1

Did you find the chicken fresh? Everything is good besides the chicken I find

      • +1

I’ve found the chicken good every time I’ve gotten it. It’s vacuum sealed. If I had one complaint, it’s the veggies, I find if I don’t cook them right away they go bad very quick. I bought a veggie storer from Kmart which helps keep them longer, but the bagged salad and spinach barely lasts a couple of days.

  • +1

I just signed up. Where can I find my referral code?

    • +1

click on the hellofriend top right

  • +1

So, can we change the pre-selected meal? I tried to change but there is a $9.90. I'm not sure about it since this is my first time.

    • +1

That’s delivery fee can’t avoid it

  • +1

Email confirmation after signing up says:

Enjoy 40% off your first box + FREE shipping, 30% off your second box and 10% off your third and fourth boxes!

    • +1

Sounds like a different promotion to this referral campaign.

Are you sure you clicked through directly from the referral link at the top of the page?

      • +1

Yes, could be just an out of date confirmation email. It arrived in my spam folder. Did you guys not get the same email?

  • +1

Last time with this promotion, the shipping was free as well. Is this not the case anymore?

    • +1

Each of the dozen or so campaigns I've indulged in the past year have always had shipping as an additional $9.90.

The only exception was when they dropped the $70 discount to $50 discount, at which time free shipping was added, albeit for a net loss of $10 worth of value.

Shy of being gifted the free boxes, this is as good as it gets…

    • +1

That was a system glitch where you could use credit to cover shipping cost. That’s long gone.

  • +3

On my 5th consecutive month with Hello Fresh. I do 3x meals (for 2 people) a month. Their meals have overall been tasty and filling, can recommend.

My main goal is to try their recipes once a month and then do them on my own as it works out a lot cheaper. Having everything delivered to you fresh is very convenient though.
