Entered my postcode and they gave me the option to pick it up… they are a 9 hour drive from where I live.

    • +39

option is there, that's on you for not driving down 9 hours to pick it up

    • I'll give you the option to come pick it up from me, if you can figure out where I am

What are the odds I use the keys 60 million times in 2 years? If not why isn't the warranty longer?

    • +5

the keys might be rated to 60 million presses, but the rest of the keyboard isn't.

  • Anyone know how this compares to the kogan mechanical keyboards?

    • Kogan keyboards suck so much. I got the $20 one. Feels so clunky to type on, I rather just use my laptop KB.

  • Decent deal but the design looks near identical to the Kogan keyboard.

  • +1

I wished there are red switches at $20

  • Seems like they've got a few more, this one is half the price of Centre Com

    • They look exactly the same though, can you spot the difference?

      • +3

Cooler Master one is RGB, it looks gorgeous and premium

      • +2

Would personally pay the extra for this Cooler Master any day of the week, they make great keyboards :)

  • +3

Me when this is for $49, hmm looks decent.
Also me when the same thing for $19, not good enough!!

How good are the blue keys on there entry level mechanical keyboards. I'm in the market for a new keyboard and never owned a mechanical keyboard. So unsure of all the different key colour types.

    • +4

      buy now repent later :)

    • It says Cherry MX blues. If that's true then they'd be good quality, but given how vague they are about it and because they only actually mention that in one spot I'm sceptical.

      Blues are very loud.

      • Where does it say Cherry MX?

        • Very bottom of the page but it is glaringly absent from mention in all other locations the switch colour is mentioned

          • +1

@BrokeCamel: The Cherry switch claim only shows up on the mobile version of the website. For a desktop browser, that entire table at the bottom of the page doesn't show.

Mwave supplied the false claim that the keyboard has Cherry switches, the keyboard's manufacturer doesn't claim that.

      • +2

Not Cherry MX. The same page also says it has a "Nano USB receiver", when it's a wired keyboard. As usual, Mwave know very little about the products they sell, always do your own research before buying anything from them. To be fair, all of their claims were copied direct from the Rapoo website.

Here is the manufacturer's product page: https://www.rapoo-eu.com/product/v500-pro/
If you play the video on that page (it's 30 seconds long), they show a close-up of the switches with the keycaps removed. Each switch has "Rapoo" stencilled on it, so they're Rapoo-brand blue switches.

        Here's a review: https://www.rapoo-eu.com/product/v500-pro

        • Lighting isn't RGB, it's fixed in the colours you see in the picture. You can adjust four levels of brightness, and can select the backlight between off/constant on/breathing modes.
        • no driver is available for download.
        • comes with a key cap puller

Here's a video review on Youtube, 9 minutes long. Appears to be a British 105-key variant, has a different-shape enter key, has the backslash key added between the left shift and Z keys, and an extra key to the left of the enter key: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9mFDwSt7vM

        • Jeez I'm cancelling my order. So deceptive the ad

    • they're good if you like your key presses loud and tactile. maybe not so good for the people around you ;)

    • Pay $12.28 extra for the genuine Cherry MX blues here

The EOFY pricing from Mwave is extremely good

  • $11 for delivery

    • I found sometimes the eBay stores have cheaper delivery for the same price.

Uses own branded "Rapoo" blue switches

Typing this comment on a Cherry MX blue keyboard and if it's anything similar, it will be very loud

  • thanks OP, was looking for mechanical keyboards the last few weeks after using membrane for years, got this and M700 Extended Gaming Mouse Pad for 40 delivered, dope since i been planning on spending 100 on just a keyboard

  • +3

I bought this before, literally fell apart in front of my eyes, the mushiest mechanical keys I've ever felt. Ratpoo don't buy!…

  • Blue switch is loud.

  • +2

i would rather a car run over my fingers than type on this "mechanical keyboard"

  • Went back to full price a little before midnight.

  • Black switches or go home
