Stella Artois Beer for $30 Per Case (Plus Standard Delivery Charges)

243
STELLA

Buy a case of Stella Artois fully imported beer (24 bottles x 330ml) for $30 instead of $39.99.

OzBargainers bought Winemarket out of house and home with Hoegaarden a few months ago, so we thought this offer would be right up your alley. We're seriously overstocked on beer and the seriously terrible summer weather hasn't helped at all.

Stella Artois is usually sold for $39.99 a case (RRP $69.99), our stock has a Best Before of end February 2012* so we need to move it FAST.

Use the voucher code STELLA in the cart during checkout to discount each case down to $30.

Dan Murphy's is currently selling their Stella for $44.99. First Choice don't even have a website we can check the price on. So trust us when we say this is a mega bargain! And it's a delicious beer too, this is the real stuff brewed in Belgium by brewers eating fancy Belgian chocolates.. well, probably not, but that's how we imagine it anyway.

*we regularly drink beer that's past its best before in the office and we're all still alive and functioning.

Hardly a bargain. Noone would buy Stella at that RRP.
I've never seen Stella sell for more than $50 and usually see it for around $40 for the fully imported Stella's at Dan Murphy's.

    • $30 even with delivery is still cheaper than $40 and it's definitely cheaper than $50.
Plus Dan's is currently at $44.99 before delivery.. each to their own.

This is fully imported too, by the way. As is our Peroni and our Becks and just about everything..

is this really imported?.. or is it imported from victoria?

        • +8

Fully imported. Unless Belgium has relocated to Victoria to avoid the European debt crisis.

      • -3

A 24 pack of these can be found in the US and UK for around $15 to $20. The Australian price isn't very good in comparison. I know that's not your fault but the importer in Australia is ripping everyone off. If this is imported there should be massive savings considering the power of the AUS$ against the Euro.

30 bucks a case is a amazing bargain ( i usually pay 45, 40 if i am lucky and the occasional deal through getwinesdirect) - if i could pick it up…

at 38 bucks a case it is still a bargain - just not as "wow" as you make it out to be (esp with used by date issue)

(your RRP is a bit off though)
(i am still giving you + vote b/c it is a bargain - just encouraging you to be careful with the "excited" marketing - by way of warning it does not seem to go down well here.. unless it is a ridiculously good deal)

    • I noticed, tough crowd!

We had a Hoegaarden deal last year for $40.99 delivered, so in my eyes $38 delivered is a better bargain than that.

The Hoegaarden deal was an unexpected loophole - the cost of beer is very high and nobody makes any money on it (except Fosters) - so maybe if it wasn't posted by Winemarket and you felt like you were sneaking one by us, it'd be more exciting?!

      • no, it has absolutely nothing to do with who's posting it.

        hoegarden for $41 = exciting
stella for $38 = not all that exciting

        it's pretty simple mate.

having said that, it is a decent deal in any case.

        • Fair enough. What's your favourite import then?

        • yeah, don't get me wrong, it is a good deal. it's just that imported stella is regularly had for around that price, whereas hoegarden is less often on sale around that price. so while both are good deals, the hoegarden is more "exciting" when it does get down to that price.

in terms of my favourite import…i dunno, i don't really have one. i buy mainly for other people, and they seem to like hoegarden, peroni and becks.

personally i like japanese beers or dark ales. and i recently got some of the double malt peroni gran riserva, which goes pretty well too.

          mainly i drink cider tho!

        • Wine_market,

Could you do me a favor by importing Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc??
No one in OZ seems to stock this particular beer.
Tasted it on a fashion show opening where Jimmy Choo was part of it, it tasted awesome!
Good deal for the Stella if local pickup is available though.

        • Jojo-Ma,

We've sampled a Kronenbourg or two here in Australia, it's definitely not readily available but there ought to be some specialists or really big bottle-o's that stock it. Have you tried Dan Murphy's? They've started online sales now if there isn't one in your area.

          Caprimulgus,

          Cheers to drinking cider! Delish.

Buy today + 10 days delivery = 12 days left in the month to drink 24 beers. Maybe if it was $20 a case with free delivery… :)

    • +1

It's a Best Before, not Use By :)

      • +4

That kind if attitude to the best before date is why you have so much stock you need to clear, had you posted this back in January, you might of got a sale from me, I just don't want to pay anything close to normal price and not be able to fully enjoy the beer, knowing it's near use by date, just kills the appeal

        • +3

Technically we don't have to inform you of the best before date, in the interests of transparency we did. FYI, retailers will keep selling up until the best before date and anyway a use by is not the same as best before. Milk has a use by, beer has a best before.

That's just a technicality though and everybody has different preferences, if this isn't the deal for you it's not the deal for you!

30 for full import is a bargain.

    • +3

      it's not $30 it's $38 for stale beer

Just wait for Wednesday's GWD deals alot better!

I have some of this Winemarket Stella I received about a week ago and it still tastes like all the other imported Stella I have had, it certainly is not stale.

Stella has preservatives in it, and as such, the shelf life of it will go well past the best before date. If it was for a craft beer that uses no preservatives, I would say it would be getting past its best.

I am pretty sure I remember seeing on here Stella a couple of months past the best before date for this price.

For me it is a good deal, from some genuinely good guys at Winemarket.

To bring down the delivery charge, combine the purchase with some cases of wine. They have some bargains on there.

    • We try, we try.. thanks for the cred!

  • This anything to do with the recent sale of the brand, from Fosters to Lion?

Warning: this beer is associated with domestic violence in UK :-)

I bought that Hoegarden deal last year and they left the first two cartons at my door step. The local bums had a field day.

    • +8

Where exactly did you expect them to deliver it to?

Why didn't you leave a key out and a note specifically requesting that the courier load them into your fridge for you?

      • I feel sorry for Kaboda but had to laugh at llama's comment

  • Wait, we can request imports? Get me a case of Desperados and we'll be talking!

  • +2

really not that impressive at all. Can buy a case of fresh imported stella for $40 all the time. and at my local liquorland if they have stock approaching useby they sell for under $30 as well, without postage costs.

  • BARGAIN

Hard enough to find the imported stuff.

    Customer for life.

  • +2

RRP $69.99 Who pays that … Joke! This stuff is always getting close to the date where ever you go….When you see it down around $40 that's usually why…

  • Can you do a case of Zywiec for $38 delivered? Or Warka Strong?

    Kozel is also nice.

  • What I can't understand is why didn't Winemarket just distribute the fully imported stock (a few months ago) to a few selected Dan Murphy's stores in SA to get rid of them? Dan's could have sold them for $40 well within best before date.

Presumably there isn't much stock swapping going on between Woolworths group companies.

PS. Winemarket - the Marquis Phillips shiraz is excellent. Was going to buy another case, but looks like you've run out.

    • Alas, we've run out for now… there was a few options of Marquis Phillips stock banging around a few months ago, stay tuned.

If you're a fan of McLaren, we have the 2011 vintage of Biscay Road on the road to our warehouse, it's still a fresh vintage I suggest keeping your hands off it for as long as you can stand though.

Previously Winemarket was owned by a private equity company. While we're now owned by Woolworths Group, little has changed except there's a different really important guy getting up to make really exciting speeches at the Xmas party.

  • +1

I bought from Winemarket previously and the beer was close to the used by date (they weren't up front about that on the website) and the box arrived beaten up and falling apart. Also, once they had my name on their database they kept calling me, trying to get me to buy some wine from them. They were quite pushy about it too.
I wouldn't buy from them again.

    • +1

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience Mick.

You can change the phone & email contact preferences that you set when you signed up at any time (on the website or by calling us). Regardless, our phone guys shouldn't have been pushy at all to you, it's not our style, apologies!

Also if you ever decide you might be able to forgive us, if you get a damaged box, or something you just don't like call or email us & we'll send out a replacement at no charge. Our couriers deliver nationwide so it's a big network, and some of them aren't as spectacular as others..

  • Wine_market: When are you going to have another pay $40 and get $80 of wine?

  • BTW you great sense of humour almost excuses you for working for one of the big, evil duopolists :D
