  • How do you get it to $90 for both? I added the promotion and my total is coming up $100.

      Where'd the edit button go?

Nevermind, I just refreshed and it applied correctly, $90 for both. Willing to try it out, TaoTronics has been a good brand from my experience, if they come out with a good price for the filters, that'll be the real game changer.

  • So I guess this is not suitable for living room that is larger than 15m2? Or do we still get the benefit of it if it is placed near we sit for example?

  • Just note that replacement filter is not available yet as of today
seller said will be available from July but price unknown

      Replacement filter link

Air Purifier Filter, TaoTronics Air Purifier Replacement Filter, 3-… https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0885WGJ1J/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_…

      • quite expensive for a small filter considering mi filter (3-4 times the size) is usually $30 on ozb.

        • @kekw what is the Mi Filter model? are you referring to the replacement filter or the actual air filter?

          • @db2k: talking about the replacement filter.

    This purifier looks tiny.
The cadr rate looks unrealistic for the size, or it must sound like a jet engine.

Plenty of other better sized air purifier on eBay for a similar price.

At that size it'd be lucky to purify a 6sqm room

Don’t just go by assumption mate , I have been using it Preety much everywhere in the house and it does the job Preety well remember what you pay is what you get ..but in saying that, I am quite happy with the performance and have a look at the reviews they do the justice as well..if you not interested please buy it from eBay ..cheers no hard feelings

      • +1

@Sunnyoz, can you please comment on my question above?

        • Mate put it this way ,I use it pretty much for everything, for example if we are cooking I put it in the living room so it’s can gets all the cooking fragrances/smell from the kitchen , at night time I put it on the main bedroom which is fairly a medium side room approx 20sqm and it’s does the job well and we can feel the difference in the air quality ,so from practical experience it is suffice for our needs .. I would say if you want to give a go it’s totally upto you, I only put it out on the ozb as I was about to buy another one based on my practical experience..some people might Neg me for this but the thing is you cannot make every one happy 😃

Are you by any chance affiliated with the store or seller?
Seems like you're really trying to push the sales on this.

        I digress.

I own 4 air purifiers and have done a fair bit of research into them.

Not making assumptions, but half the time the general public/consumers have no idea what they're buying.
How do you know this unit 'works' for you?
        What metrics are you using?
Do you have anything else to compare?

I don't know how you are rating performance but keen to understand more

        • I've never bought an air purifier but I am interested, if I trusted all those reviews I'd just buy it, but like yourself I'd rather see some metrics rather than going "by feel".

I think this is like buying a multivitamin?
I feel good, so it must be working?

Or are these really good at clearing the air, to the point where anyone and everyone will notice it?

I have had internal nose surgery and still suffer from allergies, so this looks like something I could benefit from but never bought coz too skeptical…

          • @nismo: Honeywell make some of the best ones, particularly for medical use.

If you want to experiment with low risk, I say just get one of the kmart ones I posted below.

To some extent you can see how much they are working by looking at the dust collected on the filters.
Some units have air quality metres but it's hard to tell if they are legit working or not. They could just spit out random numbers or colours of it's not a reputable brand

            • +1

@edrift: Thanks. I might grab the Ikea one as it's cheaper than kmart medium and I can get discounted gift cards also… 😂

        • What made you think that I am associated ? Just because I am sharing my personal experience for a item that I bought from Amazon and I liked it ? Mate , hand over your ozbargain badge, I thought ozbaragainer were meant to be sharing good deals and that’s why I put it out on Ozb. Also I don’t need to justify about the item as I have already explained my personal experience using the item In my post. .if you are not happy with the item or the deal move on ..unfortunately you can never make everyone happy . Besides that don’t judge the book by it’s cover .Happy ozbargaining..enjoy you day.

@Sunnyoz: All good, just seemed like you promoting something that might not really be a bargain Afterall?

If something is a pile of poo it doesn't matter how much it costs, it's still poo.

I'm not an expert but I've done my fair share of research and what you have posted isn't a bargain/good buy as there are other similarly priced air purifiers that function better and therefore offer better value.

I don't really care if this product is the cheapest it's ever been… It's still not good value compared to other air purifiers.

I come to ozbargain to keep posters honest and ensure there is a bargain to be had.

            • @edrift: What made you think I am promoting it? ..I am posting it as personally believe its a deal, I understand that it may not particularly benefit you, as you have already made your opinion without even using the product ..but it can certainly be a deal for other ..if you have not used the product how can you even say it’s a poo? your comment depicts itself that you are not an expert and by calling a product a poo give an indication what you basing your comments on(lack of knowledge) besides that ozbargainer are well aware and knowledgeable and can certainly differentiate between the right and wrong and let them decide if they want to buy the item it not .. you are not their commision broker are ya 😃

  • How easy is to get refund if im not satisfied with the quality?

    • I found Amazon to be the best in this regard (returns in general).

Within 30 days, Amazon handle refunds / returns, at least with Prime they do.

  • +1

    Ordered.

I'll see if I can report back the quality somewhere. I've been wanting a small purifier for another room in the house, or if it's too loud (or the wrong pitch), for the shed where I have a server and need to scrub as much crud out of the air as possible. I've also been looking at some cheap earbuds for when I'm walking through the city, so this was a great deal.

  • +1

nice, was looking at these when they were $95, want a small purifier for the bedroom so hopefully this will do the job while my Xiaomi stays in the lounge

  • Other locally available options from kmart.

At least they don't lie about what size rooms it can cater for:

    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/small-tower-air-purifier/29…
    $49

    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/medium-tower-air-purifier/2…
    $99

    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/large-family-air-purifier/2…
    $159

Whilst I don't own any of these, I wouldn't recommend going for anything smaller than the medium or large one unless you live in a closet.

Bigger units are better as they can clean more air and run at quieter/slower speeds.

Ideally you want at least 2-3 times of the cubic air volume of your room to be cleaned per hour at a minimum. So buying a bigger unit means you can clean the air more times for a smaller room.

A small unit is almost useless. It won't be able to clean the air even for one time per hour.

The IKEA ones are well rated also

      https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/foernuftig-air-purifier-white-7…

Also only $10 for new filters.

      • Nice one. Didn't know they existed.

Look like a very elegant solution

      • Doesn't seem to use HEPA filters though.

        • +2

"The particle filter absorbs approximately 99.5 per cent of smaller airborne particles such as dust and pollen down to PM2.5 (particle size 2.5µm)."

          You're right, it's EPA E12.
          0.4% less effective than HEPA.

I guess it depends if you're trying to improve air quality, or actually stop a specific particulate.
I'd honestly advise that if you need true hospital grade HEPA filtering, you shouldn't be looing at consumer level products.
