Do You Cancel Your Credit Card before or after You Get The Frequent Flyer Points?

If you are credit card churning, do you wait until you get the points once you've met the minimum spend before cancelling? If so, how long does it usually take? Is there any harm in cancelling the card once you know that you've met the minimum spend?

  It would seem extremely dicey to cancel the card before the points are credited.

  Always after. Usually about a month after.

  Usually once I have redeemed the bonus and received the points on spend for that month.
