  • That price per tablet is the cheapest I've seen so far

  • +1
  • wow thats really good, but is this deal somehow in other states?

    Like in WA :D

  • Anyone done the calculation of normal powder versus tablet/powerball value for money?

I prefer powder, as I can adjust how much I put in for relative to the type of dishwasher load.
For me a 1kg powder lasts probably 2-3 months making it about 60-90 washes.

Also, any real difference in wash quality - I've always been happy with Finish powder.

    • Finish tablets: 90%
      Aldi powder: 83%
      Aldi tablets: 80%

      cleaning score from Choice.

  • How the hell do u get 1 kg of powder to last 3 months

    • With the new smaller '2x concentrate' Finish powder, the Finish recommended amount is 20g per wash (filling up of the inner ring of the cap). I use that for a heavily soiled wash, otherwise typically use 1/2 to 3/4 of that for most usual washes - food scraps off the plates and the plates rinsed lightly in the sink filled with a small amount of water (not using continuously running tap to avoid wasting water).

Very satisfactory washes with my machine, a nearly 15 yo Asko dishwasher.

With this, can get ~70-90 washes from a 1kg bottle of powder.

I think many people fill the entire wash container on the machine which is too much and thus get poor washes with the powder clumping together, becoming ineffective for washing and damaging if it gets stuck to sensitive dishware.

ps. this is in Melbourne where the water is not 'hard' like in Adelaide or elsewhere.
