Strange is pretty lenient - unacceptable is a term I would use instead :)
Seems only useful for a single wireless router solution - review noted poor implementation of mesh (no dedicated backhaul).
Bigger house and ceiling access - a good router + 2 U6 Lites will still give you change from $500…
Can’t you Ethernet backhaul these?
yep… they use PoE to power it too. so you need to buy an injector if you don't have a PoE switch/router

Is there Merlin support for these routers?
Nah Merlin is for Asus.
Looking at the test results, aren't you far better off with an Asus RT-AX86U or RT-AX88U (when they are on sale)?
Asus RT-AX and Amplifi are designed for two different target audiences. Asus wins from a performance standpoint and you can go to town on changing the advanced settings. Amplifi is good for plug and play and those who don't care for changing many settings.
No 160hz channel support?
Strange for a router this expensive.
