  • Note in the main page it says delivery is US$17.60 but in the checkout, it is $9.55(+GST) - and cost effective to buy more.
According to the Camels, this is the lowest from Amazon US.
  • To buy in Australia, it is currently $A120, so even with delivery, this is cheaper.

The camera gets a pretty good review on a few YouTube channels and is very tempting if I was going down the Blue Iris route. Night-time pics look very good.

Note: Needs POE injector.

  • Which nvr n poe injector to run 8 of this?

    • +1

      A 8/16 port POE switch.

    • That's not how a system works. NVR becomes thr PoE switch. A injector would be used only if you were running a camera or two realistically. If you used software like blueiris you'd used a 8 port PoE switch.

      • Yes - if you are using an NVR you don't need the POE injector, but I am looking at something like Blue Iris and I don't know which NVRs are compatible.

        • If you're using blue iris you aren't going be using a nvr. You need to run iris on a pc/nas. No nvr can run it. Now you can run both systems to stream the feed from thr nvr to the pc you'd be running iris on but would be very pointless in doing so

          • @DoesntEvenMatter: Ahhh…. My reply was garbled and I should have used two separate sentences. - I meant I am looking at Blue Iris (yes on a PC) and not an NVR.

Separate observation: I don't know which NVRs are compatible with these cameras because I haven't been looking at NVRs.

I need my 2nd coffee before I write things!

    • According to the specs, each camera uses 7.2 watts, so 8 x 7.2 = 57.6 watts.

I'd look for injectors or POE switch that deliver a lot more than that for headroom.

      • Okay. You need to do some research before you start making such comments which can blow peoples IPC

      • I think that 7.2W number has some headroom built in already. My 3 PoE cameras (2 are similar to this one) runs at 2.5-3.5W each.

  • Does it Support ONVIF ?

  • I think these amcrest are rebadgeed dahua that the guy from ipcamtalk has been selling on amazon

    No WIFI? WTH.

    • For CCTV camera POE is better than wifi.

    • Ethernet is far more reliable and being POE you only have to run one cord. Wireless just doesn't make sense for anything that you want to run long term and want to be secure.
